Age of quarrel is a classic. I bought my copy a couple years ago for like $30. It’s skyrocketed since. I hope w/the settlement of the band issues it gets reissued
Great video and incredible records. Seven Churches is one of my all time favorites. I'm glad I held on to my collection for all these years. The prices for original presses are insane.
Loved this video. I have some of those on your list and others that I know go for a lot but I guess the most expensive in my collection (and my favorite) is Mayhem "Deathcrush" - Posercorpse pressing
great, i just sold the cro-mags & celtic frost for 20 bucks thinking it was a great price for second hand lp's plus given the fact that it's more than i've paid for back then. now i'm sad :(
As a teen in the 80s, I bought a ton of heavy metal records. Had first pressings of first 3 by Metallica, all 3 by Possessed, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost and many more. By 1996 I had replaced most everything with CDs. Marty of Worn Gear hooked me up with a friend of his who collected vinyl and I sold him dozens of records for 5 dollars each. By far, my biggest regret. I have worked on replacing them but some are just too expensive. I'll never sell my music collection again and that includes my CDs. Not blaming Marty or the guy who bought them. Marty was trying to help us both. None of us knew how expensive those first presses would eventually become.
My most valuable vinyl is Deicide by Deicide. I brought it when it first was released in the UK 🇬🇧. If I remember at the time I had to order it and it’s in mint condition.
I have the Mercyful Fate "Nuns" EP. First press, white border. And the 2nd one. Black border. I still need the 3rd press with the Bertus Distribution info on the back.
About to set my record player up again have six radio ones from my mate . Skid rows 1st album sounds bloody awesome . Cant remember the others. Great vid
Great collection mate.. Very jealous of the Overkill EP, that and the Power In Black demo are all I'm missing. I have the other records, though my Morbid Tales has no poster (despite having it advertised on the sleeve), my Apocalyptic Raids has no insert and my MF EP is a white vinyl repressing....love that record
I still can't believe I found that EP locally! I was convinced I'd have to shell out some serious cash to someone on eBay or Discogs to get it, and then there it was in one of my local shops. Crazy!
Getting Hellhammer is def on my grail list! A classic. I had the tape growing up. Love how raw and experimental that album is. Inspiring band. I've never been a fan of Danzig. Maybe someday. Misfits are ok. Hit and miss for me
Great video my friend & a very impressive collection of superb albums!! Not a bad album amongst them!! Love that Overkill ep! I have been compiling a top 25 list of my most valuable CDs, to eventually make a video, but I never seem to finish it, as like you say, they fluctuate so much!! Now I’ve seen yours, I’m inspired to finish mine!! Thanks brother!🤘🏻
Glad to hear that this inspired you to make a cool video! I might have a good collection of CDs but yours is massive. Always enjoy seeing more of it in your videos.
My most expensive Metal LP is Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse 1st press on Candlelight, I believe the median price on it is $150, the max price is in the $250 to $300 dollar range
What's wild is thinking about when that album -- or any album, really - came out and never suspecting it would one day fetch such a price. If I only had a time machine!
My most valuable is by far the Master of Puppets deluxe box set. It goes for at least $500. I also have the Metallica "Live at The House of Vans" and "Live at Webster Hall" albums that fetch around $200.
I have the Metal Blade LP of Morbid Tales, and have been tempted to snag that EP many times over the years.... If I was serious, I probably should have done it a long time ago!
Thanks for reminding me that I had all 3 Possessed records (European Roadrunner originals) and Leprosy as well, and gave them away like an idiot 30 years ago LOL. Thankfully I kept Hellhammer 🤘
Great albums by Mercyful Fate and Slayer. I have the Mercyful Fate E.P. with the black border, pressed on ltd. white vinyl. Got it for a decent price, only after finding out the lyric sheet was missing. Big deal, as I have it on the cd version, both on Rave On. Seven Churches is amazing. I have a standard black vinyl version and an opaque grey version with a poster and post card. My favourite Slayer albums are the first four on Metal Blade. I also purchased the Celtic Frost "Morbid Tales" reissue on double vinyl with 2 posters and book.
I actually have the Mercyful Fate LP, signed on the front by King Diamond (he even wrote "Nuns really do have more fun" on it) and signed by a couple other members (can't remember which ones) on the back. Has the insert as well. I bought it way back in the day as a used copy in a local record shop (closed up long ago, busted for selling bootlegs, LOL) for.........$9.99!!!!
I got kill em all when it was released, love telling the younger generation that ive got the original, also found a very old metallica t.shirt from garage days as well in the wardrobe ,that is worth some coin now lol 🤘🤘🤘

Your logic does apply to test pressings, imo they dont sound any different but are still fun to collect!

Great topic 🤘this could be a good thread topic. (In other words, I may steal it lol) Awesome records Matt. I find gold stamped, stickered and white label promos are more sort after due to first low number pressings, as I understand, the more pressings that are done the more worn the pressing plates get thus making an earlier pressing better quality and all promos were pressed first after the test pressings. And lower amounts of any collectable means higher prices. I could hardly tell audio wise with my promos vs non promos if in same condition but whatever. I have also found promos that were totally trashed by radio stations, DJs etc. So ultimately it’s about condition imo. I scored a Frozen Doberman EP rare Aussie thrash that median is $140 but at one point some dreamer had a copy on discogs for $1000 offers but wasn’t up for long. I paid $7 for mine.
Autographed "Abigail". Original black Sabbath and Paranoid. Free Manson Free Yourself Forbidden-Forbidden Evil SIGNED BY ALL MEMBERS, yes including Paul Bostaph A few of mine
My most expensive record is Mayhem The Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Original press on Death Like Silence 1994. Median on Discogs is €1012,- euro's. My top 6 are all black-metal. First heavy metal is my number 7 Ozzmosis by Ozzy Osbourne median €374,85 euro.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some of it is about an artist coming back into popularity and the result is the back catalog jacking up in price. Other factors at play, too.
God I had the chance to buy a vinyl copy of Seasons In The Abyss in a record shop I regularly visit. It was only 50€ but I wasn’t that familiar with Slayer‘s work at the time so I didn‘t buy itbecause I didn‘t know if the album was good or not. Then I bought the album brand new on CD and as soon as i listened to it i remembered that record and I got a little bit sad.

I have all 4 of the original Sex Pistols N.M.T.B. '45 UK singles including..... *1. Anarchy In The UK (1976) > $340.00* Original limited released A&M pressing before being sacked by the label. All black front & back cover. Later re-issued by Virgin Rec. with song title written on cover. *2. God Save The Queen (1977) > $45.00* *3. Pretty Vacant (1977) > $25.00* *4. Holidays In The Sun (1977) > $30.00* Original retracted by label due to copyright issue of the animated cover. (bootlegs copies were released in the 80's) Later legally re-released with original banned cover in 2007. (which dropped the value b/c it's not an illegal cover anymore)
Nice finds! Still amazed how a band with such a small discography and short shelf life made such an impact on the music world. You can hear them in so many other bands to come. Thanks for posting those.
I remember buying Celtic Frost "Morbid Tales Vinyl when it first came out. I trade it to my best friend but I don't remember what I got in return. My most expensive LPs are Bathory - Bathory on the Black Mark Production Record label. I got Metallica's Kill em all, Master Of Puppets, And Justice for all Original pressings. I got the Death Metal compilation on Noise records.
Yes, I am well aware of how the word is traditionally pronounced. However, next to no one, in reference to the band, actually says it that way, so I went with the colloquial. Thanks for commenting.
@@blakkmetal-wizkokk I don't go out of my way to dislike them nor do I go out of my way to take away from their contributions. I respect them in the canon of metal but I am not seeking out that rare 7" inch green vinyl version out take from the lost recording sessions in Affalterbach- LOL.
Why don't you check the actual release? If it's first pressing, promo, what country etc. Or if you have done so, why not mention it? Nice collection anyway!
I'm here laughing at the low and median prices you speak of. None of these albums can be had for anywhere near those prices nowadays (2 years later). I also hate the fact that people use Discogs prices nowadays to value their vinyl by when putting it on Ebay. If two or three people have the same album listed on Discogs, they're going to artificially inflate the price, which in turn, causes the Ebay price to get jacked up as well. Nothing but sheer greed at play.
Great albums. If I had to choose a favorite out of this bunch, which is VERY hard to do, I would go with Danzig. That album to me has always been such a simple, pure piece of hard rock/metal. Nothing fancy or time limiting to it. Just the basics of rock and roll and power.
I collected records starting with Kiss at 7 years old. But then an addicted relative stole all my comics and 3/4 of my vinyl. Some of the noteworthy survivors(I took good care of my stuff, even as a yungin, all are NM vinyl, sleeves are VG+/NM): OP's of the first 3 WASP OP Master of Puppets OP Peace Sells OP Speak of the Devil Slightly lesser, probably VG+ all around: OP Shout at the Devil Early press of Too Fast for Love Some recent pickups(I didn't start collecting vinyl again till about 5 year ago) that must be worthy: OP Deliverance from CoC 2 Cross Purposes I had Scream, Ozzmosis, No More Tears and Down To Earth before the box set, all costly. I've got the super rare OP's and pictures Discs of Magica and Killing the Dragon. A bunch of OP/EP from Black Sabbath, including a sealed 73/74 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Ok, enough blabbing for now.
Nice stuff , but did you censor the mercyful fate ep? 😆😆 strange how youtube gets triggerd by tits and showing napalmed children is no issue..... , anyway sweet collection and good clip , cheers mate 🤘🍺
At the time, I only had Peace Sells specifically on vinyl, and it's not as pricey as the records mentioned here. Not sure why because it's a pretty amazing album. Thanks for the compliment.
@@TheAccusationNetwork Greetings , from what I see it depends on it's members to sell and buy from within..collectors who dont really let go of stuff...on the other hand it's a killing field out on ebay.
For me, Danzig's solo work had a bit of a shelf life -- and after a few records, he really started to peter out. But, someone out there likes it, if these values are any indicator. Glad to know you've got the good ones, though. Thanks for commenting.
Well more than the value, you have a great collection! My most valuable item is Hellacopters - High Visibility (Maroon colour) on Gearhead.. it worths like $110,00.
Thanks for the compliment. Of course, the music is the most important thing. But, the whole "value" thing is fun, too. And, who knows... maybe some of this will be my retirement fund. ;)
I originally pronounced it with an S back in the '80s -- like Tom Warrior did. Then he changed his mind some time in the '90s and went to the K sound. I went that route over time as well. Ultimately, if you like the band, pick whichever pronunciation you like.
Which of these albums are your favorites? Do YOU have records in your own collection that increased in value over the years? Let me know that and anything else in the comments below.

I have all 3 original Possessed Vinyls. My dad got them back in 80’s and let me have them. Very stoked to own them

OP Speak of the Devil
Slightly lesser, probably VG+ all around:
OP Shout at the Devil
Early press of Too Fast for Love
Some recent pickups(I didn't start collecting vinyl again till about 5 year ago) that must be worthy:
OP Deliverance from CoC
2 Cross Purposes
I had Scream, Ozzmosis, No More Tears and Down To Earth before the box set, all costly.
I've got the super rare OP's and pictures Discs of Magica and Killing the Dragon.
A bunch of OP/EP from Black Sabbath, including a sealed 73/74 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Ok, enough blabbing for now.
Nice list. Thanks for sharing.
Nice stuff , but did you censor the mercyful fate ep? 😆😆 strange how youtube gets triggerd by tits and showing napalmed children is no issue..... , anyway sweet collection and good clip , cheers mate 🤘🍺
I had 400+ Vinyls from the 80’s. Can’t imagine what they would be worth. Lost them all in a flood. Still makes me i’ll, that was 20 years ago.
Ugg! Awful. Do you still collect now (again)?

Yes I am collecting again.
You know your metal for sure, i love most of those, but why no megadeth? 😐
At the time, I only had Peace Sells specifically on vinyl, and it's not as pricey as the records mentioned here. Not sure why because it's a pretty amazing album. Thanks for the compliment.
Definitely I do not agree with Discogs value estimator.. What about sealed mint original copies.....for example Kill em All sealed could fetch 1K.
Yeah, it's a gauge of sorts but not exactly written in stone or irrefutable. I get ya.
@@TheAccusationNetwork Greetings , from what I see it depends on it's members to sell and buy from within..collectors who dont really let go of stuff...on the other hand it's a killing field out on ebay.
Pretty bold of you to disagree with mathematics. 😄 They aren't making up these numbers, it's based on actual sales histories.
Bought all of these when they came out - except Danzig [zzzzzz].
And, who knows... maybe some of this will be my retirement fund. ;)
[K]eltic Frost or [S]eltic Frost? I pronounce it [S]eltic Frost.
I originally pronounced it with an S back in the '80s -- like Tom Warrior did. Then he changed his mind some time in the '90s and went to the K sound. I went that route over time as well. Ultimately, if you like the band, pick whichever pronunciation you like.
