Thanks Zee, always appreciate the thoughtfulness of your reviews. When you give something like this all positives but then score it an 8, I'd love to hear what would have pushed this up to a 9 or 10 for you.
I played this game a handful of times this past weekend and was happily surprised at the strategy involved. I thought it would be boring and it wasn't. Like you said, the game was very relaxing but you had to have a plan and make decisions that picked one thing and sacrificed another. I really enjoyed it!
Our ranking would be: Sunset Over Water, then Floriferous, then Herbaceous. We love light card games, but Herbaceous just doesn't have much going on in terms of game play. We didn't feel like decisions were great at 2p in Floriferous. Sunset Over Water, for us, has the best decisions and a bit more strategy. It took us a couple of plays of SoW to fall in love with it, but now it's one of our favorite small box games.
I enjoy Sunset Over Water more than Herbaceous, I actually got rid of Herbaceous once I got Sprouts. This one looks like what I wanted Herbaceous to be, just a little more control, still just as beautiful, and maybe even easier to understand for a non-gamer.
Another excellent review, Zee! Thank you for comparing Sunset over Water and Herbaceous too! Just got my KS and can't wait to bring it to game night at Mom's house!
Not giving the insects credits for being fauna? How dare you, sir! Haha, it's all good though, you mention "cute critters." Just bought this for my sister for Christmas. Very excited to try it out. She loves Herbaceous.
I don’t know if I like the easier games more. Games with only cards, must be light for my taste. Games with more strategy must have a central or player boards for me. I like to play with components.

Maybe its an 8 because its nothing particulary innovative or original
I’m glad I got to play this with you and Mike at the retreat. This was such a pleasant surprise.
Thrilled you enjoyed it so much, Zee!

Board gaming and gardening are my two biggest hobbies...I have been so excited to get this one. Haven't seen it for sale anywhere though...

Excellent review! Whenever I play this game, I just can't stop at one. Highly recommend the extended 2 player variant. Cheers
Glad to see more love for this game. I think I'm going to take this to game night tonight with my non-gaming mom friends.
Always appreciate you videos Zee!! :) This game reminds me of "Point Salad" but with beautiful flowers.

Still waiting for this game to arrive, and looking very much forward to it. Thanks for the review, it confirms all I expected this game to be.
I backed this on KS and got my copy 2 weeks ago. Have not had a chance to play yet but it is gorgeous looking.

Bugs = Fauna
Solid solo game.

Thanks for this review, Zee. I am very interested in this game.
Seems like a Point Salad and Kingdomino mashup. Sounds good!

I thought the same thing! it does have a "Point Salad" vibe - just prettier :)
Reading 3 min, I thought it was a game time not a player minimum XD
I didn’t hear anything negative in the review, but I guess a game such as this can’t compete against certain hobby games
Zee, what game is THE choice for 10/11 years old kids?
Thanks for the review. Can you do Hungry Little Demons?
