I love LOTR. Anything within the universe I'm all for it. I didn't know about any of these dragons with the expectation of Smaug.
The lord of the rings movies are amazing. And the different types of dragons in the lord of the rings movies are very incredible.
In the Movies there literally arent any Dragons. (Except for Smaug in the Hobbit) The Fellbeasts arent considered Dragons
My Favorite: Ancalagon the Black. A fucking Volcano with Wings. A Dragon so big that it basically took a universal Weapon , able to destroy Galaxies, just to take him down temporarily (Because it is told that Ancalagon will rise again, when morgoth gains enough power)
It is told, lol. Not necessarily true 😂 Think about Saruman’s spirit alone, being blown into the wind (instead of being allowed to even *return* to the Halls of the Valar for judgement) for merely selfishly gaining power to beat Sauron at any cost…
Yes finally something I love ❤️
Ice Drakes are mentioned many times in Tolkien’s work, and are never said to have been manipulated by Morgoth to be what they currently are. It seems more likely to me that, due to their lack of flight and breath-power, that one or more of these creatures were used as the basis of corruption to create Glaurung.
And later frost-drakes, who can blow freezing breath and have wings, are merely a direct hybrid (through breeding rather than corruption) between fire dragons and frost drakes.
I have heard somewhere about Corlagon the Red and Scorba the Golden living in Angmar mountains during events of Angmar War
The dragons of Game of Thrones are just snacks to these lovelies.
Theory:
I think that the main reason why the Targaryen Family was seen as a lesser insignificant noble house during the Valyrian Freehold days its because their dragons were actually weaker than the other valyrian dragons who were probably way more bigger, faster, powerful and can live up to many years that would make Balerion ( at his prime ) look like your just mere average joe. In other words these dragons were probably were at the same level as Tolkien Dragon's during the War of Wrath.
But yeah sadly even if this is true theres Ancalagon the Back ready to burn the GOT world in not more than an hour. 🥲
l'm fan lord of the rings
Weird in Game of Thrones Incest is encouraged!
Rings of power failed so bad Bezos ordered a remake for season 2
I have to ask this question publicly because it's serious. Is it bad that I like the Lord of the Rings better than Game of Thrones!?!?!? I mean, I tried getting into the show for a while, but I just couldn't keep up with the first 5 or 6 episodes. It's all so boring with it's monologues and political talking. I wanted to see more Wight Walker and Dragon fights, not sit through arguments about who loves who and who should be king or queen. Sorry if I'm a little harsh, but I'm just speaking my mind.
Like what you want no one can stop you XD
Well done good sir...
At the end of the day, Lord of the Rings is supposed to be Tolkien’s new Welsh mythology, while A Song of Ice & Fire is meant to be an incredibly complex and realistic fantasy story. They’re just different books, and having a preference is not a problem in the slightest.
