- In this tutorial, I will show you How to Create Abstract Liquid Background using Photoshop and Illustrator.
About The Randomus Script
In this tutorial, I use the randomus script to mix the artwork colors in Illustrator.
This Illustrator script was created by Alexander Ladygin, He also made many useful Illustrator scripts. (www.ladygin.pro)
The functions of this script are:
Random fill color, Random stroke color, Random scale, Random rotate, Random opacity, Random position X, Y.

i would love to do your tutorial but i dont have the render filter... how is this possible ? and i cant right click on the layers too. i have the 2019 edition of illustrator i don't understand... the video just started and i'm already blocked... :( i'm a beginner so excuse me if the question is idiot ^^'

I am facing a problem, 4:05, when you move to the swatches window, that doesn't work with me, which makes me incapable of choosing the randomization process of the colors, it just chooses all the swatches, tried it multiple times and it just doesn't work, could it be that the new version doesn't allow that? if so do you happen to have any fixes for it? thank & keep it up.

Just group the colors and click on the group Or you can hold shift or ctrl to select specific colors

Randomus is a script that allow you to mix the colors, you need install the script to illustrator to use it.

Excellent! I have a question. At 4:05 in the video you are within the randomus script and then select the swatch group to reference the group colors. I cannot do this. I can select the swatch group and then open the script and select 'fill swatch' and it will fill with my group colors but when I select 'fill swatches' again it references all the swatch colors and I am unable to just select the group colors. I would like to be able to press the 'fill swatches' again to try out different patterns. It looks like you could do this in your video. How did you do this?

there is no special trick behind it. I do it as seen in the video, just need to select the color group and then press fill swatches again
I'm on a mac using illustrator 2019 and I am unable to do that. I get the boink noise when I try to select the swatch group with the script window open. :( Thanks for the tutorial

Incredible tutorial. Only thing, when I click on "fill swatches" on the randomus script it doesn't let me select the colors on the right until I close the randomus window. So I cannot change the colors. Any thoughts? Thanks so much, new subscriber!

Скрипт крут, но к сожалению не работает с конкретным набором свочей, просто рандомит из всех наборов. При активной панели скрипта невозможно выбрать набор свотчей
Random option doesn't have me. please tell me how to find it.
Three problems I encountered following your procedure :
@ 4:05 can't select the swatch by clicking on the swatch panel once the randomus panel is open. I can only cycle through the swatches with the randomus Fill Swatches button.
@ 4:26 cant change individual colors unless I expand the image first, otherwise all the colors are changed.
@ 5:30 the Oil Paint filter is grayed out

I am a PC user, I have no experience how the randomus script works in Illustrator (Mac).
On PC the script works fine.

I have tried to make cloud on Adobe Photoshop 2019 but it is not the same as you. what's the solution?
maybe start with running on Photoshop 2020.
I tried it on Mac and the step between Swatches and script doesnt work as it has been mentioned below. Once I open the script window I cannot click on the swatches. I tried choosing the colors first and then opening the script window still wont work. Would you happen to know how to fix this? Thanks a lot!
Sorry, I am pc user 😅
But just for remember, make sure you check your fill and stroke before using the script, If you want to randomize the fill color make sure the Fill on the top.

Hi, I can't use OIL PAINT because it is not available when I select the final design in Photoshop (second time)...WHY ....???
Dont convert the artwork to smart object, just try with normal layer.
I dont know why, I think in cs6 version you cant apply smart filter.
@@nobudesign I use Photoshop 2020 . The only way to acess to filter galery is when my image is in 8bits...but even in 8bits the only fx not available is OIL PAINT ... Do you think is because of my RAM (just 8Go) ?

@@christopheboutigny8338 1st make sure you are working on RGB 8 Bit (Image > Mode).
Then check Edit > Preferences > Performance . Make sure "use graphics processor" is enabled. And then click on "advanced settings" and check "Use OpenCL" is enabled.
HELPPP I'm using ps and ai 2021 and I cannot copy and paste the work on photoshop to illustrator for some reasons like the video at 1:27

Ctrl + A and Ctrl + shift + C, go to illustrator > create new doc > Ctrl + V. Also, you can save the artwork in photoshop as image (png/jpg) and open/place it in Illustrator

that's because I use high resolution document (3000 * 3000px), you need zoom closer to see posterize effect.

I tried it, took a lot of time because I had to do everything in German and now I stuck at "SCRIPS" - "RANDOMUS". I just don't have that in my scripts do you know why? So frustrating!

1:46 when I'm trying to paste nothing happening... I choose Copy Merged in Photoshop and then try to paste in AI and nothing, still wight BG... ??
Make sure you select all first (ctrl + A ) then choose Copy Merged, or just save as (png or jpg) the artwork and then drag the image to Ai
