Quel plaisir de voir (et d'écouter) les "Tuba Skinny" se mélanger à un orchestre de village simplement pour faire de la musique!
Un grand souvenir pour l'orchestre de Blauzac...
J'adore Tuba skinny. J'aime les suivre. J' étais en France li y quelques années et dans L'armée Américaine il y ya longtemps. Un ricain.

19:29 'Everybody Loves My Baby', composed in 1922 by Jack Palmer and Spencer Williams, played here in D minor.
24:05 'Wabash Blues', composed in 1921 by Dave Ringle and Fred Meinken, played here in E flat.
28:46 'Down By The Riverside', a plantation spiritual, played here in B flat.
Great performance by the Blauzac Big Band with major contributions by the members of Tuba Skinny. What an inspiration for these mainly amateur players to have such top-class musicians participating amongst them, with enthusiastic appreciation being shown by players and audience alike.

I am 84 years old now have only 20% of my heart left and I survived cancer in 1983 they told me when I had the massive heart attack that I only had five years to live, then back in 18 years ago. They thought we had four months to live.

Exactly! Musicians as skillful as the TS gang often protect themselves by performing only in a particular way. But this band loves music enough to have fun doing it different ways.

There's sheet music there but Shaye's playing with her eyes shut. She's such a character.
I looked at the clarinettist in front of Craig as he played his first solo. It was as though he couldn't believe how Craig managed to improvise so well. Did Tuba Skinny have a look at the music beforehand or were they playing by ear (hear the tune once and you know it)?
@@BudgieJane Jane, I really don't know how TS work, I've heard that they work from really rudimentary notes when learning a tune. But Craig, well, I guess he's been playing so long and in so many different bands, he can probably improvise in his sleep.

This was a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic amateur band to play alongside top professionals. They will have learnt so much, and gained confidence from the experience. Many famous professionals do this sort of thing. That's how we get the musicians of the next generation.
