Great vids, very helpful. Did you settle on this one or the Alpha Revo 4000 from your other video? Regarding the latter, is it easily stowable? Small-ish footprint? Light?
I settled on this one for the cool factor. I would be happy with either one though. As far as the Revo, I wouldn’t call it small, it still takes up quite a bit of space. Not too light either.
Put the string deeper/lower in the clamp when using the starting clamp for a bridge and it won't slip out. for example, put the string below/under where the red string is in the starting clamp so the clamp grips it better. How are you liking the stringer so far?
I like it, I feel like the texture helps add a lot of spin and it is still quite comfortable for a full bed of polyester. Flat serves had good pop as well. However, I think it is pricey for what it is. I normally play with Dunlop S-Gut 17 (main) / Isospeed Baseline 17 (cross) for a total cost of ~$3-$4.
@@diyjosh Any reason you prefer syn gut on mains and poly for crosses? Rather than poly mains/syn crosses. More power and comfort? I've tried diff hybrids, but love to try new combos.
@@josephgdb4337 Yeah, I felt it was a tad bit more comfortable and also broke right in time before the poly went dead so it had a good timer. Which hybrid setups do you like to use?
@@diyjosh Tour Bite 19g mains/prince syn gut crosses. I like to restring often (2-3 weeks), so they break at a perfect time + the feel of thin gauge is amazing.
Cool machine. Did you buy this or stringing at a friend's place? Holy shit the string measuring is cool. You can starting clamp right next to the fixed clamp before the first main pull. I like to put the string through the tension gripper and pull it at an angle towards me, then pull tension because this helps hold the string better.
I bought it used for a really good deal. Maybe I should start a stringing business haha. I was trying out the Yusuki method of starting the mains. When you put the starting clamp as you described, how do you keep the string level? Thanks for the tip about pulling the string towards me, I was struggling to find a consistent way to have the gripper grab the string. I'll try it out next time!
@@diyjosh Ah just saw Yusuki method. The method I saw putting starting clamp against the fixed clamp was in a more recent video. Don't know if there's a difference. After double pulling the mains, the string is pretty level and I haven't had any issue with that.

How do you like that Diadem string and how does it play? I'm considering of buying a pack. Thanks.
