I watched an interview once with a sound engineer who worked with Queen and he said sometimes it was a nightmare recording overlay tracks with Freddie because it would phase. That is, that when he sang something twice, it would be absolutely identical. This is unheard of. Such an amazing talent. Not only could he sing, but he understood music to such a degree that he could produce musicians playing instruments he didn’t even play.
You didn’t have to dare me, I dared myself and I’m on my 3rd weekend in a row of trying to play this thing. There are so many chord changes that it makes you wonder if he wrote the melody first or the chords. It is absolutely crazy. This is one of those songs where as a musician, you could just hang it up and forget it all. There’s no way I’ll ever write something this great.
