Success! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I'm glad you are having some good MTH experiences. Thanks for the shout out. I'm certainly going to have to make some more MTH content now 😁
Yes! Yes! Yes! The video I’ve been waiting for. I’m so happy that you’re finally able to use it and enjoy it. Big shout out to Jeremy for helping you. Jeremy is a great guy. I still hope that if you go a factory reset with the DCS, the Amtrak will work. Thanks for the shout out Ray. Enjoy running and buying MTH. I was going to suggest a subway set but you can’t do the station stops with that remote, so I suggest you get a Big Boy!
@RaysTrains especially nice feeling to see us train guys working to help each other. We come out the other end of the tunnel with better trains, better friendships. One reach out at a time. Gary
Ah, your first remote and you got it to work. Big shout out for sure Corey and Jeremy!!! It won't be long I bet before you will be going full command control, lol. Enjoyed the video, Ray, awesome job! Bill B.
I did y 2 part review series on this system. My only complaint is that if you run passenger cars, the lights get too hot that they leave hotspots on the top part of the roof of the cars. I’ll be making the solution in a upcoming video that I’m working on
Awesome, glad you got that working, I run my remote commander in passive mode and it works pretty good, I leave it connected all the time no issues, and you can run dcs and legacy on the same line the signals don't bother each other.
Great video. One of my DCS explorers died. Got out my DCS remote and used it to run my MTH PS3 premier Amtrak Genesis engine. Had to factory reset the engine to get remote to work. I was going to sell my DCS remotes but have decided I need to keep them just in case MTH stops supporting the apps in the future. My kids had a virtual reality view master and the app was discontinued and they couldn’t use the view master anymore. Going to buy another LionChief remote just in case. I love the Lionel and MTH apps but they may not be there forever.
Very nice, Ray. I think that is a cool system. It would be good for someone like me, who's layout fairly decent sized, to add some ability to run MTH, if anyone brings some over to run. I run conventional, so having something that guests can use, is a good thing. Either way, it's good that you got it working and you can use your MTH engine and get the sounds out of it, instead of running like a conventional locomotive. An excellent video, as always.
Great job Ray! What MTH engines should you go for? Speaking personally they're all good, I haven't had a bad one yet. Considering the size of your layout I'd suggest going with MTH's RailKing series, they'd be a good fit for the layout and the prices are VERY reasonable. Since you like diesels some of the Premiere scale sized units might work as well but you'd have to be sure of your clearances and curve diameters. Premiere's are going to cost more as well. Thanks for posting!
Won't be long now Ray😊. Pass up the DCS remote and get the DCS app I run all my MTH on my ipad, tons of options, have you seen the app in operation yet?
I think train makers think less about design and more about redesign so that you need new equipment and new cars. It evolves so quickly that they become obsolete before they can get dusty.
All this new electronic stuff really does stink sometimes trying to learn how it works. I have American Flyer S Scale TMCC and Legacy engines and also MTH Proto 3 S Scale. The directions are all for 3 rail. Of course s scale is two rail. That is really hard finding how to get it working. I sure get your frustration though! I also watch Jeremy as he does both scales. Thanks for another great video Ray! Cbtrainnut, Chris
Ray I also run my whole layout with it no problems, if u run conventional Trains just put on track and u power supply to control engine same with Bluetooth stuff u don’t have to disconnect dcs
I got p2 that runs on that you have to clear board (reset) and then hit I think sound button then direction then up n down on speed button in the middle, I love mine most of my stuff is modern p3 and those controllers are fairly cheap compared to other stuff 👍
Would the DCS Explorer work for you, I brought one and tried it out on my test track and it worked well using the phone app. The Explorer isn't as good as a TIU but I only have a few MTH Engines, and the phone app seems to have ebough functions for me.

UH OH RAY, I MAY HAVE TO TAKE THE PLUNGE INTO MTH ENGINES. CONGRATS YOU LIONEL TRAITOR. 😆
@@ARMYVETT You definitely need some MTH in your life!
Let's go!! Glad you got it working! I didn't know you could run it off track power alone. Subbed to Jeremy's channel too - Ryan
Congratulations Ray on getting it to work! Thats pretty cool! 👍
Very Nice Ray, thanks for the video

Yep, it’s called passive mode without the power supply.
