- In a recent press conference, President Irfan Ali of Guyana responded to questions about his associations with the Mohammeds-individuals sanctioned by the United States for alleged infractions. Ali emphasized that interactions with them are common given Guyana's small size and clarified that such interactions do not warrant sanctions. He also acknowledged using a vehicle provided by the Mohammeds during his election campaign and emphasized that his use of the vehicle was transparent and necessary for his security.
