Yup This is the show that should have been filmed & multi track recorded. But of course it wasn't. Very thankful to the taper who did record it, One of the best & I have most of the recordings that were done
Would have been cool to hear and see this concert recorded professionally.
Ryan Elison probably has been its just jimi’s copyright they aren’t releasing anything, i think in good time they will release everything they have like the maui concert they did recently. I don’t mind it means i don’t end up binging 100s of jimi recordings haha
There IS footage of this show but not much.
I don’t think it was all filmed. Someone captured little moments. There’s a fantastic version of Hey Baby that someone mixed. Turned it stereo. I’ll post for you.
@@ranu5442 Well that guy is long gone so who has it?
People like Steve Vai are guitar players, great guitar players; Hendrix is something else entirely. It really is like some form of alchemy wherein he is conjuring something elemental from the very ether.
He is more than just notes being played. Jimi was music, and had a connection to that music that comes along once every 10 years or so.
It's called genius... The Uncanny...
10 years? Oooh no! Scuse me You're not just bizarre You're also clueless! Name one musician and composer, just one, who appeared after Hendrix! It's been 54 years and there hasn't been one (1)! What we've heard since then are repetitions of long standing chords that don't eletrify anyone even with all the high technology of today! Hendrix used only a wah-wah pedal and majes any mortal believe that other dimensions exist! Stay tuned, boy!
I was there - 41:25 minutes into the session Jimi’s troussers cracks and he lieves the stage to change. Saved by a drumsolo.
Those 70s fashions u used to wear... Damn
I met Billy Cox and he told a story of this also happening at the Isle of Wight, said Jimi whisked away behind the amps and they safety pinned his trousers together 😄
🤣
Nice. I was 6 months old lol
Jimi is never anything less than himself. A unique individual and a musician of unfollowable thought. Always unbelievable. Such a shame he died as a boy.
Picassos father a Professor at Genoa Uni said that Picasso had surpassed him at 13...
Wish I could go back to these last 15 days and make sure jimi was okay...I’d love to see him get old but I love that his legacy is preserved back in the 70s and he will forever remain young and a mythical being. Fire was my first song of memory when I was a baby my father would play it in the Car when I was tiny. Love you forever jimi
Yes I agree with you.
Hendrix aint that far away. In fact, that entire...naw, I wont go that far with it.
This version of Hey Baby - New rising sun is in my view truly ethereal ⚡️
One of my favorite Jimi songs. The Rainbow Bridge version just kills me. Every time he played it live that I have heard it was so different. God, how I wish we had a good board recording of this performance. The way he plays with time is so different than the other versions I have heard. I just depended on the mood he was in to inform his performance at that time. He was truly one of the greatest musical minds of the last century. So good.
This Red House rendition is an incredible display of improvisational phrasing. The wah quacking is a real treat. Amazing how he could find new ways to express this song.
21:42 When he solos with lavish improvisation, it sounds so dramatic , like he can channel melodies like a opera singer through his guitar.
I love this version he’s screaming the lyrics and normally you don’t hear that from him !!! Sounds great
That is what I am hearing as well. He is really singing his ass off, and usually he pays most attention to his guitar. He sounds so alive and full of vitality here, it is so hard to believe he was gone a couple of weeks after this performance. This performance compared to the Isle of Wight is night and day. He is just playing his ass off here.
Yeah on message of love it’s amazing I love it

Beautiful❤
His finest show on that final European tour, without a doubt!
Isnt this the one where he seemed tired and finally muttered "I've been dead for a long time"? It really was one tour too many, he should have gone back to New York after the Isle of Wight.
@@louise_rose no, that was Arhus the night before.
@@davegilbertmusicbecause he hadnt slept in days and apparently drunk a bottle of Whiskey before going to the Stage... Thats the Concert that was canceled After 2-3 songs right?
Good Lord he was just killing it!! Being so close to the end, I was expecting a more restrained performance, but man, he was on fire!!
Machine Gun. Watchtower. Everything is so exceptional. To the person who said they wish they could go back an Make sure Jimi was OK. Listen to his playing. That’ll answer that question. He didn’t pass because of Drug overdose. I still believe his death was either just a bad accident. But the fact it took so long to respond for people to come to his aid? I’ll never really know. Bottom line. It’s awful confusing. They can’t kill his legacy of music. Thanks so much for the merge of recordings. Absolutely fantastic job!
Jimi drunk red wine. I used to drink it and I used bath like fk on it. Couple this with the barbs... Jimi was only young.... When I drunk white I was never sick... Death by misadventure.. Maybe not the conspiracy... This may b why barb use is severely restricted... It wasn't just jimi who died thru there use..
Monika took too long to call a ambulance.
@@tomh1593 yeah. I’ve heard she went out for awhile. None of us will ever know. Took years for the guy responsible for Brian Jones to admit what happened. I believe we go when it’s our time. I have strong belief in God. After all he gave us Jimi
Agreed. His vitality here is astonishing. This is not the depressed guy of the Isle of Wight. I wish we had a good soundboard of this show, as it is one of the best I have heard. His singing and playing are explosive. We will never know exactly what happened to Jimi that horrible day, but his music will continue to blow the fragile minds of human beings for centuries to come.
I agree, it was a terrible accident and a mistake he made misidentifying sleeping pills. That's not glamorous enough for someone as special as Jimi. Or Jim Morrison having a heart attack in the bathtub .People think something more exciting, like covert murder, or going into hiding makes more sense.
Im sure years from now the technology will be able to clean up the audio and AI will be able to recreate the concert visually based on documented footage and photographic imagery.
JIMI PLAYING ,NEW RISING SUN,IS PURE TALENT,MISS JIMI SO SO MUCH,THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYONE LIKE HIM EVER AGAIN.😎🎸🔊🎶☮️ BOB.
Randy Hansen play like Jimi, succesor.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this! Been listening to Jimi since 1967. This performance has left me speechless. So tragic that he's gone. Nobody, and I mean anybody, even comes close.
15 days before he died ! HE don't sound dead to me !!!! Or suicidal !!!
Man I guess we will never really know the truly full story of his last days and frame of mind !!!!!! Just ashamed he left way too early. He fulfilled his purpose while he was alive on this earth but the possibilities had he lived.......
totally agreed. can you believe it 4 friggin' years man and his music is STILL heard around the world and sellin like a muther!! Play on Jimi,we love you forever man. peace and love always!
His death was either a murder or horrible accident IMO
Listen it could never be suicide ....forget it something else..
No way suicide. He was just careless, extremely open to experience (no pun) and highly fatalistic. He gave many clues in his lyrics. It also was not murder. Just the shittiest thing ever to happen to the greatest guitarist who ever will exist.
What an amazing show... Mitch and Billy Cox are so tight, Hendrix is flying at ease with his endless flow of creativity, and also demontrates extreme stamina and technique to pull it off. Hard to believe he died 2 weeks after. Hope its never taken down!
When jimi was on form even SRV took a bow
Jimi Hendrix the master shaman at work, and play on guitar 🎸and vocal.
Casting his mystic spell 🕉 on this young audience. And the entire universe ✨ at the same time. Beyond time and space.
Eternally echoing throughout existence; indoctrinating hearts and minds
into rainbow 🌈 land of peace and harmony.
Souls set free to fly and wander at ease among the stars 🌟 💖 🕉
Fly on Jimi.......
Clowns say they prefer SRV. Ignorance is srv
Wow, that was on, all of it.
this is much better quality than the one the official channel just put out - sigh
Experience hendrix wud charge if it wasn't unlistenable
He was one of the best, if not the absolute best guitar player of all time. In this incredible show he was in full command of his powers. His phrasing was so liquid and vocal-like, just out of this world. What happened 15 days after this show was just a terrible accident.
Thank god to who ever taped this gig a gem if rock n roll here
Ainda hoje e o melhor e pura guitarra
Esse cara nasceu para indoidar todo mundo
Man what stamina....jammin his ass off for over hour and a half.
33:10 - 33:50 spine shivers...
Unfu**ingbelievable!
Still cosmic even 50 years on in the year 2020.
Awesome concert....wish I could have seen him...I was 10yrs old when he did this concert.
Magical performance,by my reckoning. The finest of the last performances & up with Madison 5‐2‐70 as bands great bootlegs. Love Hey Baby & In From The Storm at this gig. Oh,& San Jose also great bootleg. Many Thanks...
I would have to add Baltimore 70 ......
1 9 1969 second show entitled Its Gonna Be Loud Stockholm. He flows like no other but with jimis genius. Nuance, creativity, magic....
Unbelievably fantastic !!!...this could easily be a Dagger release....Machine Gun is mind blowing !!!.....Billy Cox Hendrix all day long....from Band of Gypsies on......thank you......
Thanks so much. As a passionate guitarist and lifelong dedicated Hendrix fanatic I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic show. Two weeks before we lost him here. I remember that very day. Heartache made me a very competent musician. Thanks again, much appreciated
Jimi was one of the very few musicians not afraid to totally be himself amd play what he felt.
Hmmm...that intro to Hey Baby is absolutely transcendent. Beautiful. Thank you..
Sounds like drifting...
can you pick it out ?
@@fwebb1710 What do you mean?
robert watling like make a tab for it or notes?
@@fwebb1710 Oh...no. I'm not a musician, just a listener with big ears. Sorry, i don't know anything about that. Thanks for asking though.
I was there
tell us about it !!
please do
I loved this evening. Will never forget it- amazing. Eternal music
sounds like one of his best performances!...that he had many of! so much potential, going forward, was lost! never got the chance to "put it together"!
Best concert on that particular tour
One of the best ;)
From Beginning to end a Classic show ending with a ripping version of Fire!!
i love his little jeff beck reference at the end of "in from the storm"
WOW! Just days before he died. I have to listen to this.
Excellent sound quality.
Thanks for this❤ Especially enjoyed this Red House on this night!😮😢😊😂❤
Yeah he sounds great here .Which he normally did when he was not stoned or bone tired from endless tours. So much for he could not play at the end of his life.
Genius: Amazing! Crazy Sound...
Unbeatable guitarist, he still is THE ONE.
EL MEJOR GITARRISTA, DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS.JIMI HENDRIX
18/09/1970 - 18/09/2020 fifty years ...✊☮️🎸🎶
Thank you for the improved quality! This gig is a 1970 highlight, what a brilliant set list
Great Show Great Job, Incredible Hey Baby !!!!
Thanks for uploading. You are extremely cool to me, I love you!
Nothing tragic about this concert. His playing is free and emotional, and sounds like he is not playing with his guitar, but with his soul and heart. In spite of the poor sound quality, one can hear fantastic music. interesting new frasing on All along the Watchtower, incredible Hey Baby, fantastic Machine Gun and lots more. Even a lot different from the Isle of Wight versions of the songs. He was very very creative still. Play on Jimi!
That machine gun makes me cry with laughter he’s just got the thing fuckin dialed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I sometimes think he goes too far if u know what I mean...
MASSAGE OF LOVE SOUNDS GREAT,TRUE JIMI,THE BEST EVER NO EQUAL TO HIM,RIP JIMI.😎🎸🔊🎶☮️ BOB.
Thats a porn!
Excellent merge! Thank you!! 🎸🎭🥁🕊🏴☠️😎💜🌎
Long Live Jimi Hendrix Music !!!!
Yaaayyyy!!!!
He's THE BEST forever!!! Thanks very very much for this, it's fabulous!!
Mitch goes quite Bonzo in his SCM solo!
Best version of stone free i ever heard
An excellent performance, thank you for posting.
Oh J🎸🔥I♥️M🔥🎸I we'll L♥️VE U 4ev.!
P. S. )😯‼️This mix SOUNDS GREAT⚡‼️ Great job mate, really!! ♥️🤟🏻
❤
Damn good work here. Thank you.
This Machine Gun is gigantic. An electric scream.
That voodoo child, 14 minutes and I wish it to be longer 😅 and sunshine of your love ending 🙈
THANKS....
This live performance from jimi hendrix is mf awsome not to clear but clear love hendrix and band also 💪🏽✌🏼✌🏼👊🏽✌🏼✌🏽✌🏽😎
As a guitarist I love how he would go off into an improvised jam in the middle of a song. Spanish Castle magic about 40:27 is where the jamming starts.
Da Man Jimi Hendrix 😎😎😎😎💞💞💞💞💞💞💞😈😈😈😈💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the show it really rocks. If I remembered correctly his girlfriend Kirsten Neffer was I audience?
They sure got their moneys worth out of that concert.
This is amazing wow
Hey Baby! 🎉 So good!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seen many bands but the three guys that got out of a car with a trailer in 69 or 70, blew them all away, any one says Hendrix is not the best, can blow it out their butt.
Looks intimate
Boy he,was smoking that night!
Jimi es Dios!!!!
Graag jimi
Anyone have the march 24,1968 from the IMA auditorium in flint Michigan??? I live here and have a pic and concert bill of the show
53:14 Red House
They said he was burnt out, this proves different.
@@waynelynch3862 plenty of people have said he was burnt out,but they are wrong.
Wow! Where do you get these? Are there CD's available?
Not sure how this better than your earlier postings of this show.... but the highlights must be a text book version of All along the Watchtower. A rather chaotic version of machine gun but all is forgiven as he tears into Freedom. This really make the isle of Wight set somewhat sub par. Thanks again for your dedication to the cause
The Isle of White has always been sub par. I never listen to it. Poor sound + a tired and pissed off Hendrix who never really gets it together. The only reason it's well known is because it's one of the few that was professionally filmed and recorded.
I disagree somewhat. Machine Gun at Isle of White is phenomenal! ... and one of my favorite versions
Oh come on. His amps aren't working properly - flat mushy sound. Hendrix would never have released this if he were alive, he'd be embarrassed by it. I know that we Hendrix fans have a limited pool of recordings but ffs it's just a tired Hendrix going through the motions. I've always found the Isle of White a tad depressing.
Yes, Jimi are tired at the IOW, but he still play like a God there, and i really like his performance at the IOW !!! Actually it´s one of my favo-shows :)
Idk what you’re talking about machine gun is surreal here. Listen to the end of EZY Rider too it’s magic.
Red House 53:18
To play your guitar like Jimi it hurts your hand he is great
can anyone pick out that improvisation into hey baby? i would be so grateful, from 13:30 you can’t miss it
Its the kinda sounds like the chords of “Angel” at the beginning of the song.
@@TheArtofBlues g major 7 no? Thumb on root, index on 7th and the just do a diagonal with the rest of the fingers
テキトー男ジュンジ参上ヘッヘッヘッヘッ😁
I'm surprised clowns haven't said SRV is better. Trust everyone then I'm a better artist than Picasso. LOL
Is jimi doing the backing vocals on his guitar on hey Joe or is somebody sing. I reckon singing???
Billy Cox, the bass player, sometimes did backing vocals in Hey Joe.
Ray Vaughn overrated hack nothing more
