Helmut is a very talented multilingual man I've never seen the like! Like in all other languages, I think his Russian, (though I don't know the language), to me sounds perfect. Hearing him sing 'Otschi Tschornije', as well as 'Havah Nagilah', Helmut left me breathless both for the capacity of his wonderful voice as well as his 'fast' singing. Bravo Helmut - I never tire hearing you sing such classical songs.

I cannot help but to make this additional comment: His high notes are simply bewitching. What hurts is the realization, that we see these performances DECADES after they first appeared on stage.
They have appeared for many years, you just didn't see them if you are in US. In Europe he has been a rage for the last 35 years and sold 1 million albums, 72 platinum and 52 gold. His concerts were and are always sold out and he was also featured on PBS in specials more than once and now I see him on occasion on ARTS channel. In his native Belgium he is considered a national treasure
The free-ness of his voice is mindboggling! And his high notes seem to be somewhere in Cyber-Space. I still would like to know something about his early musical training.
@@thatsacoolone9038 You just confirmed for me what I said many years ago: One can only awaken what someone brings with him to this world - one can not plant something that was not there in the first place - how many tenors would love to reach but come only close to the double-lined C even after years of training ? And here we have Lotti whose voice, with the greatest of ease, seems to disappear in the musical Cyberspace.
@@Eturoel Some think, but natural talent cannot be taught. Lotti has Autismus I think. He decided withdraw after a prosperous career. He did a short comeback where he actually sang a duet with Amira Willighagen. But he can't hit those high notes with easy anymore so it's not the same singer now. Think it was the right decision withdraw when his voice, naturally changed to deeper, and withdraw when the magic was gone.
I really liked him in his younger days. He is extremely talented and i liked him until he sang heaven isn’t real and my opinion changed of him as a person. But he is a talent. And he speaks so many languages. Amazing, but i cant separate the two.
So you change opinions about people because they think sometimes differently than you? He went through some bad times and often people stop believing when that happens like my father who lost his whole family in a Holocaust so don't judge people on the base of a song or their inner struggles, go listen to his I Got Confidence. Believing in Heaven doesn't make you a better person, in your case just a judgemental one and self absorbed. You need to grow up.
