COMPLIMENTS ! On your video, very informative, it was like visiting an old friend and chatting about The Labour of Love of Car Restoration. I had quite a few 914's back in the day, I fell in love with one by going down the alley and saw this silver 914 in a garage with no license plate which said to me, Hi ! I could be yours ! It was a 2l with Porsche wheels ,the year was 1986 ,guy wanted $1000 ,it was rusty too ,the doors were sagging, you had to slam the doors shut otherwise the door would flex etc etc . Behind the drivers seat , you had to put a piece of plywood so you could keep the water from the road at bay , Also there was a Gas leak ! I was told from the VW mechanic who reluctantly worked on it that I was driving a Bomb ,and he ORDERED me to GET RID OF IT ! I put some silver duct tape over the rear 1/4 panels/ top door jams drove it around for a couple weeks sold the Porsche Rims for 400 CAR for 800 ,and then, The real hunt began ,I had bought and Sold somewhat restored Many 914 's in 2 years .The 914 was considered the Ugly Duckling and most Mechanics saw me come into their Shop and turned and walked away ,OR Thought ... "What Can I Do You For " I had Fallen in Love with On rails feeling and the Sound of a Fine Tuned 2l or 1.8 l Vw engine. I did a lot of talking with people, before I bought my 1st 914 Most People Said Stay Away ...Or Run Away !.. Rapping this up ,otherwise it will become a Long Novel ,If One is to do Restoration on a 914 You Gotta Love The Car,and Understand and Update & Modify The Shortcomings , One has to know Intimately everything about the 914 ,Only & ONLY IF YOU LOVE TO HAVE THAT SWEET DRIVING EXPERIENCE Which I also got from a race ready Datsun 510 in Vancouver. I Also had a Race ready 914 with Weber Carbs ...The Driving of that Car was as Good As SEX !...So you have to be in Love with the Car and the Feel of the Drive & brush off The Snobbery that comes from " real Porsche owners" and just enjoy !
This rotisserie came from Princess Auto and for the money it’s pretty good. It was on sale there in September for about $1500 if I recall correctly. No complaints on the hardware but would have been much better if the instructions described how to properly balance the chassis.
