Slab graft of Trichocereus Pachanoi on Pereskiopsis - why I hate handling small plant cuttings!

- After bevelling the top of a Trichocereus Pachanoi root stock, I decided to attempt a slab graft of one of the offcuts. A few of them had areoles so in theory they should be able to send out pups, if only I can get them to take. As I have loads of Pereskiopsis plants to play with, I decided to graft a couple of the offcuts. As mentioned in the video the last attempt failed, and quite probably these will too.
Please do give me a thumbs up and If any of you watching have managed to do this successfully, please leave a comment below. I've seen videos of slab grafts done on fatter root stock, but I'm really trying to see if it's possible on Pereskiopsis.

Many thanks Lyn for your comment, my success rate on Pereskiopsis has not been great but those that have succeeded have grown fantastically. Pereskiopsis is a pretty awesome plant in its own right, and I'm allowing a few plants to grow into ornamental specimens now.
Update - this graft just shrivelled and died. I suspect it got contaminated and it never managed to produce a good union.
I want to figure this out too. When were they last watered?
I don't remember exactly, but I think it would have been watered in the 2 or 3 days before filming this video. But please see the comment I'm about to add below too!
