Ah they probably confuse us by having buzz have a tiny house with buzz being like medium sized or something it looked like in the trailer someone had a tiny house while the character wasn’t tiny.
I seen on Reddit that someone pointed out that you do indeed get paid for serving customers. Apparently it’s not just to earn friendship points.

You actually get friendship points for serving them (so another good source of friendship points besides gifting and hanging out) and you actually get the price of that dish added when you serve them. 😉
AND I fully upgraded his damn restaurant…! I should be getting free meals over here for working overtime 🤣

Lol this reminds me of a mission in red dead online, you have your own moonshine business but for some reason its also Maggie's (a coworker/ KIND OF BOSS?) and the moonshine shack where you work for whatever reason is HERS even though you paid A BUNCH of your money for it. Like what are game devopers thinking when they come up with these ideas? Lol!

I think you get paid for the dish. I've noticed when I have a money task like earn 500 star coins for Dreamlight task. It completes it when I give them the dish.
They keep asking for food with ingredients from places I haven’t unlocked

Really though it makes a gift giving session as well. Each meal acts like a favorite gift giving you friendship bonuses. I got Olaf to ten mostly from just serving him at Remy's
