How did you manage to reassign the turbo button? I followed your video but the setting for Turbo was greyed and unselectable. I went to add-on configruations and turned the toggle on turbo to off. but then i still can't reassign the turbo setting under pin mapping
Did you make sure you were on Profile 2 instead of Profile 1? And if you have to, use the Pin detector button and then press the turbo button to make sure you know which pin to remap.
@@VidVayderYup did both of those. The pin detector said the turbo button was on pin 14 but i can't do anything with it. Can't select anything or change the value.
I wonder if it’s because I updated to the latest firmware? Maybe you can try that? But make sure you backup your original firmware file first. This should be your last resort though since the controller is otherwise fine (read my follow up reply before you do this). I updated firmware by going into bootsel mode and drag/dropped the 7.9 firmware file in.
@@ekimXD So I've gone into the configurator again and tried the pin detector, this time it also said pin 14. But the first time I did it, it showed pin 21. And in my configurator it shows that I have both pin 21 and pin 14 set to touch pad. Is there anything mapped to your pin 21? Can you try mapping that one before you try updating your firmware?

Great review! I ordered one yesterday from AliExpress in the winter sale, just waiting for it to arrive. I goofed though and bought some of the Haute42 switches before watching this video. Didn't realise they weren't going to be compatible.

According to Keebmonkey, there are two versions, the old one (seems to be the one of the review) and the V2. The V2 is the one compatible with Kailh switches, and it also has different caps, made of silicone. Most Aliexpress pages show pictures (PCBs with more pins) and descriptions that match the V2. Hope you got lucky, those Wind Engine switches are great!
Nice review, i just bought one and it's my first leverless and i will play on ps5 but i didn't understand if i have to update the firmware in order to use the Booster 5 or i just need to unlock the port for it. Thank you for the video, it's really well done and relaxing to watch
Thanks for the kind words 🙏 No you don’t need to update the firmware to use the Booter 5, but you probably will need to activate the port for it. Things to note: 1. Hold triangle button when plugging in the controller to activate PS4 mode. 2. You may need to go into web config mode to activate PS5 mode if you’re going to use the older firmware. Look for my Haute42 G16 review where I show you how to do that. 3. You don’t have to upgrade to firmware 7.9 but you might want to consider it when you feel confident with GP2040 because the new firmware does have some updated options etc. all works fine without it though. 4. Join the Haute42 discord to get help with GP2040 if you need advice. Haute controllers use the same software as this DOIO pad so all the web config stuff is the same.
Thank you 🙏 I do want to, the Pro V2 looks good! But it depends on if a distributer wants me to take a look at it. Keebmonkey sent me this H04 but I don't think they have the Pro V2. I would say the Pro V2 chassis is just as high quality as the H04, but bigger (it's 310mm, longer than the Kitsune and M Plus, so great for lap play and lazy wrists) and with a really cool QCF logo engraved in the corner. The button caps are PBT and I think it has a cable lock. You'd have to do research on the switches but they can probably be swapped out, I think it also has dual compatibility, which sounds like it can take Gateron and Kailh style switches. Hopefully a distributer does decide to send one out at some point and I can go into more detail. Thanks again for the kind words :)

I just ordered the KBGM-H06 version which i assume is the H04 with an added acrylic wrist rest for artwork. Really looking forward to getting it but it's a big shame that other low profile switches don't fit? I just ordered some kailh low profile white rain switches too but I guess those won't fit when I get them.
It depends if it's the dual hotswap version. There is a H06 Pro version that says it can take both Gateron and Kailh style switches on the product page. Hopefully you got that version!
@@VidVayder Just an update for those that might be interested. I just got the H06 Pro version in the mail delivered and the first thing I did was try to customize the switches. And from my testing the Kailh low profile switches I got are compatible, therefore the haute 42 windengine and other low profile switches like lofree are as well.

@@mantryl Haha it's just because the pinky button is indeed still a bit of a rarity. The R16 is very popular though so I would imagine more controller manufacturers could take their lead. Or maybe Haute42 themselves will iterate on it a little. They seem to be making small adjustments lately to please their fans.
For both player one? No it’s one controller per player/account. You can’t tap buttons on this then pick up your pad and control the same character without switching the controller.
How does this compare to the M16 plus? I know there's a bigger version of the Dioi, I'd assume has a similar level of functionality and construction. How any major differences between the brands that would sway a decision one way or the other?
Chassis: 1. DOIO has a matte finish compared to M Plus’s smooth finish. 2. DOIO has printed legends for the function buttons. You have to memorise the M Plus ones. Buttons: 1. M Plus has all large buttons. 2. M Plus has smoother buttons. 3. Imo your fingers have to stretch wider for M Plus playing experience. Switches: 1. M Plus uses Kailh style 2. DOIO uses Gateron (unless you get the dual compatibility version). Sound: 1. I like the creamier sound of the M Plus especially with Wind Engine switches. To me DOIO sounds hollow. In my opinion, the DOIO looks cuter, and M Plus sharp and clean. All this is to say, it’s down to aesthetic, aural and tactile preference. I don’t think you would be disappointed with either
@@nilyaj Yeah I have tried a Split layout (Tikitaka) and I like it. It looks like the DOIO Pro only has one big jump button on the left though (fine if you're a left thumb jumper). I'm a right thumb jumper (don't kill me!) and the button that would be used for jump on that side is small and not very ergonomically positioned.
Plug the USB into controller, then hold start button and plug the other side into your PC/Mac. The screen should show an ip address and some other stuff. Type in that ip address into any browser. You have to be online too.
@@out-runner True. I like that my one has shelves that can slide out though. Makes taking them in and out even easier. I wish it was higher quality though. Kind of pricey for what it is.

I can confirm that the V2 can use both Kailh and Gateron switches. I'm currently using the Haute42 crystal switches and they work fine

Update: Got a Pro V2 and they seem to support Wind Engine like switches since they have a second set of pin sockets on the bottom with this layout!

I prefer 12 button layouts too. Having said that the spacing hasn’t caused me any issues with this one, and any annoying buttons can be disabled 👍

I have yes. It’s also larger (300mm length, which I prefer). But they didn’t send that one to me so I haven’t tried it yet. Looks great though!
