I love how this beer project brings the whole family together. .-)
To say cheers in Lithuanian is ' Į Sveikatą ' which means ' to good health ' basically. Also Hello from Lithuania and out of the 3 Lithuanian beers you had I personaly like the Volfas-Engelman, the Ekstra is ok but I myself really don't like Baltas. For me the flavor and aftertaste of it is MEH!
About Perła - 'Ł' in polish is pronounced like 'W' in english. And the brand name literally means 'a pearl'.
Perła Mocne aka Perla Black is my favourite it has to be said. Not a session beer.
We don't get Perla in Australia, or even Zywiec anymore. We do get the occasional Baltic Porter though.
nice, love how it has same meaning in my language too, gona love slavic languages.❤
@@TheBaraful In Italian too!

well thats some beers😂 na zdraví!🙋🇨🇿btw we open beer with another beer😂
35:54 You can tell it's a Czech lion because it has two tails. It's like a national symbol
Yes. But I'm starting to think that almost all the beers we export to America are crap. For example, I have never even heard of this beer and I really like beer. :-D
@@zinstonehead Same, never heard of it either. Had to Google it and it seems to be for expert only
@@zinstonehead TBH Czechs have a lot of local brands.
It is fun, watching you all testing beers from other countries. Prost from Germany 😊
Skål ! From Sweden
@@jimmiekarlsson4458 Prost! From Germany :D
Noroc from Romania!
Proost from the Netherlands! 🍻
@@alexandrupatru2892 I know saying 'prost' sounds extremely weird to you :D
I really love all of you guys such a great harmony between you all ❤
Sorry skal means shell.
It is pronounced skoul. Skål
Can i just say it's kinda cute to me how Ian and Pedro often have the same beer preference 😉👍
Tuborg is much better than Carlsberg 🍻🍺
My opinion is opposite, as I don't like pilsners.
I'd hardly be able to tell a difference, both very bad :-))
@@herrkulor3771 iPrefer an ale or an whete beer But i still think an real Tuborg in an bottle is great
@@alexmashkin863 there is an reason why we can choose between thousands of beer everyone have their own taste
I agree with u . Tuborg is also better than garbage like Heiniken from the Netherlands. I mostly stick to our Swedish beer however, mainly "Three hearts " or beer from Visby´s brewery on Gotland. Nils oscar from Nyköping also make good Swedish beer.
Im not that in to Danish beer what so ever, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, and even brewerys from USA like Sierra nevada or brooklyn brewery makes better beer than every single Danish beer i tried so far.,
Hi @IWrocker - yes you`re a great tasting crew and it`s very nice to see your face turns from white to red ,Ian 🤭! Here in Germany, the opener of the last polish beer tasting is called a “Beugelbuddel” = swing top bottle. The most famous Beugelbuddelbeer is Flensburger beer and my favorite beugelbuddelbeer is Altenmünster. All the best wishes from hamburg (germany) and thanks for sharing - beer drinkers are the nicest peolpe on earth 😉
you've started your own pub there gentlemen🍻🍺
Every beer I’ve tried so far from Weihenstephaner has been delicious - lager, Hefeweizen, helles…. They call themselves the world’s oldest brewery - since 1040. You should try their hefe, it’s wonderful!
Fun fact: St Peter stiftkeller in Salzburg (Austria) - a tavern open to this day - had by the time of the founding of Weihenstephaner been open for 237 years already!
@@jarls5890 wow!
you guys ever considered coming to Europe to visit a couple of beer festivals or special beer pubs and film a couple of episodes there? I think your going to love the experience. I know a few pubs here in Belgium serving over 300 kinds of beers. And each beer has it's own glass here in Belgium
Interesting? Not seen that version of Perla in the UK, we tend to mainly see the one in a green tin, which is 6% ABV and the even stronger Perla Mochna. Both are very decent beers.
Carlsberg is popular in the UK but......most of it is brewed here under licence and is a poor weakened copy of a very average macro lager.
like the idea of an official chart (and a viewer chart) so we can see which beer was already tested and ranked so we can see what wasnt recommended. Im really getting into expending my beer horizon i like how everything tastes different. Im also really into polish beer u should test tyskie, zubr and warka strong (the regular is alright too) and kozel from czech republic and allgäuer büble from germany if u havent already.
I take my had off for señor Pedro! He know's his stuff!
I need to find one of those Pedro buckle pins . Awesome :)
To bad you havent tried no Dutch beers. If you ever come across Grolsch(The are famous for there bottle openere they invented, but i see that the polish brand has a similair opening), Brand (yes the brand's name is Brand), Alfa(Royal Dutch beer brewed with natural local spring water) or Hertog Jan, you must definetly try them.
great video! I can only recommend that you try Pilsener Urquell. It is the world's first beer that was brewed in the Pilsen style and is still brewed where it was invented
und echt lecker!!!!!!!!
Pedro dresses like a rockstar !" I have a sneaky feeling he is a beer veteran in disguise!
Impeccable fashion sense, the style 🤴 king 😊
I always like the beer videos and by the way, you look good with that hair cut (don't get me wrong, ok ? hehe :) )
Also the reason for the bubbles on the side when pouring the Carlsberg is because the glasses isnt clean (you already had the Baltas in em).
And Carlsberg is a huge sponsor in the world of football (or soccer to you American heathens).
And its pronounced skool.
Liverpool and Carlsberg are the main ones in Football
Dunno how I got here but Pedro may be my new favourite person. Hi from the UK.
Pedro the Buckle opener 🤠
Yes, it's nice to see - he is the only beer bottle expert. My grandpa was a bricklayer, he could open bottles so quickly with a trowel that's unheard of. Here they say: You have to open the bottle with a newspaper or a banana.
yea carlsberg is one of the biggest beer brands in the world id say, they sponsor everything.
Trappist ales are amazing, qudruppel especially :-)
Pedro the professional pourer and bottle opener and sampling ❤
Gotta love Pedro.
As a poll you can do do a UA-cam poll for ppl to vote
yikes. imo carlsberg is the worst to represent danish beer.
only good thing about carlsberg is that it was them who invented the beer yeast most breweries use today.
if you want strong beers then the black giraffe beer from albani is at 10%
think the strongest we have to offer is Keine Hexerei from Frederikshavn bryghus at 24%
my favorite is one called hancock black from the brewery hancock. a dark beer that goes well with food too.
Carlsberg suffers from the same problem as Heineken, they make beers that are meant to be sold across the entire world, so (for lack of a better description) they go for a combination of the most commonly wanted flavors, what that gets you is a beer that most people across the world will certainly be okay with, but also a beer that very few people would prefer over something "less globalized"
I'm from NL and i only really drink Heineken when it's the only option, otherwise i avoid it. It's certainly not a bad beer but it's not all that noteworthy either, Carlsberg same thing & there are a few more beers like that, they essentially got "too successful" so it really just becomes a "bland" beer.
😂not the best out there
Home beers are normally better when they export them its like a shadow of the original
I can't imagine drinking another beer crossing the Öresund.
Hilarious that we dont consider this good beer but just pilsner wich is not even beer in Europe from my perspective
Baltas and Svyturys 1784 Ekstra are also part of the Carlsberg Group, though made in the Baltics, just as Carlsberg own and brew a boatload of Danish and foreign brands like, Kronenbourg 1664, Tetley's (UK) and Danish Tuborg, Jacobsen and Wiibroe
Carlsberg also own one of main chains in Poland.
@@TheRezro .. Carlsberg also used to own the 2nd largest brewery in Europe, Russia's best-selling beer brand Baltika/Балтика (with 8,500 Russian employees), but that was confiscated by the Russian state when Carlsberg pulled out of Russia for good, due to the invasion of Ukraine.
It produced a $950 million turnover the year before, and the Baltika brewery and brand itself was worth $3 billion according to the last Carlsberg accounts, before the Russians stole it all.
Carlsberg then terminated its brewing license with Baltika in October last year, following the illegitimate Kremlin takeover, which meant Baltika could no longer produce, market or sell any Carlsberg Group products, starting this month.
In response, Baltika then took legal action against Carlsberg in a court in St. Petersburg in December last year, claiming damages to the value of $900 million. Crazy stuff, but they will obviously not see a penny of that, if Baltika "win" this case in a Russian "kangaroo" mock court.
@@agffans5725 And then they machines start breaking like they airliners. People seams to not know that Soviet industry was build by United States during WW2. Cold War happen because Russians refused to pay massive debet they owe to Uncle Sam. It is hilarious that Western industry didn't see it coming? Russians are perpetual thieves and liars. Or did they?
Hey, nice company 🎉
Uzdravlje!
Not Carlsberg - better try "Tuborg"
You’re getting deeper into the beerverse. I can’t wait for the Belgian Lambic masochistic episode eventually. Just imagining your contorted faces just from the smell already makes me chuckle 😁
schlenkerla-rauchbier aus nürnberg mit rauchschinkengeschmack dass toppt!
I am commenting while watching... 22 minutes in now. I like the atmosphere, when like now I am alone at home (just because of my girlfriend being away for a couple of days, no worries hehe). I hate saying "my girlfriend" as I am 45 years old and we have been together for over 10 years now.
In french I would say she is "ma compagne" :)
Glad to hear that.. that’s why we leave in the natural environment with the family just outside of the shot, it’s a fun family experience and I try to share that with the viewers 🎉
Italian beer, in high demand amongst world connoiseurs as much as Danish wine...
Only beaten by Egils from Iceland.;-)
Italian beers are amazing, if you stay away from the big brands!
@@obud3777Craft beers from small breweries are generally good everywhere in my experience. They can't survive if they brew piss 😂
Italian craft beers are outstanding. Dont judge according to the beer you get in Denmark.
@@alexmashkin863 amen to that.
I really love your tasting sessions. You are learning so much from it. Italian Trappist is unique? Wait till you get the Belgian beers. It is nice to see how the rating changes. You did a good job collecting the beers. Would love to join you!!😂
Belgian Trappists coming up very soon.. I have found a few. I’m excited 🎉
Wish y’all could join us for a tasting 😎🎉😆
@@IWrocker perfect. But do not drink them too cold. 50F is already too cold for us. I will join you from a distance. I have enough Belgian beers at home. Enjoy every moment.
@@IWrocker by the way. The glasses you use for tasting are perfect. You can smell the beer good, the temperature stays longer at same level and you don’t get drunk after 4 beers. Trappist is high in alcohol. After 6 different beers you don’t taste any difference anyway. Do not let them tell you otherwise.
Trappists shouldn't be served too cold (46-57F). Also, store dark and leave it for a week before serving so the sediments can sink to the bottom. Preferrably serve in a chalice style glass and try not to get too much of the yeast in the pour. Do drink it separately because it's packed with b-vitamins.
@@AbsolutePernilla absolutely agree with it. But Americans drink beer much colder. To serve them beer at 57F will not be wise. They have to try it first. Also the glass is very important but for tasting a small nosing glass is good for now. I prefer also the original matching glass. Not all beers have yeast and even some want you to take the yeast. Even one off the best abbey beers in the world “West Vleteren” number 8 needs the deposit for its typical sour chocolate taste. But again, I agree with you. Taste has to develop and they try hard!
Carlsberg also own one of four main chains of breweries in Poland.
They own sub-brands like: Krąż, Kasztelan, Bosman, Okocim, Harnaś and Piast.
Thanks for trying a danish beer (I am danish). Yea the most known danish export beers are Carlsberg and Tuborg.
We are known for drinking beer but not for making the best in the world although we are not bad at it (not last for sure).
So the points make sense... you guys got better at it !
I will insult my fellow danes by saying that all of my favorite beers are from Belgium.
You got to get some Belgian beers especially the Trappist beers
Delirium tremens and also the sour ones too
@@Sbinott0 Delirium is good but i don’t Like sour beer personally I prefer the stronger or flavourful Trappist beers.
07:45 -- Carlsberg (Pilsener) tastes best fresh from the tap. It's nothing out of a can or bottle. The next time taste try "Carlsberg Elephant" (strong beer with 7.2/7.5% or 10% alc.). I like "Tuborg Pilsener" or "Faxe Lager Øl" (1-Litre-can!) from Denmark. Greetings from Northern Germany (typically drinkimg "Jever" or "Flensburger")! 🙂
I was about to suggest the "Faxe", too. I want to see their faces when there´s the 1-litre-grenade in front of them. 😉 Plus it actually makes for a pretty decent beer, though i prefer Krombacher or Veltins myself. Flens is ok. Jever is "too bitter" for my palate. Prost from western Germany! And btw: Pedro ABSOLUTLY is the pourking! Considering the ice in the beer: Let me quickly get my torch and pitchfork. The pyre is already built!
RØD TUBORG
Carlsberg Elephant? Cheap lager beer with a dash of moonshine in it? Why should they try that? You want to scare them away from danish beer? :)
Another great Video. ❤
Ian I'm looking forward to your crew trying out Irish Whiskys. I recommend Jameson. Bushmills. Powers. Paddy. I'm looking forward to it. But make sure the measures aren't too big 😂😅
Weizen/wheat may have a tase about yeast. Not every one likes this.
Nice to see you have fun 🙂
I´d like to see a blind test of different beers including American ones.
Pedro perfect pourer 👏
Please try Nøgne Ø beers from Norway. They have many fun beer styles..
i love how the old man open European bottle :) ... almost everyone in EU can open bottle with anything around him
In denmark you can recognize the beer strength on the container. Green is normal, then black is stronger. Then Elephant is Gold.
Drinking a Italian India pale ale in Swiss while watching Americans try German and European beers😂
(Edit: i would love to hear your opinion on American and Canadian double IPA's and West Coast IPA's wich are extremely Popular in the countries where you got those beers from. We are now at the point that every company loving brewing is trying to produce real American craft beer wich is still considered better that what you got to try today😮)
Not going to lie, I am having some beer to. It is called "Bofferding", it is a Luxembourgish beer (I live in Luxembourg) and it is really ok but not as good as some of the belgian stuff I can actually get quite easy everywhere here
Try Simon or Battin if you want to have a decent beer in Luxembourg
@@ErrikosMyller absolutely and Simon BIO
Oh just noticed the Spider-Man bucket 😂
You really need to get a hold of the Danish ale from the Willemoes brewery. It is just called Willemoes Ale, and has a light yellow brownish label on the bottle.
John and i have the same taste buds... last video the dab beer a 10 and now perla isnt mine too. But everyone their own!
I like the all-stars test! So fun.
Carlsberg is like your average run of the mill lager in the uk. Heineken the same. Loving Pedros bottle opener lol. My brother uses his wedding ring!
heineken is piswater we dutchies call it sewerwater
Thanks!
Thank you! 🎉
My neighbor calls me "perełka"(little pearl)😁 because she often saw me buying Perła. However, I prefer Harnaś. Greetings from Warsaw.🇵🇱❤️🇺🇲 Oh, only bottled ones.👍😉

Be sure to give American beers a try as well; it's important to have a point of reference for your preferences. 👍🏻
For a beer brand with the slogan "Probably the best beer in the world." it's funny just how bad it is. Not even close to above average in their own back yard.
yeah its the worst representation of Danish beer.
i´m polish but live in Denmark, must say Denmark has good beer but it´s not this one, polish pilsners are so much better
American and Canadian craft beer beats any European beer for sure
@@skodass1 All Danish beer are shit.
Carlsberg should get rid of their stupid slogan "Probably the best beer in the world." Even better Carlsberg and all other Danish beers should go out of business

The company that industrialized yeast making for beer, and so pretty much any brewery after that own homage to Carlsberg.

Carlsberg's advertising was: We brew for the Danish Court. Then the Danish Faxe beer came along and they advertised: We brew for the Danish people and guess who had the best sales?
Fun thing about Carlsberg, and Danish preference in beer..
The older generation genereally prefers Carlsberg, whilst the younger generation prefers Tuborg.
Carlsberg is a really bad reprensentation of Danish beer overall. Tuborg, Albani and Hancock (especially the latter) are all way better candidates.

32:50 Czech two-tailed lion is one national symbols, It symbolizes Bohemia - one of the three historical parts of the Czech Republic. This symbol has appeared since 13th century and was coat of arms of Bohemia (Czech kingdom and Czech lands). Moravia and Silesia (the other two historical parts of Czech Republic) have eagle in their coat of arms - Moravia (red-white checkered), Silesia (black). All these three of them are combined into a Greater coat of arms of the Czech Republic. Colors are also important, but I won't explain that here..
