    The oil rebranding just killed me rofl! That plastic "spout" on the power steering fluid container is legit. Great to clear off small niggling items of Shaken.

      Thanks! Yeah, the pour spout definitely helps control the mess...I edited out the part though where I overflowed the PS reservoir and still ended up making a mess! 😂 I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

    10/10 oil gag.
    Glad to see you getting good use out of your Batter Monitor even if it's not for the best reasons! It's one of those products that's nice to have but you hope to not need too often😂
    Awesome job on the fault finding and I'm BLOWN away but the change in engine movement? Have you not changed engine mounts or anything? That's crazy to me!

    • @BRICKHOUSESPL
      @BRICKHOUSESPL  2 роки тому +1

      The Battery Monitor has been super handy as you've seen. Such an easy way to check what's going on.
      The old mounts were shot so the fresh ITR mounts definitely made a world of difference. I did Nismo mounts on my old S13 and it was the same thing - simple part with dramatic effect. Less engine movement makes the car feel more responsive/faster. Just stay away from poly mounts on street cars unless you like tingly fingers. Haha. Learned that lesson twice. 😅

    I recently fitted a set of power folding mirrors in my Civic EG. A couple thoughts that may help you as our cars are probably extremely similar.
    Firstly, the relay under the dash with the blue connector is only for the folding functionality and has nothing to do with the mirror adjustment. So just because your mirrors adjust, doesn’t mean that relay is working correctly.
    That relay has 12v, ground, and a signal wire from the switch. It then has 2 output wires for fold in and fold out. Each of these output wires are split so that each mirror has a fold in signal and a fold out signal. I would firstly check for continuity between the switch and relay, and then check if the switch wire is sending 12v to the relay when pressing the fold button. Then confirm that the relay is getting power and is grounded. You should be able to hear/feel the relay click when the mirrors start folding, and then click again when they stop folding.
    Next check for continuity between the relay output wires and the terminals at the mirrors (both the fold in and fold out wires). Then check these same wires at the mirror connectors for 12v when pressing the fold button.
    I suspect it’s something with the relay or wiring as it’s unlikely both mirror motors have failed (not impossible though!).
    Goodluck!

      Excellent write up - thank you for taking the time to break it down! Once I get a multimeter, it will be game on for figuring out what's going on! Great resource here to refer back to - hopefully it helps someone else as well. Also, do your fold switch button stay down when you press it (my van's does) or does it just go down and come right back up? I don't recall how mine was before I pulled it apart and want to make sure I didn't screw mine up! haha, whoops.

      Yoooo, that is super helpful - thank you! Is there a reason it would be missing and/or those other wise are cut? Or should I try and find that control box and plug it in? Currently, when I cycle the key in the door lock it won't automatically unlock the passenger side, would this solve that? Appreciate any insight you have. I'm going to have to research it more as well. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

    Hey Steve, your RVM motors are most likely seized TFU
    You may have a blown fuse, but if you change it and it blows again then you may have a better time just looking for used RVM in order to transplant the motors.
    You're almost there for shaken, keep it up

    • @BRICKHOUSESPL

    • @y.b.-
      @y.b.- 2 роки тому

      @@BRICKHOUSESPL Looks like it yes, (Rear View Mirror, RVM) . Have you tried folding em by hand? try very gently and see if they move or not, alternatively you could directly power em alternating the polarity in very small bursts and see if there is movement/sound.
      I am not sure on these mirrors but you are either looking at a screw type motor (like for many power windows) or geared one, but either way there is polarity to them to reverse the turn direction

      They also had some plastic jug style but it was premixed. A lot of times, like laundry detergent, refill packs are sold in plastic bags like that since you likely already have the solid plastic container at home. So that might be more the thought with this stuff.
