The oral story telling tradition in modern form. There are so many influences in the music I could and have been listening for hour.

@@Sofia-uc5hx No worries! You're actually quite right because Janoski is I belive polish surname. It is because the ending "ski" in surnames is very common in "northern" slavic languages however it comes originaly from polish. I also find is sometimes in some native american-Indigenous words, but with this Jan which is polish name btw I'm 90% sure it is about some slavic guy. Only the band knows who. :)

Janoski doesnt exist nor has any relation to the song itself.
Nate hilts (the lead singer) said he was wearing nikes titled after stefan janoski, a skateboarder during the recording of this song.
Balled for janoski is in my opinion about drug abuse, the demon being the substance and them walking away being narrorators attempt to recover.
The first verse the narrorator is explaining the process of taking the drugs, and the second is explaining how the drugs make the narrorator feel.
This is all my opinion.
