- Ever put your favorite artist up on a pedestal? Seeing them in their moments of success, while doubting that success is attainable for yourself? Someone may look successful in that moment but there have also been many failures and struggles that we do not see. In this video we talk about how that narrative holds you back in believing that you can also achieve those goals. I absolutely agree, if we make art we ARE artists! I occasionally give my art to friends, daughters, neighbors, and they appreciate my efforts. It's very gratifying, and I am encouraged!

Thank you Tammy. It really is the journey. I notice when I get frustrated and overwhelmed, painting and in life. I put pressure on myself. It’s not a good feeling. I have to step away, work through why I feel overwhelmed. Maybe I feel like I should be doing something else on my to-do list! It’s hard for me to find time to just relax and enjoy. Thank you for the reminder! 🫶🏼
You are so welcome Robin! Yes, walking away after feeling overwhelmed is a good idea and really helps. Lately what’s been working for me to relax is just listening to my favorite song or playlist with my earbuds and painting my heart out with a reference photo. It really is helpful to me

Right now, everything I do is a mess! I know now it’s just before a “growth”. I just don’t know how long it will last. Things I could paint before, it’s like my hand, and head have gone dumb. It’s just part of the process.
Thank you for sharing what your experience has been. Yes, I think we all go through that and it ebs and flows. But I like your mindset that it is part of the process. You will break through and figure out your style and what you like as you keep practicing ☺️
