Wow! Not only does my Virtualbox Fedora virtual machine run super-fast now but it fixed all the sound problems on my virtual machine that I have been pulling my hair out trying to fix. Awesome!
Give this guy a medal. I almost cried after this got fixed. searched whole internet for this and all i would get was SEO'd websites telling me to update my gpu driver 😅. you won't believe how much i searched internet for this(nearly a week). I can't thank you enough. Just thank you thank you thank you.
couldn't thank you much. i have been struggling with my VMware since a week of time and your tutorial helped like a magic. now the VM is running at such a smooth pace that i could have never imagined. thanks again bro for your support.

Have the same issue on a brand new VM Win 10 ISO - runs like a dog, tried all these commands - no joy whatsoever! Turned out it was core isolation that killed my performance - it is 30 to 50 times faster now - many, many thanks! Now I just have to work out why shared drives (mapped to shares) aren't appearing. Making very good progress tonight on my very first VM!
I'm using a Ryzen 9 7900 and ran into this same problem on my Windows 11 virtual machine on VMware workstation pro 17.5 I fortunately didn't have to turn off core isolation. turns out I needed to install VMware Tools on the guest machine and then reboot the VM and everything felt super fast and snappy.
Great videos man, keep up the good job. One request, if possible. Can you show us how to make a custom recovery partition, one that you can boot in and re- install windows, but with all the drivers and software that one chooses already configured. Like Dell recovery partitions, that erase all the hard drive, except the recovery partition, and then install windows completely unattended until OOBE section. It's it possible to do that for ourselves?
I’ve had this problem with my Windows 2000 VM, it would hang up at the “Starting Windows” screen even though the OS had loaded, I would have to wait for like 2 minutes for the log on prompt to appear. Keep in mind my machine is not slow at all, though it’s 6 years old and running a beta version of Windows 11, and doesn’t meet Windows 11’s system requirements in the first place (the CPU not being supported is the cause).
Here is missing a lot of expletation around virtual machine, but anyway you are missing a breaking command to increase the performance: powercfg /powerthrottling disable /path "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\x64\vmware-vmx.exe" this command disable power power throttling for the wmware deamond, this is a new "featiure" of windows 11 ensure you cannot drain your battery in 10 second, but at the same time decide how much power wmware can use, but we need power so this avoiud windows slow down the machine. Oneother tip is run the virtual machine with "Virtualize Intel VT-X/EPT or AMD -V-RVI" this can help the virtual machin to use directly the hardware
Thank you. I tried all 3, but the Core Isolation one didn't work for me, I could not turn it off, but the other 2 did something!. Just a quick question. I notice you use a paid VMWare instead of a free one like Oracle VMWare,. Do you find a paid VM is better than a free one? Thank you!
Thanks Brian but I have 100% CPU usage on my Win 11 VM running in VMware in Windows 10. It's a high spec gaming laptop and the VM has 8Gb of RAM with 4 threads of the i7 CPU. Have run the above fixes to no avail. Any suggestions?

just want to know how to use a SCSI drive instead of SATA or NVME drive cuz when you select paravirtualization scsi i/o you get almost bare-metal speed in Linux vms or at least close to the type 1 hypervisor like hyper-v every time I select SCSI drive Windows installation can't detect it

I had a look at VMware cause I was curious and I am using Oracle WM at the moment, then competely froze! 150 QUID? For a VM? Why? No VM is worth that. I will stick with free.
0:22 - plenty for a virtual machine. ROFL said who? There are plethora of reasons why you need to crank the performance to the absolute max with a virtual machine. Not everybody needs it, but lots of us do.

Hi can anyone advise:- does a VM create a timing disadvantage at all e.g anyone who trades horse racing events needs split second timing to gain an edge over other traders. So if I was to create a trading setup (Bet Angel linked to Betfair Exchange) with in a VM would I be at a timing disadvantage? Thanks.

You can upgrade to Workstation Pro 16. It has features that work better with Hyper-V enabled..

Theres a tip, if you put 24GB ram on your vmware if your computer has 16gb ram it will run slow.
So, core isolation does slow down your computer (virtually).
