I agree with the sentiments of most of the comments. A lot of Laurika's songs especially those written by her husband are extremely rich in imagery and convey a message. This is even more relevant today than when it was written we haven't learned have we?!
No matter how many times I hear this song, I still get goosebumps. Her voice is like melted chocolate, and this song has a power to demonstrate the emotive power of names.... the rollcall of war and destruction.
Laurika - Ken here in NYC - hope you are well. This is one of the most incredible pieces of music ever composed and performed - so very well done indeed - tonne liefde - Ken
It has been recorded. Laurika Rauch is a South African so this song which was written by her husband, is not well known outside our country. Probably the finest anti war and violence song ever written. The only other countries where she was known are Holland and Belgium because she sang Jacques Brel’s songs. I love her voice!
It's an anti-war, anti violence song. All the names in the songs are associated with some kind of violent conflict. Very far back in history, World Wars I and II, the political conflict in South Africa before 1994, cult shit in the US ... This song is sooo universal. You can just add places.

How did this song never make platinum internationally is a puzzle to me. I think if it was marketed better it would've taken the world by storm.
Even MORE relevant today!
