Thanks for the video, i stayed 3 nights in hoboken our room had a fabulous view of the hudson and its various forms of traffic i loved it, caught the water taxi /ferry into NYC walked on the walkway where you were looking at the fabulous view with the nyc skyline, the tesler cyber truck is dreadful 😮 Brought back memories for me 😊
I once met a man from Nottingham, who introduced me to a man from Worcestershire (which I have heard is the best of the shires, although Tolkien may have had something to say about that), and now I find myself mooching around Toronto trying to purchase a 30 year old Volvo 850 with a manual transmission, heated leather seats, premium sound system, and a panoramic sunroof so I can see the white trails in the sky like Ray Liotta avoiding the helicopters in Goodfellas. UB40 had it right. You gotta keep on moving.....onwards that is. Thankyou for the videos Gentlemen.
Thank you very much. for this very interesting video which I really enjoyed watching. The views from the ferry are fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the next one. Take care of yourself and stay safe Mildred. xxx
Loved this vlog Been years since I’ve been in New York & you are right … they certainly go all out for Halloween.. though agree it is so expensive to eat out ( even worse than Dublin lol) Very enjoyable vlog x👍👍
Hi Lee, firstly, think my DB9 might give the Taycan a scare up to 60! Secondly i love the look of Hoboken, are there any decent hotels there where i could stay and then take the ferry to Manhattan? I love New York but it might be nice to base myself somewhere quieter. Anyhow, appointment came in fo hip replacement on 28th November, then 6-8 weeks afterwards, get the second one done, wait 4 months then fit to fly long haul again! Get in! Said it before, this US series has been phenomenal, well done!👍👏👏♥️🏴🇺🇸
Great video so far, loving seeing Hoboken again after my visit in March this year. But I've booked up for New York in March 2025 again, so I'm definitely going to visit Hobokem again. Onwards. 🕶
@@sylviaryan2469 think most of us are happier in USA than the dreaded dump UK I’d love to be able to live in New York , Florida, Philadelphia is wonderful too. Prices have gone up here in the U.S definitely. However, you only show visits in exorbitantly expensive places like L.A, NYC and Vegas. The rest of us around the country do not pay 23 dollars for that meal. 😮 Prices are still way too high in general but you can’t judge the U.S based on those cities. One more week and then we turn the ship around to prosperity!
I remember noticing in Manchester someone had removed the first letters from the 'Canal Street' sign. Which if you know the area is kind of appropriate.
Halloween was never a big thing in Britain as I remember as a kid a turnip cut out, no pumpkins. Now Guy Fawkes and bonfire night penny for the guy that was the night
Hi Lee. Just become a subscriber. Enjoying your trip around the USA. Not been to the states since the mid 90's but would love to visit again especially New York one of my favourite places. Thanks for the video, watching from New Zealand.
Just spent 6 weeks in California, used to live there, hadn’t been back for 8 years, fast food prices have doubled, food in supermarket is ridiculously expensive, I lost 4 kilos through eating less! Oh, and the locals are asking for a $30 an hour minimum wage. Pretty soon the rest of the world will realise how expensive it is there and international tourism will suffer.
Midnight Cowboy (1969). The scene was completely unplanned and unscrioted. But the actors stayed in focus and such a natural thing for Hoffman's character to say that they kept it in.
You do not need to tip in fast food restaurants. You order at the front cashier or through a kiosk and then pick up your order when called. There are no waiters or waitresses! You are just throwing your money away!
I adore New York - it's by far my favourite city in the world. I love the people and the architecture, When I'm not there, I'm thinking about being there and every time I'm leaving JFK, I'm already planning my next visit. I feel much safer in NYC than I do in London (I'd never take my phone out unless I had to in London these days). And you're so right about the West Village - it's simply gorgeous. My favourite spot, however, is Bryant Park - I could sit there for hours on a summer day.
You can still vist part of England in Manhattan, During WW2, Bristol was bombed relentlessly and it left many houses destroyed, but today this rubble makes up part of Manhattan in New York, taken back to New York as ships ballast and used as foundations on the east river.
Hi Lee really enjoyed your video. Great sights&sounds around Hoboken&New York City lovely weather to match. From the movie”Midnight Cowboy”. Made in 1969 scene in question is Dustin Hoffman crossing the street &a car moving he stops&bangs his hand on the bonnet Jon Voight looks shocked great scene from a great movie many thanks sharing your trip with us👍 Geninuely thought you were mugged thankfully all staged nice looking cap as well but will you still wear your lucky cap? What, no Daleks for Halloween? Food prices have gone up and in many states, so have minimum wages. People cannot live on the Federal minimum of $7.25 per hour that has not increased since 2009. Even worse is a lower youth minimum and even lower tipped minimum. Both New York and New Jersey now have minimums over $15 per hour and I think the workers deserve it, so I will gladly pay more. The property prices and rents have increased for two reasons: Demand and greed.

East village my favourite but because of The Ramones my favourite band haha, and cbgb, and Blondie etc , watching your video and you're passing so many places where musicians lived including Madonna's apartment 😃xx
Those Cobbles Stones where originally BALLAST off the Sailing ships, as Return trips to Liverpool /Manchester the ships was heavily overloaded with Cotton + other goods.
Really enjoying the videos from this trip. Makes me want to go back to new York. Was the crane on its side in the park an art exhibition or an accident?

Good Evening Lee. I really liked the footage of you doing a Mooch through " HOBOKEN. America does really go to town with it's Halloween Decorations and they just have that real Scaryness about them. Totally agree about your comments regarding mobile / smart phones! Millions have become addicted. imo just as bad as any other addictions including the ones which many die of... so sad. As for using speaker phone Lee, that in many cases may be because people are becoming aware of the dangerous EMR's these devices produce which have been linked to brain cancer. (Normally in those who use the phone against the head regularly and for long calls.) 🤕😕😐
Tip on fast food thats ridiculous. Have been put off going to the US simply due to the cost of eating out and groceries last time i went i was shocked by the prices in supermarkets in Florida. Its a shame really because I always love visiting the US.
Its all about Greed, Shake Shack's food is no better than McDonalds, Id even say its worse but Lee likes it, the company had its hand out for a Massive $10 Million welfare cheque to help small business's when we had the pandemic, they were shamed into giving it back when the news came out.

The turnips are traditional: pumpkins are after 1492 in Europe, and probably never used as lanterns by the natives in the Americas.
Maybe a toffee apple or two !

most purchases are card these days and before you authorise they ask for a tip even at fast food locations
