      No, it's 2 Cellos, 2 Violas and 6 violins!
Edit. Those larger ones on the left, above the Cellos are the 2 Violas. On the right, 6 violins (3 second violins up the step and 3 first violins down).

Actually, in a way you're right because these all come from the violin family...the soprano, the alto and the tenor (and bass) members of the violin family respectively...so just like bigger violins.
Unlike the "double bass" which comes comes from a different family, the older "viols family" of which it's the contra bass (or double bass) and bass member. These are thicker, with slanted shoulders and and a humped boat-like shaped back. Interesting, don't you think?

Eight thousand people isn't bad turnout when competing in a genre no longer as dominant as it once was. The largest ticketed audience in America was something over one hundred thousand people. The average was something like twelve thousand.
It all depends on how much media coverage there is, how well advertised the event, where it is, and how popular the group is. I'm pretty certain for the venue they chose, they filled it to bursting.
Also, you must remember these girls are competing for attention with big name bands decades old and well-known, like Metalica, Three Days Grace, and Muse.

I'm 72 years old and a rock and roll dinosaur from way back and I am so damned glad I found The Warning. All I can say is what took me so long. If they ever come to my area, I'm there, even if I have to go by myself. One thing I do wonder is does Pau ever think of doing a solo album of just her and the piano. She has such a beautiful voice and I love her piano playing every bit as much as I love her drumming. Not that I want her to break away from the band, but just curious.

Brilliant recording of all three songs. Its great being down the front at a gig. But there are times that being that close, means you don't get to see the bigger picture. The multi-directional lights going mental at the end of E.S. being one of those moments when standing at the back pays off. Stunning

    • @michaelcgn1090
      @michaelcgn1090 7 місяців тому +1

But this is not the feeling you get there standing in the blinded lines of audience. It's awful, it's distracting, you are unable to get in to the song, you always try to protect your eyes, you are unable to watch what happens on stage. You can bear this probably one or two times in a minute but not like here in such intensity. The beams of such flash light must not hit over the front edge of the stage or must be raised alternatively to the roof but PLEEEEEASE not direct on person's face. Sure, it looks nice from the distance but it is not harmless at all. It's not justified by a warning beforehand that such flashlights will be used.

I've seen them many times from the front row, and that is truly my happy place. There are downsides to the front row. The sound quality isn't quite as good, and you can't take it all in at once, even when you want to. I decided to try one from the front row of the balcony. I was positioned just over and to the right of the sound board, and the sound was incredible, plus I was able to take in the whole scene, as you said. There are pluses and minuses to both. You just have to make a decision and go for it.

Hey Rick. You have a habit to zoom in & zoom out for no particular reason.
These are camera phones. You zoom in they pick up more sound. Just line it up at a good shot. Then leave it alone.
With *Breathe.* You had a great shot of Pau & you could hear the crowd perfectly. Then for some unknown reason at the last & important verse you zoomed out. Couldn't hear the crowd no more. Then you zoomed back in defeating the mood.
Sometimes leaving it alone works the best.
Otherwise, thank you for posting the trio songs. Made me tear up, yet again.

Hey Kevin thanks for the feedback. I never claim to be a photographer or a videographer. I never promise to record anything, and rarely do. You'll see, my channel has very little actual show content. I never knew zoom could affect the audio.
I haven't even watched it yet myself. I'm still replaying it in my head from last night. I just tried to capture the moment. I remember zooming in, but it was so grainy, I wanted to catch the whole scene as I saw it. It was an incredible moment.

@@saturnracer156 - I know your not a photographer. And yes I also realize you don't video everything and put it on your channel. Got it. I do love your soundcheck videos.
Your phone camera with distance will be grainy. You need a Pro external camera to get clear shots. Especially far away. And yes. I certainly understand you want to soak in the moment of just being there. Experience the magic. Got it.
I hope you watch & listen to *Breathe* very well when you zoom in & zoom out. Hear the difference & see the difference. Cause what you hear live is not what you hear from the cellphone. That changes with the zooming.
Why do you suppose Rudy used many cellphones to record *Evolve* music video?? Set them and leave them.
But I will repeat myself. Thank you very much for posting what you have. I know I don't have to ask you if you love the show. The 7,000 strong TWA Worldwide Chior said the show was *SICK.*

@@RobeePlays I don't think so. In every case where she gets out front, she uses a handheld style microphone while still wearing the headset mic, even if there's an awkward wire involved. The problem with the headset mic out front is its proximity to the main speakers, making feedback more likely. Also, the handheld has a much bigger diaphragm, making the spectrum more even. In Narcisista at the Teatro Metropolitan, she uses a mic like Dany's and Ale's and the sound quality is excellent, much better than an SM58 for her.

@@RobeePlays The feedback (squealing) potential reduces significantly as she gets farther back from the front of the stage where the speakers play her headworn mic into the audience. As for the racket of the drums, that's definitely a problem. It's probably managed by gating with side chain and band-limiting the microphone. Singing drummers are always a challenge for a sound engineer.
