Love when Gilbert does a reenactment of Artie telling him how to maKe the CD😂
"What you gotta do is..."
What you gotta do is uhhhhhh
Jackie never paid back Rodney he was a low life
2000 plus 1000 is 3000 thousand Jackie
Tom must be in his office punching walls over Howard managing to crowbar in an hour of promotion for Sirius.
nobody did commercials in disguise better than Stern
Stern himself said " I want everything for myself and nothing for anyone else"
Typical. Dudes a clown. Always has been. Gilbert, Jackie and Billy made that show along with guys like Richard Simmons.
Wonder why? ✡
He also once specifically used the marbles analogy while discussing his own selfishness, saying "When I was a kid and we played marbles, I wanted all the marbles for myself"
@@sirloin7633 LOL Is your brain on? You are the biggest hater ever.
When JTS took a couple extra weeks off he said "but I'm glad you got that extra 10k I wanted you to have that money"
Getting up at 4:30 is nothing. Especially when your job is done by 10am 😂
Uhh yea plus they were 4 days a week lol anyone that complained about that is a nitwit
Not when you’re a comedian. Also getting up at 4:30 is dreadful for anyone
@@PowersBenzoCoachingyou could always take the guaranteed millions and do less standup. Insecure, greedy stand ups can’t just let money pass even if they already have more than enough, then complain like victims afterwards.
Ikr I'm up at 5am every workday.
@PowersBenzoCoaching you get used to it quick if it's your job. And your off by 11am? 6am-10 or 11 am? That's a cakewalk.
That show has given me so much joy throughout the years. Who am I to complain?
I like your attitude. We also have good memories of listening to the show at home and work in the 90's.
@@Landrew1208 Love and Respect to you 🤘
I love how half of this is them doing a thinly veiled promotion for their move to Sirius lol. I forgot about that weird little cul de sac in stern show history
uh UH uh
Imagine turning down over $500,000 a year because you didn’t want to wake up at 4:30 in the morning and work for only 4 hours. It’s insane how Artie screwed it up as well. They had it so good. 😂
Howard made 100 million a year. By himself he wouldn’t be as popular. His team helped him tremendously. 500k is Slap in the face
Jhon got 50k on Stern and 500k on Leno
Jackie was just trying to save face,he and artie both know how bad they screwed up leaving the show
Artie was on drugs. He screwed up everything in his life.
@@JuanLeche8Howard isn’t responsible for their contracts.
Jackie nuts but that Marble analogy is super true lol
Jackie nuts, eh?
This whole giving Rodney jokes is a chapter or two in Martling's book "Bow To Stern" which I thought was pretty good, i bought it online and I liked it.
Even the title of his book is angry 😂😂😂
I didn’t have any money and Rodney had plenty
He wasn’t trying to be funny with that line but it might sum up the joke man the best way possible in one sentence
F Jackie
That book is awful. I bought two copies so I could give one to a friend. It’s terribly written. And I love Jackie. It’s just a bad book.
BUY MY BOOK!!!!!
The bigger part of this clip in my opinion is him discussing the news team for the first time
Jackie's laugh was gold....its almost as good as JD's
Can’t believe cbs allowed this ad for sat radio on their air
Hearing these clips after all of these years is so maddening now. Jackie was 100% right in what he was asking for, but for some reason he just couldn't come right out and say how Howard was screwing him over. And at most, in some random interview I heard with Jackie and John and Billie, he gave an example about when Howard first signed the contract for E! to televise the show and suddenly there was more money yet no one but Howard was allowed to make it (that's when Jackie made the camera lights turn off over him whenever they were filming a segment for tv). And when you think about every employee over the years that Howard just used and threw away - KC, Artie, the E! crew themselves - and you see how they have no money while Howard has used their personal stories over the years (after they were tossed away) as content that kept making him money, then you realize how much Jackie was right about the marble analogy. Even Artie criticized Howard on his Quitter podcast (which has since been deleted off the face of the Earth) about how EVERYONE who was involved with the Howard Stern show left a lot of blood on the floor that Howard SHOULD HAVE gifted them all millions as a gift just to be a "thank you" for everything they did.
Can you imagine telling a story about your own family or relationships over time, and then Howard owns it and can sell it and gets to make money while you live in squander? F' Howard, F' Robin, F' Gary, and F' everyone that spins this crap to make Howard look innocent in all this.
Hi Jackie! You gonna be at yuk yuks soon?
howard isnt management, he actually mentions it over and over again he would love to never be involved in salaries
@@crazykid976that’s total BS and an absolute cop out. He used this excuse because he knew 95% of his audience had zero business knowledge. He gets a budget for his entire production and he alone decides how and where to spend money.
On what planet was he right? He made millions himself working on the show. He was making more than writers for late night shows and working less than them.
@@PeopleRTellingmeI agree. Whenever someone made a mistake he would threaten to fire them. Handling firings sounds like management to me.
Giving out the Jackie CD's as a prize to callers was so F'd up 😅
I didn’t have any money and Rodney had plenty of money.
That might be the funniest thing Jackie jokemin ever said not trying to be funny
Yeah he sold jokes to Rodney Dangerfield 😂😂😂
Gary simping hard over Beth. 😂 Yes Sir boss.
That was so cringe and ass suckin of Gary .
10:56 *i was a middler* Superfan Sal brings up this exact comment during his Artie blowup
never realized what an egomaniac stern was and how everyone was saying what he wanted to hear and this wall all pathetic. He was done by this time.
Jackie was right. He deserved more money and they treated him like he was moron. Good for Jackie.
Nah, he didn’t deserve more money. He admits he made a mistake. He was trying to accept the final offer like 2 months later. He was offered a couple million dollars in RADIO. and not even as the main or co-main person. That’s crazy!
Is this Jackie? 😂
He was awful. Glad we got Artie
Jackie was right.
The only time Jackie was any good was on Stern. Otherwise, he was hacky
Artie was great but I loved Jackie. He always cracked me up.
Artie sucked
Freds Jackie impersonation is as good as Billy Wests lol
No.
The exciting start of the news division that never did a hard hitting story about Howard.
Fox News has never done a hard hitting story about Rupert Murdock either.
I think it was Lisa G that tried to research Howard’s engagement ring for a story and got demolished off air for it.
That's because she's a fuckin Howard stalker and they knew it
He said many times that when he created the news department, he didn't want them investigating himself.
Stupid comment
This was all one large plug for Sirius while he was finishing out his KRock contract, just like when he works in live reads for shit and tries to make it sound “organic”
37:13 - He proves my point by being mad that we didn’t hear the wrap-around Howard100 News jingle, all we got was the Jackie soundbite he claimed he was only playing it for 😂😂 no wonder Infinity friggin sued him
Any "fight" that involved a product name of any kind, was an extended commercial.
Jackie was " tired " of working 4 hours a day and making crazy money? All he had to do was wake up at 4:30am and that was a problem? Half the country wakes up early. I worked construction in Manhattan and woke up at 4am and worked until 3pm. Jackie led a privileged life.
Love Jackie but he's a perfect example of the ol' saying "Winners focus on winning and losers focus on the winners."
Jackie is awesome on the show
Howard, Fred and Robin can try to hide it behind a million jokes but Jackie was right. Howard would rather hoard 99% of the money the show made. He could easily pay every single person there 4x what they make and he would still be a millionaire a hundred times over. I can’t imagine being greedy on that level.
Jackie and Billy single handedly build the show
If its two it wouldn't be single handedly
billy is an unfunny hack. just like gilbert.
It was actually Howard... but the Jackie years were great. Billy West is my favorite. And Artie was funny.
so were the prank calls and wack packers
The Jackie years were great, but it's like when you see an episode of It's Always Sunny before Frank was really a part of it. It was good, but it just feels like it's lacking something when you see it now. I'd take the Artie years over the Jackie era any day.
@@IAEMThatIAEM Jackie/Billy West era was the best.
I love how in the thumbnail picture of this clip you only see Howard's huge Adams apple and part of his Witch's chin.
Post your pic. We all need a good laugh
The hate from Fred is so sad. They all talk about sal kissing his Howard's ass, Fred is so far up there
Yep & robin is the worse at it 😂
That's where the moola is.
This is amazing content I've never heard. Do you have this entire show? I missed May through December 2005 because my local station had taken Howard off the air. Any shows from then would be awesome.
2005 is available on piratebay in its entirety
@@nialllappin4159 what is that, I've never heard of it?
@@ml9867 it’s basically like a Napster. It has everything you downloaded for free.
"MAWBLZ!"
He was a cheap, swindling, carny alcoholic. But, i loved him on the show.
What? Howard doing the bs thing. The news was never about “skewering” Howard. They never did any kind of news that put Howard in a bad light.
Howard always had robin, Fred, and Gary in the palm of his hands. Fred doesn't even want to think about what he would be doing if he and Howard never crossed paths, robin would be continued as a straightlaced news woman instead of doing a hackneyed job at just cutting stories out of the newspaper and passing it off as work and spending the rest of the show laughing and agreeing with Howard, and wouldn't dare rock the boat and ruin his amazing deal going from getting lunch to being the shows producer despite hardly being qualified for the job (Gary seems like the most decent and sane of them all and the one I like the best as a person by the way). The three of them allowed Howard to make all of the money while leaving them the scraps to divvy up between each other because they knew outside of this show they'd be lucky to have a career in show business let alone do anything that could remotely come close to the gig. Jackie and Artie on the other hand had varying levels of success in show business and knew how to get a decent deal for themselves and always had the option to jump into other pursuits if push came to shove. Artie just made his on the road using the show so he stayed relatively happy as far as financially, Jackie was there as the show reached new heights and kept seeing Howard's pay grow exponentially while his and everybody else remained stagnant and seeing as he was on the air as long as Howard was writing his jokes he always felt he should see a rise in pay as well. I don't think he deserved as much as Howard but if all these new markets are being broken and tv shows are becoming hits partially due to you you'd be miffed at the fact your pay stayed the same too. All the while Howard just kept getting richer and richer. He'd tell Jackie not to count his pockets but back in the day when they'd discuss Jackie having contract problems they would start to figure in the fact that he has no kids and if he stopped funding Nancy and her furkhachte hobbies the money would go a lot further AKA counting his pockets. Jackie isn't perfect in this whole thing, he should be been more genuine with his wants and just say he resented the huge pay disparity between Howard and everyone else while calling them all a team, but look at Billy west, he left for greener pastures too! He saw pretty quickly Howard was gonna exploit his talents and not pay him adequately so quietly bounced and made a great career for him self something that the others Jackie included knew they couldn't do. Artie was smart (in the beginning) counted his blessings and made extra money on the roads, Gary stuck with Howard knowing this was the best shot he had in this business and wound up getting paid pretty well in th move to satellite, robin made off like a thief due to her psychopathic undying loyalty to Howard, and Fred seems like he would've put up with anything to be here because him most out of everyone was afraid to imagine life after the show. I understand Jackie and his resentment totally but in hindsight had he just stuck it out and handled the negotiations better until Sirius things would have worked themselves out. I also think he resented Howard because of how he would say he wasn't involved in the contract negotiations (which he knew wasn't true) but would belittle and put Jackie down iterating how easily replaceable he was and should take whatever he was being offered rather than helping out or staying neutral like he claimed to be.
What on earth are you rambling on about? You even said it yourself, Robin and Fred would be lucky to have a career in radio if it wasn't for Howard, and his "scraps" as you call them, are millions of dollars. Where on earth would Fred or Robin make millions? How much did Artie and Jackie make before and after the show? What about JD, Jason or Will? And what show is Gary producing other than Stern? You think they'd have houses in Greenwich, Manhattan and down the shore of it wasn't for Howard? It's entertainment to us, but it's a job to them, and I get that Howard is one of the cheapest guys in the world, but without him, all these guys other than Billy West we wouldn't even know about. Howard owes them a lot, but the reason they're so loyal is cause they wouldn't have the career or life they have without the Golden Jew.
Do you have the show when Rodney was in studio ???
Yes, it’s on UA-cam.
27:28 this 'full autonomy' changed fast
SHUT UP ROBIN !!!
Jackie's constant Beatles analogy he's used for decades is so cringe. Every time he says that he acts like it's the first time he's done so
Yeah that’s definitely Jackie for ya lol
That's how delusional Jackie was and still is to this day . If Jackie genuinely apologized for his walk outs and admitted he left the best thing he ever had maybe Howard would have taken him back after Artie imploded.
The beginning of him over hyping everything about Sirius. How many times did he slip in comments about the news team . “ is my news team something or what?” They interviewed Jackie. Many have. It’s not earth shattering
This is a compilation but it would be great if you can take out all the crap about the news department. What does that have to do with Jackie?
i love how people cant listening to these old clips without lamenting the current stern show... *how about realizing that you are getting older and that is what you are mad about. i wish it was 1998 sometimes too... guess what... it isnt*
Jackie was valued by Howard if not his disappearance would have gone unnoticed.
Prob an understatement to say Jackie overestimated his worth ...what a dope.
I disagree. Howard became noticeably less funny once Jackie left and relied on the circus aspect of the show to compensate
40:08; weird conversation knowing what we know about Artie now
Imagine a show with Artie Jackie and Billy and no wiggy and Blobbin 🔥
And Jackie was a significant aspect of the og HSS: why wouldn’t he assume he would make additional money whenever they went into a new market (which Howard and KRock would make millions off of) why wouldn’t you give the core members a small fraction at least to keep morale intact? Now that’s being cheap imo
Lol the News department having autonomy didn’t last long
Its funny how many people were on Howard News in the beginning, why did he need a staff that big for? Their news stories were so mundane because there wasn't even enough for them to cover even though the move to Sirius was such big news on it's own. The whole news team idea is long gone right?
Yes. Same with the third channel. The radio sitcoms. The commercial free broadcasts. The daily broadcasts. Super fan round table. Geek time. Howard stern the high school years. Porky's reboot. Kinison biopic. Son of the beach. Etc etc etc etc
Howard didn’t need Jackie or Artie, Howard is so much funnier on his own. 😂😂😂😂😂
5:50 real moment of honesty from Howard... He wasnt sure the show would be as good without Jackie.
Also... he is an old man now... obviously he isnt as interesting in his 60s and 70s
Carlin became more interesting as time went on. He was funny until the end.
Jackie was right about howard thats why the actual show never had any money to do outside shows. Stern wanted everything and if anything was left Robin took it. Thats why stern for years took advantage of fans for free content and labor
Tom Chiasano and Mel decided what people got paid
@@nialllappin4159you can’t really believe that lmao if howard wanted Jackie they would’ve paid him whatever he wanted. Howard didn’t want to give him all that money
@@nialllappin4159Exactly. These commenters are honestly worse than stern fan network was back then.
Although, almost identical anger
@@IAEMThatIAEM That's just one side of it. Obviously Tom and Mel were corporate tools who were always going to pay the absolute lowest wage they could get away with. Stern could've stood up and demanded that the people who make him entertaining get paid a decent wage - but he didn't, because he's a narcissistic pig who'd rather think it's all because of him and everybody else is just riding his coattails. Meanwhile any Stern employee could've left at any time to go work for a company that actually valued them - but they didn't, because they're servile beta stooges who can't believe they're working for this scumbag that they're dumb enough to idolize. So there's always been this uneasy, resentful, bitter relationship where everybody but Howard and Robin know they're being exploited, yet at the same time they get "opportunities," but if they take advantage of any of them Howard has a pissy little bitch fit and rails them for it.
What kind of outside shows? There were a shitload if ancillary shows. If you’re talking about terrestrial radio well there is a finite amount of time slots that are dedicated to different things. It’s not like Sirius with two whole channels for nothing but stern and anything else he wanted.
So what are you referring to?
It’s hilarious.. Howie has the mic.. so people just listen blindly.. Jackie wanted more money, that Howard was obviously not willing to part with , he makes money and no one else does .. he gets his back up whenever anyone brings up their $$$ situation
Saying Jackie made no money is ridiculous. Robin is insanely rich
@@uggggggghhhhh he’s notorious for underpaying his staff. He also actually has mocked people in the past for their low salaries ..
@@dustinsmith5624 theres a difference between being underpaid and not making money. He was making half a million in the 80s which is insanely rich but he got greedy and thought he could get more. In 2001 he was negotiating for 1 mil which is a lot of money.
Howard is greedy for sure but jackie was never broke when working for him.
Jackie felt he should be making just as much as howard which is moronic.
You dont become the manager of a mcdonalds restaurant and demand a salary based off what the ceo of mcdonalds makes.
Artie was accidentally mailed Garys paycheck and Artie said that Gary was making a lot more money than him. Gary even thought that Artie felt he was overpaid.
Iirc, Artie was making almost 800k a year so... Gary is certainly not underpaid. Keep in mind that Artie worked 4 hours a day from monday - thursday to eat, sleep and tell jokes in the studio.
You never hear Gary, Artie, Fred, Robin, etc complaining about their paycheck just because Howard makes more than them.
I dont base my salary off my boss' salary. I dont think im underpaid because my boss makes a lot more money than I do.
Robin put it nicely "Jackie, you hopped onto the train, you didnt create the train" as a reason for his "low" salary.
I think the people that are justified are the people Howard took advantage of and had them working for free like Grillo. Or the people that got fired over the air like the tv and news crew. I do feel outrage on their behalf but definitely not for Jackie.
@@dustinsmith5624 My longer reply got deleted but
Jackie was never underpaid. In the 90s he was making at least half a million per year.
In 2001 he was negotiating to get 1M but the issue was that he was constantly comparing his paycheck with Howards. Like, he saw himself as his equal.
Robin put it like this: "Jackie, you hopped onto a train. You didnt start, create or conduct it"
Meaning that Jackie went in when they were already successful. Howard, Robin and Fred had put in all the work by then so they resented Jackie for demanding something they didn't think he deserved and for being a diva.
He would request the books, he wanted to see how much the show was getting in revenue and how much Howard was making. If Howard made more money, he felt he should get a percentage of that but you dont become a manager at a huge chain store and request a salary based off the salary of the CEO or the revenue of the chain.
Basically, he was never poor or anything. He just got greedy.
Artie accidentally saw Garys check and said Gary was making a lot more than him (artie was making at least 800k)..
Gary was never like "Howard is making a lot of money this year so I should get some of that!!" and neither did anyone else.
The ones I do feel outrage for are the people that worked there for free for years like Grillo. Howard definitely took advantage of him. At times, Howard came off almost psychopathic like, Benjy at one point couldnt even afford housing when he started. He would literally bathe at a gym and eat peoples leftovers. I think thats ridiculous considering the success of the show.
@@uggggggghhhhh agreed there about Jackie.. he did get greedy.. I’m more talking about the jd kc andSal types.. they get small salaries while contributing to a show that’s live and popular ..they shouldn’t be wanting for anything working for that phony.. also I think he should personally write a check to each wack packer for all the content they created for almost nothing .. he’s just a total pos in my opinion
Glad Hackie left the show! He did us all a favor by getting us Artie😝
Wow you know I typically always assumed Howard was just full of shit, but yeah I kinda see what he means regarding Jackie: even him sitting in studio with glasses on and purposefully circling stocks and shit is def a passive aggressive move - it’s like hey shithead I’m gonna do this in front of you and on your time because I have to earn the extra money you won’t pay me. lol fr that is absolutely a passive thing whether Jackie was even aware of it or not
Everything Jackie did was passive aggressive. Even his over the top laugh at the jokes he wrote for Howard was his way of forcing everyone to give him credit
Jackie was yoko because Howard was Lennon, Robin was Paul, Gary was Ringo, and Fred was George
Peace and love peace and LOVE
Howard may be wrong 90% time he called jackie leaving 100%. Said soon as Jackie left he get a divorced and fall off cliff and thts exactly wht happend. Irony jackie wanted more $ and almost instantly lost half in divorce
Within 8 months of leaving Stern , he and Nancy were done and he quite booze. Still smokes pot because he's been growin it in his yard over 30 yrs and it's all freeeeeee!
Future Arty should have re-listened to 27:45 about the news team, might have avoided the Lisa G drama...
Love Howard but the money thing is my biggest knock on him. Him making 12mil while Fred robin and Jackie make 200kish is just too big of a gap. I get that Howard was hurting after the divorce and scared. But once he banked 100mil and no more child support he should taken care of the whole team.
He was never hurtin after the divorce . He still had millions and millions lived in a penthouse and had a mansion in the Hamptons . Gtfoh hurtin 😅 hurtin is when you have no money for gas or to pay the rent . He was still worth over 100 million in 1999 . Hurtin 😅
no no I agree. I just meant mentally he just gave up Half of his lifes work. Like gone instantly and like you said it was millions. Then he had to pay alimony and child support im sure. So he was meanly hurting and got scared. But once that dust settled there really isn't any excuse not to pay his ppl@@mrbill9248
You could say that about every billionaire. Why sit on a mountain of wealth that you can't even spend in your lifetime, when you can share with others. Especially the people that helped you become rich.
The only good Jackie moments are when everyone is making fun of him
Fred gets really aggressive with his impressions. He doesn't know when to cut it off.
Borefest beyond the Jackie stuff.
Howard kinda proved Jackies point @13:35. When Howard moved to a new market he wouldn't pass on the uptick in salary to anyone else. He tries to make an analogy and it doesn't work. So yes, he is trying to keep the 100 marbles
You mean management "wouldn't pass on the uptick in salary to anyone else."
Howard never owned any of the stations where we worked. He's as much of an employee as Scott the Engineer in terms of company ownership...
@@SkateOrDie666from what I've heard, Stern got a big chunk of money to divvy up between his crew but idk how true that is
@@redwolfe7049 Thank you for the insight. May I ask where you've heard?
Jackie, Robin and Fred did get an uptick in salary as syndication went on. Jackie wanted a piece of the action, but that was never going to happen. But as the show went into new markets, Jackie obviously got more money out of it.
Ironic as now the stern show is literally unlistenable. He got lucky getting Artie. Go listen to the bullshit now and you’d swear it’s not the same show.
The show is so bad now it’s painful. Howard is just coasting for as long as Sirius is willing to keep writing him those massive checks. He very clearly doesn’t care about putting on a good show anymore.
What is with you people? When are you gonna stop listening to all the stern stuff in the past and commenting that it’s not the same. Of course it’s not the same. It’s 20 3040 years later. Don’t listen like howard always said. All you have to do is turn your dial. it’s so boring to read all you fools with the same thing over and over again. the man’s almost 70 years old. He’s evolved into a different show. He’s changed. Do you want a 70 year old man to put on the same show as a 30 something year old man. Rest in peace Ralph, but Ralph would say, dummies.
Howard gets covid after 50 shots. But he says he probably would of died without them. Go woke go insane
I know. It’s almost like people get old and nothing lasts forever

Hackie full of shit as usual. Now he quit because he was "tired". He also lied, one time Howard made fun of him for paying Rodney back in jokes and denied it after admitting it on the show

Jackie deserved better, and fucking Stern was worse for it.
I do think Jackie and the crew should've got more money when Stern became half a billionaire or Artie if Jackie still left
The show would be nothing without Jackie, Artie, and Billy. Howard Gary and Robin are talentless
Howard fired all these people from the news dept he don't say that
The Beatles were Howard, Jackie, Fred and Billy. Robin wasn't even Yok Ono.
This is actually pretty awful. Shouldve stayed in the vault
Artie so bad on radio everyone talks over him. Then artie has to wait until the talent talks then speaks.
Think about when Jackie left to where the show is now... it may of tookn5 years to notice but now the show is shit
Watched and listenwd to then for many yrs. I can say from personal knowledge that they were Losers...all of them. 🙄
Robin is unbearable to listen to, if I wanted to hear everything Howard says twice I would just rewind.
Sad Howard fired all these people
