holly crap thats like straight up the wall climb! Ive got one wpl helifar.. havent ever ran it but like it.. I do want more of them to modify up..big thumbs up
I love working and building rigs as well.. I enjoy creating and custom building any rc and really dont drive them as much anymore either.. Its like a calming therapy in evenings from a hectic day at work
When I'm not busy reviewing stuff...you will find me sat at my work bench making things or building things....I'm like you...more of a mechanic than driver :)
I tried these on my B36 and TBH I'd prefer if they came up with metal version of the stock rims. The weights increase stability at the cost of traction over bigger obstacles. I am running the weights on my b24 though, seems to be ok.
Great test Phil - very interesting! I put wheel weights in my CC-01 but took them out as the motor was getting too hot - did seem to improve traction though! The B24 rather impressed me in this test with the upgraded gearbox - thumbs up my friend! :D
I know its a completely different car but I just put some Tamiya Hahn racing truck wheels and tires on my wltoys a979 and it's so much fun. Doesn't spin out as easy drifting and when they're warmed up they grip nice on tarmac
So you put the stock B36 gear case and motor in this B24 you are using in this test? Doesn’t the B36 come stock with the 180 and B24 comes stock with the 130? I have seen these weights for sale on the websites and was hoping you would do a test and boom there it is. I will probably get a set, just takes forever to get to the states Thanks for sharing and the effort you put into this
Matt, yes...this has the B36 180 motor and gearbox. The 130 motor lacks torque, the newer 'white' cased gearboxes have better (lower) gearing, so they climb better anyway. I will be doing an Old Gearbox vs new probably...to show the difference. Thanks for watching.
Very impressive! I've been working on a c24 for quite a while now I had a c14 right now it's in pieces and many of them have been used on the c24 I am looking at this video thinking I really am missing out I need to change out my gearbox and my tires maybe add some weights too! As always another great video from you, and of course it's Potato Approved!!
Hmm. The wheel-weights work in that scenario without question. For rougher terrain I have some doubts about the form factor. If they were of the same weight but of a lower wider profile, might they not work better across an uneven surface? A very interesting test
Yes, that’s right...as I mentioned, I’m not sure they would give you the same grip as the stock kit tyres with no weights. They weigh 60g each....so could probably do with shaving a bit off the diameter and sacrifice a few grams. 👍🏻
@@modelnutty6503 One of my mates swears by the self-adhesive lead strip designed to simulate leaded windows. Mind you that could be because he bought a crate of 100m rolls at a car boot sale :) It's handy for CoG on planes too
Wow TOTALLY outstanding mate ,fantastic upgrades and a great Test, have you tried the WD-40 on the tires yet, it really does make them grip more , try them on the stock tires first😊 great impressive video my friend 👍😊👍
Tomley I need you Help I just Bought A RTR WPLB24 and the steering Servo is louder than a real deisel and its not proportional what do i do and how pls help , the wpl V3 SoundBoards are all sold out whats my next option can i go some other setup or type of radio rec/esc type pls help as i love this truck if you can help some way im happy to $$ donate to your channel lol

Cheers dude.... yes, it climbs well! I think I can go steeper with a bit more grip!
the joy that I find and seek in these upgrading these RCs are when I'm/watching someone tinkering with them. I'm more of a mechanic not a driver 😂😂

That's very impressive. I think this is going to be the wpl for me
Yes, it's one of my favourite 👍👌
@@TomleyRC does the rtr version come with proportional steering and throttle?
@@gabrielpichardo1492 Yes it does (sorry for the late reply!)

Yes, like I mentioned they will reduce the flex/traction.
That's actually a really good idea.

Cheers Mark, I actually really like the look of it without the rear bead! I may add a few accessories and keep it as is! 👍
How heavy are the wheel weights
Would only weighed wheels in front only make the bigger difference?
Yes, that does make a big difference
It also looked significantly more composed with the weights.
Awesome video love your WPL videos
Thank you. 😀🤘
Wouldn't the wheelweights block the air holes and it would be better as fully metal rims
They are not exactly flush with the rims, so should be good 👍
@Rick B As long as they fit....not sure if the metal wheels are the same inner diameter?
I've not been able to locate a place to buy that lower geared trans.
I don't think you can buy it separately just yet. 👍
I was thinking the weight in the wheels was another way to prevent a top heavy vehicle from rolling over
Yes it is, makes a big difference lowing the centre of gravity. 👍

It's always satisfying when you find some custom parts to add on...
Wondering how the MN D90 wheels would look on this?
Probably look good! I may try them as I have some 👍
Can you post the site where I can get the new gearbox please
I've not seen it available separately yet, sorry.
Amazing
Thanks
Cool test!! 💯👍🏻👍🏻
tg have you got a link for the new gearbox plz matey
You can't buy it separately at the moment.
Kit tires and wheel weights. That's what I thought! Thanks. Great stuff.

been getting good results wrapping solder and tape to the rims

Cheers Tony, yeah I've tried on some of the harder ones I have...but these WPL Kit tyres are super soft! Thanks for watching 😀👍
How long does the wd40 trick work for? I imagine they harden back up, is this true?
Result I'd say ?
Me too :)

Eliminate rubber to the tiré with a dremel, more weight and perforate rim
WPL should pay you, send you stuff.
Cheers dude...Well...they did send me the Wheel Weights 😉👍
Maybe that's a start.
Why do rc people keep writing tyres instead of tires?
Come to the UK and you'll find out ;)
I surely should drop by! Keep up the good work!
