As someone who got to about 1600 by civ picking cav civs and then lost 400 elo when playing archers I really needed this!!!! Really working to get my archers to be decent so I can play random civ (civ picking getting boring)
@@Nomatterwhat69That’s what I do! Bad habit from all my time doing cav civs. By the time I realize I have over a 1000 food in feudal/castle and almost no archers.
@@Nomatterwhat69my issue is that I sacrifice numbers for eco dmg or just taking efficient trades from an economy standpoint and then lose to CAV civs even tho I have a better eco.
This format of explaining (by sections)is the most simple and understandable. Great to see Lierrey. The idea to call in an expert in the field felt really professional

Hi! Today I tried the "patrol trick". Is was a complete disaster. My archers shoots the most far enemy, the reload time was almost the double and the path...oh man...the path was awful...they started to spin around themselves...

is it more beneficial to just prioritize hill bonus? E.g. you micro archers back to hill, but dont micro further until he passes you for the hill bonus, then you u-turn with the archers
Can someone pls explain why not use defensive stance for archers? To me feels like perfect mix of both mentioned. units wont just take off and run everywhere and die but also they can follow slightly so you hit even target that outrange you.
If you're patrolling a group of archers across the map through the fog of war, should you keep them in staggered formation, in case they run into siege on the way?
I refuse to believe a 15min video guide can be called comprehensive for archers.. knights would need 10seconds saying make knights and profit Edit: I falsely assumed this'd be an archer play guide, not archer micro guide.
@@RazorRG92 Even more helpful would be appropriately naming one's videos tbh. His over the top titles and sometimes thumbnails for clickbait, they're slowly but surely make me take him less and less serious as time goes by. This video is one of the lesser examples, but the video title is so overselling what the video actually is about regardless.

I'm the same, and I think the hardest part for me, apart from the micro, is to not spam too many farms

Archers are like duct tape, if it's not helping, you must use more duct tape.
