From what I understand the polarity switch is not needed anymore with standard power. But yeah Marshall did some weird stuff back then and nothing ever seemed consistent but regardless they are the best sounding amp in my opinion
I have a ‘76 50 watt bass - small logo small piping - rocker switches - thing is a force to be reckoned with

Yup that's a bass amp! How do you like the Bugera power soak? I have that with my 50 watt bass amp as well except I can only withstand 20% lol.
Not using the power soak for this. I used it with my 20w SV20H a few times. Seems good. 😊
I have a 72' but mine has a polarity switch. Looks like yours only has power & standby?

I think it’s because it’s a Canadian model. Not sure…
