    Being from Strasbourg, and obviously French, I felt I needed to add someone about the Cathedral. Every Cathedral in France is named “Notre Dame”. It stands for “Our Lady”. It’s the general title for any church that is the seat for the bishop. (“Cathedra” in Latin meaning “seat” or “chair”.)
    So in France you’ll have “Our Lady of Paris”, “Our Lady of Strasbourg”, “Our Lady of Reims” etc cætera. It’s a very common trait in Catholicism and has something to do with devotion to the Virgin Mary.

    Many of the European Cathedrals do appreciate donations-upkeep cost is huge so please do make a donation if you visit. Strasbourg is one of my favorites.

    We were in Strasburg in March this year. We fell in love with this beautiful city and would go back in a heartbeat. We took buses all over and the architecture was lovely. I am bound and determined to go back for the Christmas season.
    The Astronomical clock has a been running for many, many years. Strasburg changed when wars broke out were then ruled by the winners. This gives Strasburg French and German influences in their food and beverages.

    I have to wait for this since our Christmas market river cruise isn’t until Dec 2024 but we have experienced Strasbourg and Cologne’s Christmas markets a few years ago during a land trip. Strasbourg cathedral is awesome and we were able to listen to the video while in the cathedral that explained everything about that astronomical clock. You should see that cathedral at night 😮

    Wolfart, Christmas stores are in every Christmas Market, and they also have stores in mist of the German Cities. Was surprised you didn't decide to go on the River Boat that would take you to Nuremberg, which has the Best Christmas Market in Europe. If you ever go back...Please make sure you do that city , and then go on as far as Vienna. Yes, you are seeing good Christmas Markets, but are missing the better ones! Also , you can buy Katie Wolfart in the US, and have also seen her stands at the Phila and the Bethlehem Christmas Markets. But US Christmas Markets do not compare to the ones in Europe! Yes i have been to Stroudsburg, twice in winter, yes in the snow. And 3 times in Summer! Vickie from SE Pa

    Are there no places to eat inside? Are there other things to look at beside large food carts? I'm asking because I will be there in April and I was hoping to see a flea mkt on Saturday, and a cool restaurant to eat lunch. Maybe there wont be anything like that. I heard about the flea mkt on saturdays but maybe there is not. A beautiful church and food carts. I hope there's more. Maybe more cool shops and did they ever get a Christmas ornament? While I'm kind of disappointed, I do appreciate viewing ahead of time what to expect as far as busing and how much walking there would be. Very cute couple.

    • @travelwithjoshandtaylor
      @travelwithjoshandtaylor  11 місяців тому +1

      I don’t believe so. You could bring slip on spikes with you and put them after disembarking. Ice wasn’t much of an issue. The crew was really great at making sure we were safe going down and up the ramps when disembarking.

Like the good one for me is a spicy food but not all are eating spicy right? Salute to the guy who vlogs it really well. Its how u show and tell people for the views that they can learn what they can eat there or what does the place offer. Well i like the vlog and I finished til the end because i am traveling there too with my husband. I just have a question about the jacket u wear? Is it a windbreaker waterproof one like they use on skiing? I asked this because im packing very light and if that ski jacket can make u warm then i’ll bring that to lessen bulky coats . Thanks
