Inking process with brush and pens | Timelapse | Artem Mortis

- This video is a timelapse of me hand-inking a logo for one of my clients, Artem Mortis. Before inking, I completed a rough sketch, scanned it in to Photoshop and then, once approved, I printed it out at 10% transparency on to a sheet of paper and inked over the top.
I used both a brush and a pen for this piece, as well as some white-out paint at the end, for highlights.
If you have any questions at all, please leave a comment. Thanks for watching!

That's precisely the state of mind I resonate with, getting in touch with the hand beyond the art, it's like getting a hand written note with your order. Thanks a lot guys, and thank you Mike, ian from Paris.
Hey Ian, thanks for your comment. It all started as art and found its way on to T-shirts, so I try and keep it as close as possible to how we began. That includes a hand-made feel to the art and a proper customer service. Hopefully I am doing it right. :) Really pleased that you liked the note. Mike loves writing them!
This is extremely satisfying to watch
Finally.I'm so glad you've got a channel
Thanks man. Got another video that I am editing that shows the rest of the design that this image was for. Should be up by Monday.
Your art is absolutely wonderful!

damn dude this is great
Thank you for sharing this. I was wondering what is your work process :)
Thanks for leaving a comment. The process occasionally gets changed, but this is where I am right now with it. Hope to upload more videos soon, that show different parts of it.
Who's music are you playing during the video
For the luv of God man ! Who's music are you playing on this video?
It's called Umbra of Mind by the band Cambrian Explosion!
Do you add just a bit of water to your black acrylic? Or more water than black acrylic? ? Cus daaamn its rlly good!!
Hey! I use FW (or sometimes Magic Colour) black acrylic ink. It's thicker than Indian ink, but a lot more fluid than acrylic paint. I use the pipette that comes with the bottle to drop a little bit out on a palette and then as I am using it, I introduce a tiny drop of water eery so often when I fill the brush, just to make it run a little more smoothly. You could use the stuff straight from the bottle, but I find for fine lines, like the horns at 3:25, it allows for smoother lines.
wow wow wooow
Wat paper do you use to ink??
Really awesome, I loved watching this!! Did you dilute that ink that you applied with the brush? It still looked pretty dark on the paper but looked runny on the palette. Thanks!
Who's music !?
Its gorgeous. What ink did you use? May I know the brand?
I thinks its India ink
What’s the background song name...
Did anyone knows the song title?
Hey man. The song is called Umbra of the Mind by a wicked band called Cambrian Explosion. Check out the rest of their music on Soundcloud. They are ace!
Guauuuuu!!!!
What’s the Music please ? Nice artwork
Where do i get the picture/reference?
Hey John. The picture is one I drew for the client, so there is no reference/copy available.
hi! what is this music? tnx.
Where can I get these Trace things?
What trace thing do you mean?
@@LaMortLondon well I guess what are you doing? I want to try it.
Logan Pittam The thing I am inking over is a very faint print of a pencil drawing I did.
@@LaMortLondon LOL that's very cool thank you. I am subscribed and we'll still be watching your vids.
Logan Pittam You’re welcome mate.
Song?
Umbra of Mind by Cambrian Explosion
what ink you use?
FW black acrylic ink
So satanic.... I love it
Thank you!
Itu njiplak ya?
are you a tattoo artist
I’ve been fucking hand drawing all my symmetric work this entire time lol that looks way easier
Dude, it took me years to work out quicker ways to do things. Now I build everything into my process to make sure I don't screw anything up along the way!
La Mort London can you do a tutorial on how you do your prints. I have a Wacom with manga studio paint and it has the symmetrical tool but I’m still not use to switching from paper/pencil to drawing device
Hey man. I don't ink/draw with a Wacom. I only use pen and paper like in the video. I am drawing over a faint print out of a pencil drawing. Which bit are you stuck with? I'll try and help.
La Mort London ah ok never mind I thought you were drawing with the symmetric tool in one of the art programs then printing it out. That’s real cool.
Ahh, I get it. If you have Photoshop CC 2018, it has a symmetry mode built in which is one of the best things ever!
Evil but it's alright
I'm 18 and I can literally sketch better than this without tracing !!
Disha Banerjee I’m not tracing in this video. I draw everything in pencil first and then scan it in. Once that’s done I print my original drawing in 8% cyan and ink over the top. It’s a lot cleaner working over a cyan print than actual pencil artwork. It’s how a lot of comic book artists do it, so that the blue under-drawing can easily be removed afterwards without compromising the ink work.
