since the time this clip was shot, there has been a resurgence in 70's wood paneling sales....people have been gutting old buildings and farmhouses of any usable 70's paneling they can find because of it's warm acoustical reflective properties
This little piece of music saved me. It was a piece of hope in the midst of a dark addiction. I learned to play this piece on my strat, thats wad the beginning of my sobriety
Tom, I know I already said it once, but I will repeat myself: your playing is so pure, so honest, so melodic and this is something what you can NOT learn-you have to be born with that beautiful gift! All those "big technicians like Vai, Petrucci etc. can take a seat, watch and cry... they can play as fast as they want, but they simply can not create something like this, they simply do not have it. You are the true artist!
The song is an improvisation. The Tone is first and foremost from Tom's hands and heart, trust me on that one. The gear is a very lightweight ash bodied Original Senn Fullerton on the Lollar Blackface neck pickup through a Princeton Reverb with a touch of delay courtesy a Line 6 Echo Park.
You know that Bukovac is a monster when the builder leads off with a disclaimer letting you know that the tone you hear at home may not be the exact tone you hear on this demo. Not because of poor craftsmanship or shotty quality control, but because you are not, nor will you ever be, on the level of the guy creating the aforementioned tone in the demo. God, I love it! 😂😂😂 All jokes aside, Senn guitars are some of the best guitars money can buy, truly top shelf. Well done, brother!
❤beautiful especially 15 years later Jeff Senn. You did an episode with Tom about seven months ago and you had the high-voltage T-shirt on that’s my town.
Hey, just wanted to share with my fellow maniacs (you know, the guys who have been coming back to watch this video for a decade or more/lol) that Tom sat down and did an interview on the Thinkin' & Drinkin" podcast. Obviously, Tom doesn't do more of that stuff, so anything is a treat, but it's really a fantastic conversation. Also, in case you missed it, Jeff Senn did a TrueTone Lounge interview which is ALSO fantastic.
Tom is an amazing player! He still sounds great with the maple neck... I love the rosewood neck he has on it now as well, I think it speaks to him at a different level now. Great guitars Jeff! Cheers!
The Lollars have a wider frequency range and tend to "hear" the wood of the individual guitar better and translate that through an amp. They tend to take the "S" style guitar tone a bit further and enhance it while still having a vintage lineage. The Fralins are more traditional sounding albeit really good sounding at that. I'm generalizing though for the sake of description. We have used both brands extensively with outstanding results. The wood dictates what is needed
great stuff... I've been looking around for a guitar for a while and a Senn is probably top of my list... expect an order from Ireland in the new year..
Really nice saturation and granularity to the midrange tone - very Texas Special. Takes a guitarist of Tom's caliber to manage this. Love the way he articulates with bending the trust. I might have to steal that move.
Man o man, this just can't be totally improvised, come on it's just to friggin' perfect. I love that tune, I already learned it step by step, sec by sec. It reminds me of John Mayer and slow dancing in a burning room, same vibe. Total impro? I guess I'm not that talented as Mr. Tom :S At least his surname is from a neighbour country I live in :P Totally awesome :O
I think the Lollar Blackface or Specials would sound great in your Strat. Send them an email inquiry. Jason is quite the expert and can help with your choice. I don't care for Stainless frets myself. Too brite for me.
My answer was tongue in cheek & friendly jesting/questioning. If you read a derogatory or "shitty" tone to my response then you applied that yourself. It's one of the unfortunate things about the internet/chat forums. Things can be taken entirely out of context or read with a totally different tone than intended. There are many builders these days offering similar products at many price points and if you wish to spend your money with one of them I wish you the best of luck in your quest for tone

your the best BUKO
Still love wood paneling the cheesier the better
Sick

Post a video. Let’s see/hear it.
Holy shit, lol. Why youtube thought I needed to see some vintage Larry I'll never now. I am forever grateful to the cosmos.
I've been watching and listening to this for 74 years, and it gets better every time I hear it. ; -)
Anybody else here after Homeskoolin? Love Bukovak.
You know it. Home Skoolin.
The Body is standard size. Buk has large hands, a large heart and large feet. Women love him.

I have listened to this video so many times over the past 10 years. Unbelievable.

It’s like 2019 and I still go crazy over this video. Tom is from another dimension in vibe and performance. Love it.

'70's paneling? That's '50's era, old growth from the golden age of paneling. Much warmer reflections than the 70's variety. LOL!
Fantastic playing. Nice guitar too, I’m ashamed to say I haven’t heard of Jeff Senn Guitars until now. Really nice sounding.
I bet everyone who found this found pre Home Skoolin days are so stoked to have an immense amount of videos from Tom now.
You know it❤
Absolutely

Uncle Larry. Gotta love him.
Great playing right there...............thanks for posting this all those years ago.
Tom's had quite a number of Rolling Rocks here 😉
We have used the Lollar Blackface pickups in both rosewood and maple fretboard instruments with great results. A fine pickup indeed.
Tom ! Beautiful playing on an extraodinary instrument! You have been such an inspiration for my playing and views on music an d practice
I've been watching it for over 10 years. The guitarist and the sound of the guitar are so inspiring.
Check out Tom Bukovac UA-cam channel. You won’t be disappointed!
Gettin skooled from the gitgo and had to look this one up mid-volume 22. So glad I did.

God Damn... this makes me wanna cry, in the good way! Huge respect. : )

It's pretty simple I hate strats but I love TOM BUKOVAC
Buk is a players play. Insane taste
The guitar sounds amazing Jeff. Bukovac has old school soul
Geez that Princeton sure makes Tom sound good!
“Bob Gibson is the luckiest pitcher I ever saw. He always pitches when the other team doesn’t score any runs” - Tim McCarver
The neck thickness is .952" at the first fret and .983" at the 12th.
It is a soft, rounded "V" profile
This took my breath away. You've got major soul. Thank you for posting this.
The combo is a Princeton Reverb with a 12" Eminence Speaker and there is a bit of delay courtesy of a Line 6 Echo Park
Tommy, that is some damn fine playing!
Great sound and playing...Ryan Wariner also is an amazing player too...got that special sauce of all the right ingredients too
I've sent some questions via email and got very courteous responses from Jeff. Can't wait to own one of your guitars Jeff!
One of the finest players on the planet.
could listen to that for weeks.
I bought the Lollars Tom has in his guitar. They are currently in my Strat Deluxe with a maple neck. The best damn pickups....ever. Period.
my fav youtube clip for a long time - superb.
There is an Eminence Red Fang 12" speaker in the princeton in the video. The Eminence Private Jack sounds great as well
tom bukovac is an incredible human being
Beautiful tune, well played...Thanks!
Tom sure as heck can play that thing.
The radius is 9 1/2", 6105 frets

Sweet playing and nice touch !
Take this any day over the mode wanking speed merchants of metal ! Every guitar player needs to hear this slow the fuck down and feel the notes ! ❤️😎
great stuff... I've been looking around for a guitar for a while and a Senn is probably top of my list... expect an order from Ireland in the new year..
❤tone of a lifetime

Do you mean the truss rod? TRUSS rod not trust rod lol
Indeed
Well Jeff works on my guitars and they are the best. There is a difference. He makes amazing instruments.
Gorgeous.
Beautiful! Awesome gear!
Tom is amazing
that was beautiful.
Nice sound and playing.
The Princeton Reverb that Tom is using in the video is a '73 with a new cabinet
beautiful
Ive watched this quite a few times, really good.I think you met a new girlfriend/love here.
Man o man, this just can't be totally improvised, come on it's just to friggin' perfect. I love that tune, I already learned it step by step, sec by sec. Youngster Tom❤❤
You still got that MOJO, Tom!
Holy cow. I'm floored by that sound. How do the pups compare to, say, fralins?
GUH. amazing playing.
chills
I've got a MINT 1972 4x8 piece in a very rare cherry veneer, buk! I'll offer it to you first as it would be a asset to your paneling collection.
I think the Lollar Blackface or Specials would sound great in your Strat. Send them an email inquiry. Jason is quite the expert and can help with your choice.
I don't care for Stainless frets myself. Too brite for me.
sounds like whiskey lullaby
How's the Ole British bass you bought from me Tom?
Hows the hands doing? Hope your recovering well.
Later.
BirdDog.~
Sounds great!! Is it a princeton reissue or an original one?
that was awesome is that a song or did he improv it?
The song sounds like "The Lucky One" by Alison Krauss
One nice axe!
that's not a GILDAN is it??
are those lollar's flat pole or staggered pole?
Flat Pole, Ash Body
The lollar blackface is good for strtato with maple neck?
is it ash body?
Building a guitar are we?
Nice
Is an Ash Body
Did you have _A Case of You_ in the back of your mind when improvising this? :D
@@yagots2feelit Neuroscientists would beg to differ about that statement being taken literally!

It just does not get any better.
Very very tasy playing...

Great guitar, now get rid of the 1970's wood paneling. :)
