I was actually thinking the other day how much more room a car would have without the b pillar. Hope ford brings this to the us, but give it suicide doors instead of thd sliding door.
Why no comment about the very poor visibility caused by both the central pillar and the quarter lights if that's what they're called, both features being notable safety hazards?
With both driver & passenger on the same side of car, of course it's going to be unstable! Isn't the high centre of gravity that's the problem, but the difference of 150Kg or so more on right hand side of car! &B^{O?
1.0 turbo isn't designed to last it will be overworked on a medium but heavy modern car. Efficiency will be good if driven really carefully but normal driving will require the engine to be worked a bit so your better off with a bigger engine that works less & equals more efficiency. Oh & what is it with the Aston Martin grill theft.
+georgie peorgie They're actually quite decent. Here in the USA, a comparable "city car" type compact might have a 1,2L petrol engine with double-digit horsepower and torque, but here's a 1L with a block the size of A4 putting out 123. Similar to (or the same as? idk) Ford's "global Fiesta." The only reason we haven't got these ultra-efficient petrol engines in the USA is petrol pricing. If a fill-up cost here as much as in, say, the UK we'd certainly be putting round in B-Maxes and Fiestas and so on. Small engines are the future...although ideally with turbochargers.
Quick little question: Why aren't all Fords the same IN THE SENSE of ESP, the B-Max is possible to disable the electronics fully, but then again the new Focus, you can't!?! Can anyone tell me if the Ford Mondeo(MK4 - 2009) is like the B-Max in the sense of you can turn off the stability program off COMPLETELY? I know that its physically possible with removing the fuse lol - but I don't wish to mess around with them. If a car has the button saying OFF for ESP, off (in my opinion) should mean ALL off!
I’s me math off or is it supposed to be 23.5?? I actually had to break out the calculator because i thought my basic math skills went out the window lol
well, not exactly the same integrity but ford made a good work on it and build a safe car even without B pilar, as you can see here /watch?v=YB2iM2BUsSE
Ford still can't do interiors, horrible nasty plastic and black cheap trim even in the top spec models. It's a shame because they're always good to drive
5:00 - 5:18 8+8+7.5 = 23.5
Lol I rewound it before I saw this comment. WTF Fifth Gear editors?
8+8+7.5 = 887.5

No, he's a C*** !!
"Don't give it bloody wuh"
4:26 That's extremely close, Tiff is a proper madman.
I love the b max build quality and driving dynamics and handling to lol😍
Ford needs to bring this to America so the Mazda5 finally had some competition.
I had a brand new one of these and it really was a great car
love this car so much!!! amans friend has its and I can't explain how excited I am to experience the b - max tomorrow
I dont have a friend that owns a B max
The bad mathematics at the end still gets my ocd going after five plus years lol
Thank you I was like wtf did I forgot counting?
It's 23 and a half, ahhh the Fifth Gear
1:20 now Im buying this car ;)
aahahahahaha :)
8+8+7.5=23.5 not 22.5
Tiff is an absolute madman
All people carriers go in uncool on my cool board, doesn’t matter which one you’ve got.
Get over yourself
"Don't give it a bloody wuh"
Best review ever
3:24 "There's also a madman in the form of Tiff Needell". 😂🤣😂🤣
8+8+7,5= 23,5 no ?
:D
You are right! :D What a mistake from Fifth Gear!
Math geeks here
Can you really turn esp completely off in a Ford?

I love you guys but Jason remains a standout for me🤣🤣🤣🤭
So glad others noticed the maths error

i want fifth gear back.
What about vicki?
Tiff is just the best
60 mil esc ESP on ?
60 mph esp on ?
3:38 best face
Excellent job on the counting there geniuses :)
no b pillar, wonder how it does in a side impact crash?
It dose quite good. Ford made the metal there extra strong
We need a car like this in the U.S. although are regulations are bogus.
Wonder how long these 1 litre engines will last.

+Jaska Börner The REAL future automobiles are EV's, like the Tesla. The small engine is good, but performance from a small electric motor triumphs.
I feel like they're trying too hard at being top gear, when they're not. You guys should find your own style

They should apply the esp to the Focus st even with it on it let's the backend go
tif niddel is brilliant
8+8+7.5=23.5 and not 22.5
plz correct it...
Anybody in here getting nostalgic with the Fast Lane Daily soundtrack??
Haha-- this tune is used as Fast Lane Daily's intro.
Thank goodness this isn't a maths show xD
I’s me math off or is it supposed to be 23.5?? I actually had to break out the calculator because i thought my basic math skills went out the window lol
Give it WOH!
Is this a re-upload or am I having a deja vu?
Deja Vu :)
+Fifth Gear xd
+Fifth Gear Someone named FifthGear is copying your videos. I'm not sure tho
timppa600 一
I am purchasing one of these because if they cannot even count, why would I listen to their thoughts on this car??!!
dear ford,
can we get an ST revision of this in the USA?
Never, in any country it will never exist.
SIMcityplayer2002 La La La La.... I CAN'T HEAR YOU.... La La La La La
not bad
I dont like 4 screws on wheels. Needs to be 5 on such big car.
NEGATIVE NEGATIVE NEGATIVE, come on man, give a fair review.
Ford Baymax Bah la la la la
you mean 23 and a half.
8+8+7.5=22.5??
They can't count..
joking
The Ford B-Max: A car for people who have given up on life.
From where? joy is a good tool
A minivan (MPV) with no B pillar seems rather dangerous. That will reduce structural integrity as well as lack of obstructing a car from T boning you.
I'd wager a vehicle travelling anything north of 35mph or 60km/h t-boning any consumer level car will cause massive damage, b pillars or otherwise.
well, not exactly the same integrity but ford made a good work on it and build a safe car even without B pilar, as you can see here /watch?v=YB2iM2BUsSE
+Ddyracer D yes...but it still managed to get 5/5 stars in its EuroNCAP crash tests.
It will have a strengthing bar under neath somewhere and the doors when closed act as a b pillar as they will crumple dead center
Ford still can't do interiors, horrible nasty plastic and black cheap trim even in the top spec models. It's a shame because they're always good to drive
You gave the Ford your usual biased elevated score. Glad you didn't waste too much time on how ugly and disproportionate it looks.
when the fiesta's gone the b-max will take over as u.k's best selling car =)=)=)=)
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👌🏻
