Awesome video, wow! Dealing with Coopers and Sharpie now hunting my birds. I have amazing footage too, video of a Sharpie and a European Starling eye to eye literally, and that Starling wasn't going easy or quietly, it was epic battle till the end - the circle of life. And I was right there with camera and video and that hawk did not care at all. It was sad to hear the screams from bird I love them, heart shaped bellies on the Starlings. So I didn't get much sleep - but circle of life! Love my backyard birds and squirrels - wildlife is the BEST!
Cooper's hawk catching a sparrow? Wow, what precision and what eyes! Thanks for sharing and seeing up close what a Cooper's Hawk looks like, subbed to a UA-camr who lives in upstate NY, and a video he took in August of this year, he points his camera in the direction of a tall tree with 3 of these hawks in it! But those images were of li'l white dots in a sea of dark green leaves.:)
I am not sure but it almost looks like a Goshawk or maybe a big Sharp-shinned... although I think it’s too big. The eyes don’t look very Cooper Hawk like, very large and forward facing. Other than that in this they are pretty hard to differentiate, there are other things like shape of tail feathers etc I am by no means positive, it is definitely one of the 3 beautiful Accipiters. They are all amazing birds and very closely related and are also constantly confused for one another by all 😎👍🏼
Trust me, that hawk ended up coming to my yard on a super regular basis. I named her Naida. Definitely, 100% a Cooper's hawk. I have a million photos of her.
rava67 After I looked at it better I could see the Cooper Hawk and I agree it is Coopers; it has Hackles, and the size is a right. I wasn’t feeling so good that day, I could really tell after I read my comment because a Goshawk has a different breast 😳
West Tucson. I have figured out since posting this that this is actually a girl. She hangs out in my yard a lot on summer days while she's teaching her babies to hunt (and does hunting demonstrations for them using my feeder birds as target practice). It's really cool to get to see so much of her for several months a year!
O shit. Ur lucky. Thats crazy she brings young there to hunt w her. I have a pair of cooper hawks that hunt my yard and sourrounding areas. Im hoping ill get the juveniles this summer hunting too. Thnx
That's nature. How about humans excited about "catch & cook" fishing vids, folks drooling over barbecue beef or pork ribs, steaks, lobsters, or chicken wings? A lot of beings on earth eat varied meat forms. Likable vid.
Hey guy nice video man I'm a fellow birder and I love bird I would really like the support if you would comment and like on my videos and subscribe to my channel I hope to see you comment and this spring I will be go to fort de Soto and get some major shots of some magnificent migrating birds
One of the best hawk videos and the doves reaction !- priceless thanks for filming and sharing.
lol the way the doves get spooked.
The prey was a fledgling, not an adult bird.
Awesome video!
Nice video , Its hard to choose tho .., Hawk is a beauty also doves are a beauty .. 😑 But , Every living thing has a purpose .. 🙏

The doves recognize that their predator's talons are tied up. The hawk is not in hunting mode.
The doves were alert from the moment the cooper's hawk came into the general area. They were watching everything. Morbid attraction.

Accipiter nisus. Is a Eurasian Sparrow hawk . This is a coopers hawk.. Accipiter cooperii..
D.K.W. DIRT BIKES Thanks a lot for the information 🦅I dont know too much about American birdlife
Amazing! Who woulda a thought the doves would fly in like that.
Looks like a fledgling
So cool. Backyard action is the best.
Excellent video! Those Mourning Doves were so focused they were clueless to the hawk.
They notice movement. Hawk moved his head.

I have three of these in my backyard
Imagine a 50 feet tall giant on ya
Yep, circle of life. Your right
Thay little catch was just an appetizer.
I guess Mourning Doves have a high birth rate
Very nice work.
I have one that hangs around, but when it is close by, no birds are at my bird feeder.
That poor birdie has no meat, only feathers and tiny bones. Hawk should catch field mice or clean up the roads from road kill. So sad.😥
What a stupid comment
Tucson? Sonoran desert they say has more wild life than the amazon jungle.. idk if that can really be true but interesting.
nice work

Cool deal
rava67 it is a younger adult probably around 2nd to 3rd year Cooper Hawk. You know why I say that right
@@robinsmith1091 Yellow eyes. :)

It’s nice when they take out rodents but I feel sad if it’s a song bird....still just nature.
Too bad for the little bird, but that is how it goes. Nice editing and presentation!
That's a bad ass sighting. Where is this?

I'm vegetarian, but I certainly don't expect Cooper's hawks to be so!
Guys it's daylight ,it's diurnal ,so this is a 1 answer classification
Less bird shit to worrie about eh
its a bird
The doves know the hawk caught something so isn't interested in them.
