Jack Boulter oh thanks heaps, Jack. Means a lot! I'm not sure what I'm doing to not get subs haha. But with more videos come more viewers and interest. I'm just happy people are checking them out. I'm sure more people will stick around soon enough!
Those snakebyte models are very sleek and sound super killer for playing heavy rhythm just like my hero James!!! The snakebyte models and explorers are my favorite guitars!!!! EXCELLENT!!! 🎸🔥
Awesome guitar, awesome amp, great playing, nice video. I'd go for the LTD version at less than a third of the price, especially if it's the same Het Set pickups. Both the black and white Snakebytes look awesome.
Just picked mine up today. It is better than I expected! Luckily guitar center just got it in...it was meant to be...the black satin is sick as hell. Great playing man sounds great! Keep posting please love the vids!
Hey man, nice one! Is it an LTD? Unfortunately we won't be seeing them here for a few months 😩. Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you're digging them. I have a few ideas lined so up won't stop anytime soon! Take care!
+timmkv yup LTD...super cool....I think my wife would kill me if I spent 5000 on a guitar! Maybe someday. I always liked hetfields explorer and the snakebyte is the explorer and more.
You would have to contact an ESP dealer to see if one is available. They can sort out a price for you. I would suggest giving Guitar Factory Parramatta, Bmusic or Scarlett Music a call. Where are you located?
Thanks man! I'm going to start creating photo albums of gear on my facebook page, you should see more photos of this guitar soon enough! facebook.com/timmkv Thanks for watching!
Hi Tim, what can I say? Awesome playing and amazing quality videos. I rewatch this video so many times just to look at this awesome Snakebyte beast. And guess what! I have just made a request for ordering this guitar from the Custom Shop. But I asked for the latest Snakebyte version - you know, the one with Cthulhu face, which was presented this year during the tour. And now I’m wondering if ESP CS can reject such order request… Anyway, thanks for sharing with your content. It’s really high quality channel. :-)
What are your thoughts on the Het set vs. the normal emg 81? I find the het set to be a bit more dynamic and punchy, but the 81 to be much more aggressive. Great vid, demo, playing, and of course, awesome guitar!
The Het Set has a lot more output and way more dynamics for sure. The 81 is straight attack and aggression, both a strong choices depending on what you want. But your description is pretty much spot on!
Victor Mateos hey! I've had the guitar for about 4-5 years and there are no shiny marks on it. Consider that this is a Custom Shop ESP so quality of the finish will differ from said Epiphone or LTD etc. I just make sure to clean each time after use, have found no problems with it :)
Pretty sure I commented before on a video of you playing this guitar, but the video seems to have been taken down? Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I like your videos. They are beautifully shot, the lighting, titles, and of course, your playing, are all just perfect, IMHO. Looking forward to more stuff :-)
Hi! That's strange, this was the only video for this guitar? Either way, I really appreciate the feedback and kind words! I have some other stuff coming up, just need to find the time to film it all :) haha. Thanks for sticking around!
Everything about the video is awesome, guitar, amp and your playing.Although now I feel extremely jealous lol.Out of interest how much is it for a ESP Snakebyte?
Nice demo! How is the satin finish looking after 2 years of owning it? I'm thinking of getting this guitar, but can't decide between black or white version!
played both, prefer this just because i find the weight and size to be more stable the way i hold it, but i am one to not follo the common belief so in that case get the iron cross.
This is the 90w version Mark V, there are some added features for the lower wattage heads. I've had this 2x12 or a few years now and has been more than enough :)
+Daniel Neuhaus the ones I have there are subtle differences. My custom black one is a bit heavier so it has a bit more need to it. Where as the white one has a bit more of a bite 😜
The one at 2.44 is a riff of mine, not part of a song or anything. The riff after that is a Metallica riff, it's from Harvester of Sorrow! Thanks for watching, I'm glad you dig it! :)

+timmkv Thanks for your reply. Right now I play a Jackson Rhoads Pro RRT3. The Rhoads is my all-time favorite guitar shape. I love Jackson and would buy another one but it seems like all of their $1000+ guitars have a trem. That is why I am looking at other options. Also how does that satin finish hold up on your Snakebyte? I had a cheap Schecter a few years ago in satin black and everywhere my hand continually touched the guitar it went shiny. I love the satin look but I hated how easily it would rub to a gloss.
This is hasn't been too bad actually, yeah you get the usual shiny spots but its cleans right off. The finish on this is really nice, so it doesn't show as much as I thought it would.

dr bouncyballs Hey man! They may look the same but really, they're totally different guitars. The grade of the woods being used on ESP's are in another world, the attention to the build quality, the overall finish is doesn't compare to LTD's in any way. Don't get me wrong, the LTD's aren't bad. But there's no way they're in the same league when it comes to how they're built and how they feel. Hope this answers your question!
Hey bro please help me out....... I'm like in the middle of the road weather to go forth or backwards...... I'm planning to buy ESP guitar either ec 1000 vb(81/60) or the snakebyte(Het Set) like yours..... this is like that I'll we spending my whole savings...... please suggest me a right one..... I'm a huge Metallica fan..... that's it.......
Hi! To be honest, it comes down to if you want the bigger styled body and if you want your own 'look' or not. They're going to sound similar due to the body material and pick ups, but if you're really wanting to only play metal & Metallica tunes, go the Snakebyte? They look badass and comfortable to play. Are you able to sit with both of them and see what it more comfortable to you?
For sure the nicest finish on the Snakebyte! Do you know by any chance if this shade of satin is any different from the production ESP or LTD? Like the difference between the black satin on a ESP Eclipse and a EC-1000. I hope not, 'cause this custom shop finish is awesome looking! Nice playing Tim!
I believe this would be the same to the production line. I didn't specify any shade in my order so they would've done their own thing. There won't be a difference in shade, but a difference in consistency and quality. Am I making sense? Haha
The grade of the woods are worlds apart, ESP's have much older woods being used. The finish on the ESP is thicker and the texture is different. The LTD's have ESP/LTD locking machine heads, where as the ESP's have Sperzels. The LTD is still great for the coin, but the ESP just having an ash tray battery case is not the only difference. :)
Yeah, it sounds really great, but nearly $5000, man.... that´s a lot of money. I think we all can get a great sound by buying a Epiphone Explorer ($500), an LTD EX ($1200), Gibson Explorer (about $1500), maybe a Jackson Kelly USA ($3000) and if you want a heavy metal sound like this, buy the James Hetflied EMG pickups ($200). I love these ESP models, but man, honestly I would never buy a $5000 guitar (unless I would be rich, of course)
Or a brand new custom to your specs Carvin made in USA and VERY good playing instruments, their ebony fretboards are some of the best feeling and playing board ever, just a great instrument all around, from $799-$2500, I got one made to my specs, a V220 everything I could possibly want for $1,100.
i really wonder if this guitar can get clean tones... or does it have only distortion? man, seriously, nice demonstration, nice black beast, nice amp, awesome distortion... but where are the cleans? that beast you play is not a beast only in dist... make the demo right! no offense, just saying... id really like to hear how that guitar does clean only with that mark...
I appreciate the feedback, Nick. This video was never intended to be as in-depth as we'd want it to be, it was a spontaneous idea to film some riffs. That's all :) Thanks mate!
haha yeah i know.. i was just expecting and some cleans, thats all.. anyway, i got the ltd version, so i know what cleans it has, but i dont own that mark beast you got there :P anyway, that satin black is way better that the gloss black one i think.. it also makes easier to see the lines of the guitar, that contour it has... really compliments this guitar.. nice choice
That guitar is just badass as hell! Great playing too. Love the quality of your vids man.
Thanks so much! A lot more to come for sure, thanks for watching :)
+timmkv already subbed, my friend. you deserve more views for sure.
+AgufishMusic I really appreciate it, thank you!
AGUFİSH!
God Damn, That's some thunder from down under!
Thanks man! Haha :)
Hope you dig the rest of the content!
yeah i do! i watched your videos and their great. I'm surprised you have such great quality videos with so little subscribers. I subscribed.
Jack Boulter oh thanks heaps, Jack. Means a lot! I'm not sure what I'm doing to not get subs haha. But with more videos come more viewers and interest. I'm just happy people are checking them out. I'm sure more people will stick around soon enough!
Yeah, They are great! Keep it up!
Those snakebyte models are very sleek and sound super killer for playing heavy rhythm just like my hero James!!! The snakebyte models and explorers are my favorite guitars!!!! EXCELLENT!!! 🎸🔥
Nice gtr! And I'm happy too see someone finally playing MOP intro the right way (where you play the F# and F notes before repeating the riff). \m/
Thanks man! Happy you picked up on the puppets riff. :D
James Hetfield used to embroider my loincloths. Not a lot of people know about his talent for embroidery.
Great demo! Beautiful guitar!
Saving up for my first tube amp and this video helped narrow down my choices.
Thank you so much! That’s really great to hear, I hope it’s going well!
this satin black ESP snakebyte is like the most beautiful explorer style guitar! sounds badass too!
Thanks man! Glad you dig it :)
This is the best video of this guitar on youtube. I'd love to see some footage of that sexy white one sitting in the background.
Thanks so much! Will probably get my hands on the LTD Vulture as a follow up to this :)
That would be awesome since there's really no videos of the vulture yet.
It'll probably be a couple weeks, but will happen!
Awesome guitar, awesome amp, great playing, nice video. I'd go for the LTD version at less than a third of the price, especially if it's the same Het Set pickups. Both the black and white Snakebytes look awesome.
Thanks! The LTD's are amazing, congrats!
You have black AND white one .. you lucky, lucky man!😌
I am very financially irresponsible. Thanks for watching! :)
Just picked mine up today. It is better than I expected! Luckily guitar center just got it in...it was meant to be...the black satin is sick as hell. Great playing man sounds great! Keep posting please love the vids!

+timmkv yup LTD...super cool....I think my wife would kill me if I spent 5000 on a guitar! Maybe someday. I always liked hetfields explorer and the snakebyte is the explorer and more.
fuckn killer sound man! mark series are awesome!!!
Thanks man! Yeah they're great :D
ESP has this finish in production this year!
Yes they did! :D
I still think mine is special though. ;)
please Tim, do a gear tour! i am dying to see the sweet guitars you own.
+Luis Valdivia One day soon, I hope! Would love to do just a few more videos before I do a rundown :)
Great guitar, great sound, love the style
Thanks so much!
+timmkv What MESA are you using?
Mark V :)
timmkv Anyway, great tone
Thanks! You saw the reply, right?
sound is fuc*in killer !! i wonder did you use KHDK ghoul screamer ?
Thanks! Nah I didn't have the pedals when I recorded this. Would've been cool though!
Yeah!!
Friday, I'm in love!
Best video of a Snakebyte on You Tube ,awesome playing too. Is this your favourite guitar in your collection?
Amazi,ng Stuff you have ! but I prefer the Esp mx250 !
Once I find one in Australia it's all mine! :) haha
Totally agree xD ! Same for me in France
Hey, I'm from Australia too, where would I buy one of these and how much should I expect to pay?
You would have to contact an ESP dealer to see if one is available. They can sort out a price for you. I would suggest giving Guitar Factory Parramatta, Bmusic or Scarlett Music a call. Where are you located?
Melbourne, Vic
Badass guitar, Awesome Skills
Thank you Daniel! :)
Minor and less minor correction. Sperzel* and it's not 350mm (13.77'') but 305mm (12'')
Out there looking out for the homies - thank you!
Sound is frkn great
+Steven Bellm Thank you :)
good guitar🤘🏻
Thank you!
awesome guitar sound man! are you using any pedal effect? or is it just the amp's distortion?
Guitar and amp tones! Thanks for watching :)
Clean song 🥺
Not on this channel, my friend! Thank you for watching, though!
holy crap. great gear, nice playing.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it :D
@2:42 GOOD LAWD!!! That right hand is on fire
Haha! Thanks!
Dude your fucking bad ass Hetfield is my idle. Love to see the battery compartment
Thanks man! I'm going to start creating photo albums of gear on my facebook page, you should see more photos of this guitar soon enough! facebook.com/timmkv Thanks for watching!

Yeah, they rejected this project due to updated Custom Shop policy.
Seen any of the clips of the Vulture at this years Winter Namm?
Haven't seen any demo clips, just some images of it really. I'll make sure to do a video on it when it hits Australia!
But your description is pretty much spot on!
sounds incredible! sick guitar :)
Thank you! :)
Amazing !! Badass stuff !!
Thanks so much! Hope you can stick around :)
hey dude, does the satin finish gets "stained" by body marks. A had a gothic explorer an it got all shiny on the neck and the palm rest area. Thanks.
Victor Mateos hey! I've had the guitar for about 4-5 years and there are no shiny marks on it. Consider that this is a Custom Shop ESP so quality of the finish will differ from said Epiphone or LTD etc. I just make sure to clean each time after use, have found no problems with it :)
I want that tone!!!! 😍😍😍
Haha, thanks man!
Thats so sick, great playing aswell!
+TIM BARNETT Thanks! Glad you dig it :)
ESP and LTD headstock differences? What is better?
Great videos are you using overdrive I have the same amp
I honestly don't remember if I did use one or not, I don't think I did. But, if I did it would've been a Maxon OD808.
Beautiful geetar, even cooler since you got the satin finish before it became a standard option! Keep riffing bro!
Yeah man, it's very cool to have! Will do, thanks for watching! :)
great demo!! and that guitar looks badass!! I want a satin black guitar!! but I ve heard they re a pain to keep clean... is that right?
They're just as painful as cleaning a gloss black guitar I guess, I'm a bit of a neat freak so I clean them all the time. Haha :)
timmkv same here :D
I might end up getting the EII Horizon NT II... im more used to glossy finish
+James Guevara either way will be a great choice! Enjoy!
What pedals are you running through the amp
What song is the riff from at 3:37 ?
That Was Just Your Life!
great ! black satin is a good choice
Thank you!
Really enjoyed your playing, and that's a sexy fucking ESP. Subbed
Thanks Adam, means a lot! Appreciate it :D
So cool 😎 .
You could fight a dragon with that guitar . Then write an album about it .using the same guitar .
Everything about the video is awesome, guitar, amp and your playing.Although now I feel extremely jealous lol.Out of interest how much is it for a ESP Snakebyte?
Thanks for watching, Sean! Glad you like it. :)
It depends on location and conversion rates. But it took a lot of saving, I'll tell ya that!
Really cool, man!
+Elisson Oliveira Thank you! :)
Nice! Hey man does your custom shops serial number start with a T? Thanks!
Hey man! Starts with a K. Thanks!
I'd love to hear that through the stealth head!
I'll get it done if I get my hands on a Stealth head!
Sick man. What kind of strap you rocking??
Dunlop, my dude!
I have a satin snakebyte too. How do you keep yours clean?
Just a normal guitar polish man! I use this - harroncustomguitars.com/
Hi, after playing this guitar a few years can you still recommend the SATIN black ESP Snakebyte? Is it still beautiful?
I don't play it a whole lot, but it's definitely stood well against time and playing. No marks on it whatsoever!
So badass!!🤘
Thank you! :)
Do fingerprints stay when you touch the finish? I've heard that satin finishes tend to never let go that kind of things
They do as much as gloss black, maybe a tad more noticeable. Not a big thing, I just clean it when I'm done :)
Nice demo! How is the satin finish looking after 2 years of owning it? I'm thinking of getting this guitar, but can't decide between black or white version!
Thanks man! I'm a bit of a neat freak so I clean it every time I play it haha. The ESP finishes are great quality, it's still looking pretty fresh!
Oh nice! So keeping it clean is manageable then? I'm concerned wear spots would start to "gloss over" a little over time.
Is there any difference between this black one and that white one ?
There was certainly some weight difference between the two. The Custom Shop version had a bit more of a 'meatier' tone because of that!
Song at 3:31 And 3:47 pleas ?
Hey, what do you think about the LTD iron cross ? I am thinking about getting one :) Btw badass playing :)
The Iron Cross is super comfortable! I would hesitate if you're looking to get one. Thanks for watching!
played both, prefer this just because i find the weight and size to be more stable the way i hold it, but i am one to not follo the common belief so in that case get the iron cross.
Really good job man. I like your style.
Thanks bro! That means heaps :)
Drumless 4all you mean hetfield’s style
She is beautiful and you are the Beats 😉✌🏻️👏🏻
Thanks Marcel! Appreciate the support! 🤘🏻👊🏼
Nice!! 🤘🤘
Thank you!
this thing looks sweet, just curious how much did this cost for a custom finish?
Thanks! They didn't refinish a standard series model, it's a custom shop build. Took a lot of saving I'll tell you that! Haha
Awesome video! How did ESP allow you do custom shop this? It wasn't a copyright issue at all?
I'm not sure what you mean, but this was built by ESP in their Custom Shop so there was no issue at all :)
Why is Trogdor inlaid at the 12th fret?
JD Gregorio haha, I can see the resemblance.
excellent review ! by the way is it a mark V 35 ? (any difference with the 25 ?)
and by the way , a 2 12 mesa rectifier cab will do the job ?
This is the 90w version Mark V, there are some added features for the lower wattage heads. I've had this 2x12 or a few years now and has been more than enough :)
perfect match indeed ! your sound is amazing . I'm wondering wether the Ltd version will play the same ..
by the way, did you try the Vulture ?
It's not going to be the same, I'll admit that. But I think the LTD's are great quality and would be fun to play!
Have had the LTD Vulture in my hands, it's pretty cool! I might make a video for the Vulture.
very cool!!!
Cheers! Thanks so much :)
Which one do you prefer? Black or white
And
On what songs does James use this guitar himself?
Thanks already
Dirk
He uses this guitar in the halo on fire music video
how in the world do you afford all this badassery
Saving and not having a life helped :') haha
Sounds fucking kick ass sir!
Thank you! :)
Is your white Snakebyte ESP or LTD?
ESP!
Nice Demo. How many James Hetfield signature guitars do you have? And which models?
Just the two Snakebytes! If I collected all of them it wouldn't stop. Haha
I love the Snakebyte😅. I already got 700€ for The LTD. Is there a tonal difference between the withe and the satin black Snakebyte?
+Daniel Neuhaus the ones I have there are subtle differences. My custom black one is a bit heavier so it has a bit more need to it. Where as the white one has a bit more of a bite 😜
+timmkv good to know😄. How much did the satin black One cost?
+Daniel Neuhaus It was two or three years ago I honestly don't remember. But took a while to save up :)
Bro what is that riffage at 2:44? Also the riffs that come after it?? I hope that's an actual song. You're awesome!
The one at 2.44 is a riff of mine, not part of a song or anything. The riff after that is a Metallica riff, it's from Harvester of Sorrow! Thanks for watching, I'm glad you dig it! :)
Hey man, what picks and strings do you use?
Hey man, I use Totex III 1.14 picks & D'Addario 11-49 strings.
What song does he play at 2:30
Ku Doub King Nothing!
Amp settings front and back?
Output at 11.00
Gain at 1.50 (a little too high)
Master at 11.00
Presence at 11.00
Treble at 1.00
Mid at 10.50
Bass 10.00
Mark IV setting at 10w w/bright switch off
EQ is on, you can see the settings 35 seconds in. Pentode. :)
timmkv Damn brotha! I have to change some tubes or something?! I have the exact same setup, guitar and all. My tone is weak compared to your setup!
+Brian Smith I haven't changed the tubes at all, and I've probably owned the amp for about 4 years now. What is sounds like in the room to the recorded sound is totally different. I pick quite hard and have some heavier strings on it. So many factors to consider. Haha
Which strap do you use? Is it a Dunlop nylon?
Correct!
+timmkv is it good guitar for beginner or I should buy smthing else?
This one or any other would be fine :)
FUCKING AWESOME MAN!!!!!!!
Thanks dude! :)
Hey man, I love your videos. I wish I had the $$$ for this guitar but I'm actually in the market for a "melt your face off" metal guitar in the $900-1200 price range.

+timmkv what do you use to get the shiny spots off?
A small spot of guitar polish and a cleaning cloth, it's not a challenge at all. :)
where do you have your tone and reverb settings at on the amp?
Output at 11.00
Gain at 1.50
Master at 11.00
Presence at 11.00
Treble at 1.00
Mid at 10.50
Bass 10.00
Mark IV setting at 10w w/bright switch off

Reverb off
+timmkv thank you :) sounds great
Thanks! :)
Fuck reverb.
awesome
quick question: why does the price of the normal ESP version cost so much more than the ESP LTD version?
dr bouncyballs Hey man! They may look the same but really, they're totally different guitars.
The grade of the woods being used on ESP's are in another world, the attention to the build quality, the overall finish is doesn't compare to LTD's in any way.

thanks a lot man; great playing btw!
Thanks for watching! All the best :)
Wow.... you got alot of money in that room .
I am financially irresponsible
I want one. where can I get it?
Best to chat to a local ESP dealer of yours, where are you located?
timmkv b.c canada
You can find a couple dealers here: www.espguitars.com/locations?categories=intl-dealers
Awesome
Thanks! :)

Haha
+timmkv Haha yes I get it, thanks for the reply! :)
how much u payed for it? I see theres a differente from "LTD" to "ESP"
There is quite the different to ESP and LTD, they are comparable for sure.
That's not to say the LTD's are great guitars though!
awesome :)
Thanks! :)
Bad ass I have the LTD wish I could have the ESP
The LTD's look pretty good though! Can't wait to check them out.
What's the difference between this model ESP and LTD?
US Made, has an ash tray battery case on back
The grade of the woods are worlds apart, ESP's have much older woods being used. The finish on the ESP is thicker and the texture is different. The LTD's have ESP/LTD locking machine heads, where as the ESP's have Sperzels. The LTD is still great for the coin, but the ESP just having an ash tray battery case is not the only difference. :)
And ESP Signature Models are Custom Shop orders from the Japan factory, not US.
thinking about getting this guitar but i'm 5'7 so i wonder if its too big for me
I'm pretty sure I'm shorter than 5'7 haha. Everything looks big on me, but it's a very comfortable guitar!
how the hell did you afford two of those? lol
what song at 2:45 ?
Just a riff of mine :)
you should create your own song with that epic riff man !
I will one day!
The LTD Snakebyte cost 1300, i think it's stupid to buy a 5000 guitar, with that money you can buy a lot of other guitars, amps and other shits
Raúl Pedrosa but youtube hetfield wannabees want the genuine thing
Or a brand new custom to your specs Carvin made in USA and VERY good playing instruments, their ebony fretboards are some of the best feeling and playing board ever, just a great instrument all around, from $799-$2500, I got one made to my specs, a V220 everything I could possibly want for $1,100.
Raúl Pedrosa none of them come close. An esp or ltd ec/eclipse would.
He's has one in white not a bad way to spend 10k 👍🍻
The headless guitarist... 😂
People want to see the guitars, not me! Haha
Hey I think you are amazing but I think you have your distortion set a little bit too high, that may just be my speakers too tho
Yeah a bit too much gain for normal speakers, I agree. Sounded okay through my monitors. Thanks.
How much was that thing from the custom shop? Sounds absolutely amazing!
It took a lot of time and saving, I'll tell ya that much! Thanks for watching :)
Looks sexy as hell! \m/...
Thank you! :)
😎💯🔥🎸❗
💪🏼🤘🏼👊🏼
your fingers are already showing all
Wait, Is that a good thing or? Haha
i really wonder if this guitar can get clean tones... or does it have only distortion? man, seriously, nice demonstration, nice black beast, nice amp, awesome distortion... but where are the cleans? that beast you play is not a beast only in dist... make the demo right! no offense, just saying... id really like to hear how that guitar does clean only with that mark...
I appreciate the feedback, Nick. This video was never intended to be as in-depth as we'd want it to be, it was a spontaneous idea to film some riffs. That's all :) Thanks mate!
haha yeah i know.. i was just expecting and some cleans, thats all.. anyway, i got the ltd version, so i know what cleans it has, but i dont own that mark beast you got there :P anyway, that satin black is way better that the gloss black one i think.. it also makes easier to see the lines of the guitar, that contour it has... really compliments this guitar.. nice choice
