I really think they've hit it perfectly with this DLC. There's just the right amount of depth to jets, without turning it into overcomplex DCS-type thing. Learning curve is just right IMO, giving chance anybody to learn but ensure that most skilled players will always come out on top.

The "Community Guide" series is contracted, yeah. The production values aren't really any different from what I do for my own series, like Art of Flight, though.
Suggestion: It would be great if you could make a video in which you go over the individual plane/helicopter ammunitions in detail and explain how they work, what kind of damage they do and against which kind of units they work best. So we would have like a small encyclopedia where all the information on each missile/rocket/bomb is regrouped. I'm suggesting that because the info about them is sparse, you have to search left and right and people do not always agree on what actually does what... Plus it would be enjoyable to watch (as always)
I'd love to be able to film shots like this, I'm guessing camera scripts, but I'm so terribly bad at Arma script language however easy people say it is! Great guide as always Dslyecxi!

ATGM missiles seem to have a shorter locking range than "a few kilometers". I'm not sure if that's a server parameter, but I tend to go for bombs when trying to take out AA because of this.
I would love to see some Jets gameplay from you. It's making me want to buy Arma 3 and the DLC so bad, but I need to get a Track IR before I can play such an in depth sumulation.
You don't even need Track IR for a great experience in Arma. It's only for the most advanced heli and maybe jet pilots. In the 300+ hours I've spent flying in Arma 3, I never had the feeling that my capability is limited by not using Track IR. With DCS you shure feel the requirement, but Arma 3 is not that demanding and advanced to feel that same level of desperation for a proper tracking system, especially if you account for ground units because they don't need it at all and that's where you'll spend most of your time playing. BTW there are some budget alternatives to Track IR: Just by a cheap PlayStation Webcam, fiddle around with it to remove the IR filter (if you even have to - I can't remember) solder together some very cheap IR LEDs and a power source and use Free Track IR software. Voila, 20 bucks for a sytem that has about 80% of the performance!
Dslyecxi, what about SEAD? Are there any specific tactics that work against some of the mentioned radar air defense mentioned in the video, besides popping flares/chaff, such as Wild Weasel, etc.? And does it actually work against ARMA enemy air defense?
How do you lock onto a target like that with your camera? (When you were in the Wipeout watching your missile or bombs drop) Also how do you use the laser with it?

Even when playing the DLC where you take off the aircraft carrier I can't lock onto the jets but could do before the update.
Also, the 20mm gun on the Wasp feels so underpowered against aircraft. It should only take a few rounds to take a plane out. I've had times where a enemy jet will literally fly through a long burst of fire and keep on flying. The guns on these jets in real life are designed specifically so you only need a few moments of fire to bring down an enemy aircraft.

I play in moderation, for starters. I'm only actually playing MP Arma on Wednesday and Saturday, and generally don't do much aside from some modding at other times. I get a great deal out of my community interactions, and Arma's a means to do large-scale events with people in said community. Having good people to play with, high standards of quality and conduct, and plenty of ways to get an interesting experience from Arma helps to keep things fresh. I'm open to playing most roles, too, which means I'm able to play an infantry game sometimes, a helo game other times, leadership, follower, whatever - there's a great deal of variety to it.
Usual problem is while most of the features, added by this DLC, is very valuable (though I'm still insisting, that loadout editor should have been in the game from the initial release), most of the content is not very useful. As far as I understand, that aircrafts will be used until RHS and CUP updates, and then it will be same fate for them as a Apex VTOLs.
I remember trying it in Arma2 where afaik you needed mods and/or it did not really work. Same with laser guided artillery (I think there were script that like removed the shell and then spawned it above the laser pointer, very hacky). Is there laser guided artillery in Arma 3?

I play Arma 3 King of the Hill and I now suck at Jets and tanks because for some reason nothing will lock on? T no longer works and there is no turn on radar option for tanks and rangefinders in tanks and regular wont show distance. Please help! Also please make more guides on tanks and jets thank you!
What about for tanks? In koth I can no longer lock on with tank and distance is not shown also with the regular spotters designation for sniping in arma.
sadly they forget the interior of the uss freedom, wheel brake (or atleast i didnt find it) and i cant find a way to change loadout in mission. kinda disappointing to me the jets dlc.
Yeah, I still don't like the new bomb CCIP. It's not as accurate as before, and it was my bread and butter. I could CCIP a bomb far easier, quicker, and more precisely than using laser guidance.

Nah, it's not really necessary. I can dogfight and interdict pretty damn well with just a cheap joystick.

There's no anti radiation missiles in Arma and I can't think of any mods that add them so SEAD is hard

Jake Esco i know how to open the targeting pod..... its been in the game for awhile now.
You align your nose to the target and press T... that's pretty much all there is to it. Pretty sure you don't press one button to lock in DCS.

I forget the actual binding name and I can't check because I'm at work but it should be pretty obvious.

It should all be the same binding, called target or lock. If not they added new bindings for those and they are likely in their respective section.
