Irwin(or other brand) squeeze/ratchet kinda...clamps work great for holding such up off the fire/intense heat for slow cooking. You know the type, often used for woodworking projects.
Clamp to cinder block, sturdy chair, or one of the metal tables. Even clamps those long very skinny shafted camp forks and not spin... vs holding the fork 'n hot knuckles.
    tips me hat ~

same thing but use tinfoil with butter and sauce right from the get go and you dont have to worry about it leaking when you flip

I started pie iron cooking about a year ago after watching a friend make all sorts of things. I love trying new things in them, they can be used for far more than the standard bread with filling sandwich. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Awesome! The wings looked great! 👍 A couple of suggestions for next time. Try coating the wings in corn starch 1st. It'll help crisp up the wings. Maybe coat the wings in sauce in a bag or cup? Would help coat and char a bit better also instead of excess sauce burning in the pan. Have you seen the Frank's season at Walmart? 3 kinds. Reg, ranch and stinging honey. All pretty good.
    Great job as always! 👍😉😎🍻🧀

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely be making these again and will try the corn starch. They were still really crispy but I will try anything to up my wing and pie iron game.

does your pie iron pretty tightly closed. my double isn't very tightly closed. the side where the handle is has a about a 1 mm gap.

How long do you let them cook?

Probably about 20 minutes total with flipping the pie iron several times

I would just cheat and just reheat/crisp up some already made hot wings... I know, it is cheating, and more expensive..
    🤔
