Use your common sense. The person who designed his way of spending money wouldn't have thought about it? The sole reason why he doesn't do that is ads contaminate the purpose of long form video. For your better understanding, he makes content on education. You click the video, it opens up with a 10 sec ad of 2 companies. Your mind or attention gets diverted even before the start of the video. Thereby the whole purpose of making a long form content is gone by a 20 sec ad.What he is doing is absolutely right!

there's a benefit of turning off ads, ads usually are annoying and makes people to watch other videos or get distracted... and that'll loose the retention hence... turning off ad would ultimately increase the conversion rate of what is being promoted inside the video which in this case is courses.
