    Good job in explaining i had no idea what a lot of stuff really meant even though i've heard the terms before, but you putting them into context helped a lot. Also i understood exactly what you meant and how to apply it. Perfect. The only thing i don't think i really comprehend is how you're making money on a short. Finding the setup on a long i can see but i dont quite understand the logic in buying into a short.

    Not bad, I have seen these types of setups, a certain guru calls them Acapulco, the big bar is the cliff and the short bar is the diver, 3 bar is the deep water !!! Lookat AUDCAD forex daily on Nov. 3, 2017 - long bar followed by 3 days narrow range, still it worked!

    Is the up or down gap required before the set up? Are you worried about the possibility of a morning or evening star? Also, how are you determining price range and your exit? Thanks!

    • @Live.Traders

      Not really required but we specialize on gaps, and they work the best.

    This is intellectual gold! One of the most difficult challenges I've been over coming is finding good intraday entries for swing trades. This will definitely go on my list. Also it reconfirms the idea intraday patterns can be just as important as weekly/monthly patterns.

    CF trade the second bearish bar was not an inside bar so it wouldnt have fit your trading plan for the 3BP... 13:26

    • @Live.Traders
      @Live.Traders  6 років тому +2

      Bar #2 was absolutely an inside bar, and was in the upper 50% of bar #1 with a 'relatively' equal high. This is directly out of the textbook. Page 95. ;-) I wrote the book and I'm the one who took that trade and made the $1308 on it. The entry was slightly aggressive at $230, instead of $230.50, but the pattern was textbook. Jared W.

      Also where is the book sold ??

    • @Live.Traders
      @Live.Traders  6 років тому

      It was slightly higher, but my trading (from the textbook) allows for a 'slightly' higher high, which was the case here. I only give the book out to folks who take or have taken the PTS course. It's on our website: livetraders.com or email info@livetraders.com Cheers!

      @knockoutnico9267 7 років тому +1

      Live Traders What I noticed doing a few months of following the 3 bar play on the sp 500 / is that because of the futures volatile nature that you must let the 3rd bar exceed the first bar by a little more then 60cents +to confirm direction and it's important to know the over all trend , because on a down day you know if you get a 3 bar play on long position it will be short lived / you get your moves but you can't get greedy , get your 3 points and go , especially when the Dow is trading between 20points up or down / also your moves will come between 9:30 -11:45am est ..there other things to keep in mind , but I seen multiple times a 3 bar play on 1 min and 5 min charts / on big movement days 5 min chart confirmations can give you a nice run / I am ready to go live shortly , taking notice in other variables but the 3 bar play being the corner stone of me trading /

I live in the UK and anyone living in the UK will eventually encounter the difficulty of finding a broker that allows this level of trading to be carried out. TD Ameritrade, Think Swim etc are all banned here so finding a broker that charges as low as them are near impossible for beginners. With intra day low cost is even more important. Anyone know a good broker in the EU that charges flat fixed rate per trade, like TD?

    why bother trading >$100 stocks to make $1300, in time u could make more on stocks under $15 ... just saying !

    • @Live.Traders
      @Live.Traders  8 років тому

      You're wrong...it does not work like that..it works on the R approach..watch this video, it will explain what we mean.ua-cam.com/video/tifDCbo8xpk/v-deo.html

    • @NabilDzz
      @NabilDzz 8 років тому

      I'm not against the R unit rule, what I meant is that trading blue chip companies which they movie at best 1% to %2 a day is not an ideal strategy for day traders who are chasing volatility and liquidity, hence, penny stocks tend to move 10 to 100, 200% in a day or two. moreover, most people have small accounts, so its more ideal for them to target stocks under $15......... thank you

    • @Live.Traders
      @Live.Traders  8 років тому +2

      Yes but % don't matter with the R approach as 1r is 1r regardless of the price of the stock. So 1r trade on one stock is the same as 1R on the other regardless of the price. For people with small accounts, they simply use a lower R approach and work their way up. That's the best approach if you want to become a big trader one day. With the share size and risk use on a trade, smaller stocks are not ideal due to sloppy messy patterns and the lack of volume and liquidity for us to get in and out. Whereas with Bigger cap stocks, we can take multi million dollar positions and get out with no problems. We do however trade smaller ones too. Had a great trade on GALE the other day

    Shouldn't you wait for a pullback on the third bar?
