      Thanks. This was terrible light for the work to be shown but if you want to see (as a fellow grinder) something cool;

Wow - that big white area is quite oxidized! I wonder if your customer knows how lucky he is to have you nearby... I've seen boats like that detailed at my marina but two weeks and a few rain storms later they look patchy as sh*t.

Well, he just paid his invoice and at the amount he was shocked but after seeing it and hearing that it took 6 steps to get there, he was thrilled. Paid cash! 😊👍🏼
I'm a lazy detailer. This boat suvked a week out of me. Started on a Monday, ended on a Friday. He owed me.
      Thanks,

Any tips on using a dual action instead of the polisher? I’ve got a newer boat with seasonal oxidation. Plan on using the mild per fect it and using flagship at the end.
    Thanks

Get a medium to coarse foam pad, use heavy Cut and then Perfect-it ex ac. A soft foam pad for the Perfect-it and the waxing..
Sorry, not much advice to offer. Rotary is to a DA what a shotgun is to a BB gun. You'll need to work the product a ton more press hard while compounding and still allow the pad to spin.. (at a speed that allows the pad to spin not just shake and wiggle)
A forced rotation buffer can do it but it takes a lot of muscle and skill to make it all work well.
It'll take some practice but there's a way.
Get some Foam-backed sanding disks and a backing plate for the da..? 800 grit to 1,000? Then your DA can become a buffer again and you can work with your pads and compounds to get a nice shine.
Best advice, Craigslist or a pawnshop will be a good place to buy a rotary cheap. No, no harbor freight bs.
      Good luck!

On a boat this size how much product should you expect to use ? Is there a point where you can put to much product or is it just put on as much as you need to get the desired result ?

This answer comes with experience. For a boat this size, a single bottle of any of my compounds should be enough to do 3-4 boats.
If the pad gums up, too much was used. If it spins dry and scratches, too little... The story here varies boat to boat but it's just a "feel" thing mostly.

How long does a job like this take ?

Well, in my younger days, less and now, more. Somewhere between 1 full, hard day or 4 lazy walk in the park days.

@@Local_Boydidgood I appreciate the comment on such an older video, thank you. I just wanted to compare my self to your time as you don’t do any wet sanding. Personally I only do a light wet sanding on ghosting from stickers, and if oxidation is really bad by hand to control it. Otherwise I agree with you on that there is no need, and it takes the same amount of time if not little bit less with just buffing. The finish is the same as well. I know this is a lot of text but, I’m trying to learn as much as possible, what the solution to really deep oxidation, to the point where it gets gloss just discolored?

      More grinding.. More sanding.

I'll sand bad stuff too but like you said, why the whole boat if it isn't necessary.
Anytime. Old vid, new vid, if I see a question, I try to answer it.
