Rueben had plans to keep the intruder busy petting him and giving him compliments while the humans in the home activated their intruder plan. He had begun to put his part of the plan in action when said intruder realized her mistake. Roo only got one OH YOU’RE CUTE and no petting. He needs a treat to make up for the attention he didn’t receive. No protests. We don’t make the rules, Roo does.
I'm with Reuben lock your doors. Today it is so unsafe everywhere . I would keep the doors locked and make it more difficult for someone to walk in. This is advice from someone who has left her key in the door and accidently left the door unlocked for a day and a half. Luckily no one came thru the door. Roo is so cute as usual and on guard duty for anyone who rides a bike or walks past your house. He might even bark if you receive a package, in case it's treats for him. LOL

His genetics clearly have made him a perfected lap dog, which he has definitely perfected, so I think Roo deserves a treat for showing great manners to the unwelcome guest❤🐾🍕🥯

Be glad Reuben is a sweet, gentle, friendly dog. You don't get sued when a dog just wags its tail at people. My own dogs are also socialized NOT to attack. My German pinscher will bark at strangers, but not attack them, and my beagle bull, like Reuben, just goes up and wags his tail at them. He wants to be friends with everybody. I much rather have it this way.
