I really like the episodes where there is significant disagreement, I feel like it forces everyone to really clarify and substantiate their arguments and dig deeper

Guys I'm an actual fan already haha! I will write a real post in any social media platform you guys use.
As a professional video and podcast editor, I can't tell you enough how well done this is.
Sound quality: 10/10 same room when you recorded this?
Title of the video: 10/10 makes it more like a lecture and deep conversation than just a movie review...
Topics discussed: 10/10 I mean incenstestry haha didn't see this being spoken to as "thethunderer" said the "about the south" haha.
Finally just keep going with this, will share it around and keep going strong on studio ghibli movies.
Could you guys cover two movies. royal space force wings of honneamise...and finally the 3 Patlabor movies!!!! 🎉❤😊

      Thanks for your kind words!
Patlabor is definitely in the cards. After we're done with all things Miyazaki and Takhata we have already considered Oshii next.
And I'm sure there's many more movies we can cover after that too.
Regarding sound quality: No, we weren't in the same room. I'm glad that it sounded like that though!

Script was Hayao Miyazaki & Keiko Niwa. Perhaps the mixed reflection on plot is the result of mixed authorship?

I think the most touching and emotionally resonant part if this film was the opening half and the bike scene in particular. We talked about how earthsea says all these things about life being worth living but barely showed that in anyway and instead depicted a world of violence and cruelty. But Poppy Hill is overflowing with a love for life, a simple and quaint life full of small interactions of care and community. Poppy Hill just by having it's characters exists and live decently communities so much more about the beauty of humanity than any grand standing epic fantasy that just rings hollow. In these few scenes I saw how much Goro had truly grown, almost brought me to tears.
