@@TheFlyingDutchMan8K yes and no. The city is a valley with no hills, mountains or trees. All we have is a beach. I much prefer a greener place even if it means cold weather.
It’s very popular with many visitors, but that doesn’t detract from the beauty and the charm of the place - what an interesting and very enjoyable video, thank you❣✨😎🎄💞

Thank you so very much for making and posting this video! I enjoyed Christmas more in your 15 minute video than I have in a very long time. I felt like I was swept away to a far off, magical Christmas Fairyland and I didn't want to leave. I became so sad when the video ended.... I think I will go back and watch it a few more times. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Oh wow...sooooooo BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for sharing, this is 100% on our bucket list to visit, such a pretty fairy-tale and so charming. Loving the video and your wonderful filming! Thank you

I would love to return again to England, France, Germany, but, when doesn’t it rain! Every video is rainy! I’d rather have big white fluffy snowflakes at Christmas.
So strange this vid popped up. I'm from the USA but my family on my mom's side is originally from Alsace. They would refer to it as Alsace Germany so this was many generations ago when it was part of Germany but no one in my family has returned to Alsace to reconnect with old family. I think this is a sign for me to do just that.
Alsace, a region in what is now eastern France, has a complex history of cultural and political influences, alternating between French and German rule over the centuries. Its origins, however, lean more toward Germanic roots before becoming part of France. Early History: Roman Era: The area was originally inhabited by Celtic tribes before being incorporated into the Roman Empire. Germanic Migration: After the fall of Rome in the 5th century, Germanic tribes, particularly the Alemanni, settled in Alsace. Holy Roman Empire: By the early Middle Ages, Alsace became part of the eastern Frankish Kingdom, which evolved into the Holy Roman Empire, a predominantly Germanic entity. French Rule: 17th Century: Alsace came under French control during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). The Treaty of Westphalia in 1648 formally ceded much of the region to France. This marked the start of Alsace's integration into France, although Germanic languages and customs remained dominant for a long time. German Rule: 1871-1918: Following the Franco-Prussian War, Alsace, along with Lorraine, was annexed by the newly unified German Empire. World Wars: After Germany's defeat in World War I, Alsace was returned to France in 1918. It was briefly annexed again by Nazi Germany during World War II (1940-1945) before being restored to France. Cultural Identity: Throughout its history, Alsace has been a melting pot of French and German influences. The local dialect, Alsatian, is a Germanic language, but French has been the dominant administrative and cultural language since the region's incorporation into France. In summary, while Alsace was originally more Germanic in cultural and political terms, its identity has evolved under both French and German rule, leading to the unique blend of traditions and languages seen today.
@@leanneclare3750 Not really, historically it was never French. It was only in the 17th/18th century when the French decided they wanted the Rhine as a border to the East that they first annexed Elsass

We could never have anything this beautiful in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphians would snatch what they wanted to steal then break everything else and dump it in the waterway. Then, they would spray the buildings with graffiti and sell weed on every street corner. We can't have nice things.
