Legend? Really? 18 month purple patch and carried by young lads like, Sharpe, Steven, Stevens, Heath, VDH, Bracewell,Sheedy, mountfield, probably one of the most overrated players we have ever had, wouldn't have got anywhere near the 63 and 70s champions winning teams, the fact we glorify this bloke shows how low we have become,
Personally speaking I loved the days we at sunderland had PETER REID, a great personality and a rite good man in general,,honest as the day is long 👌 oh and a fucking great drinker to 👍👍
Got carried for 18 months by a team of young lads, gets called a legend for a 18 month purple patch, no wonder we get laughed at when we consider this joker a legend, Southall is what you call a legend
Little did Reid know before he signed that he would form part of a quality midfield quartet with Sheedy, Bracewell and Steven that would get the better of a great Liverpool team & go on to win 2 league titles in the 80s.
@@johnbarton3252 How old are you John Lad ? my era John lad , they worked their bollocks off every game, Learning all the time playing great football ! things go on we know that, think your abit hard on them, regards.
Aged 61 stormy lad and old enough to watch the 70 champions too, Reid had been at Everton for 2 years and nothing had changed, then Andy Gray turned up and BOOM we took off, the sole of that team was ripped out when he was then sold and replaced by Lineker
The only managers, post war to win the league for Everton were Catterick and Kendall. Catterick signed Kendall as a player. I’ve always thought it would’ve been great to have one of Kendall’s signings take over as manager in the 90s; could’ve been Reid, he probably wasn’t sexy enough but it would’ve been great.
What, all 18 months, this joker is called a legend, got pissed after Rotterdam with Kendall and the rest of them and cost us the treble and history, Andy Gray changed Everton not this joker
I remember when Kendall signed for Everton in the 60's. He was terrible in his first season and in the first football annual (remember them? )he featured in as an Everton player it was claimed he was a staunch Christian lad who liked nothing better than playing the organ in chapel service on Sunday...lol

Peter Reid, one of the greatest ever midfielders of Everton, and a great story teller! 🤗
Peter Reid a proper Everton legend

One of Everton's greatest players and legend. 💙
This sort of explains why Maradona trotted away from him in Mexico '86.
Yes, just watched that goal again. From a distance, Reid doesn’t look that much different from the old geezer in 86 than he does nowadays.
maradona " trotted away from " half the england team that day to be fair 😂
I’m not even a toffee but that was a class watch 👏🏼⚒

He was going to join Sheffield Wednesday... and was honest enough to tell Jack Charlton Everton had come in for him...
Don't forget he use go drinking with Frank Worthington in his bolton days 💙

PETER ? lived hard , played even HARDER ! ONE TOUGH PRINCIPLED PLAYER, He knew the Difference alright.
Think he was on his way to Arsenal before his injury at Bolton, great player at his prime.
