Those were the days. A little Nelson Riddle or Dave Brubeck on the stereo, the liquor flowing and the room filled with the smoke of Winston's and Benson & Hedges.
Well golly gee I remember those parties my parents said 1957 all the way through the 60s. The first ones I remember sitting at the top of the stairs after I climbed out of bed I couldn't have been more than three years old maybe four. At the top of the stairs listening to them playing the record player in fact I still have that record Gary us bonds. You better believe it was fun times, at for my parents.
Same for me. My parents had a lot of parties. I remember being asked, as a tiny child, to "come and say hello to the guests." I was so shy; I just fixed my gaze on a table leg and said hi to the air. All the men in their suits and the ladies in their cocktail dresses. They were all in their 30s. I'm more than twice that age now. I was scared of a bunch of kids!
Thanks for the comments on this video. I converted a bunch of 8mm films to digital for my stepmother. I agree it was such a stereotypical and fun slice of life. The music is Lyle Ritz, “Ritz Cracker”.
@@florencecavallaro4599 not exactly like this party scene. I have a lot of fun stuff on my channel with some odd videos that I created. Feel free to browse. Thanks for visiting !
My Mom would wrap a towel around that type of hair style . But there was so much smell of hair spray in the house , with me being asthmatic as a kid it was a little hard for me to breathe until after whatever the event was then she'd spend a couple of hours washing that stuff out . Then sometime later she'd gripe about my model paint or something else that I was doing but didn't smell as bad .
Topics of conversation…. Can you believe those gas prices? 69 cents a gallon? Do you think we’ll beat the Russians to the moon? Anybody have the Mamas and the Papas new album? I just bought a car that came with seat belts!
David--I am a teacher in Vermont and I am making a documentary and I would like to use less than ten seconds of this film to put the viewer back in the day--how would you like to be credited? Thank you for posting!
Hi Bill. Sorry took so long to reply. I don’t check (my) UA-cam often. If you still need I use the clip you can. You can credit me “David Gomberg, Instagram @soleview1” (I’m also a cartoonist - thanks) Please credit the music too ‘Lyle Ritz, “Ritz Cracker”’. Regards
my parents parties, i was a kid on the stair in my jammies, hearing the clink of cocktail glasses and my mom's laugh....

Mid century cocktail parties are the best
A lot of jazz flute in the 60s! I remember those grown- up parties.
Those people had fun in the 60s! I wish that I could have been part of those cocktail parties.
They knew how, and kept it conservative then

Guy in white tie was a mover and the camera guy had a stocking fetish, oh those 60's!
Must have been an office party for executives and their secretaries . The suits are expensive...
It's cool even the priest is there
I thought the parties round our way were boring.
I always wondered how they slept on those styles

That's when you get home and realize your clothes smell like cigarettes.
Gente caliente en la fiesta, el pasado era más sexy.. 👍.. 🔥👁️🔱👹🔥
Did military helmets cause baldness?
Is this right around 1968?
