Thanks for watching during our summer of ‘24 push for 10,000 subs! Leave a comment and let us know if you were at the show. What does the music of Jimmy Buffett mean to you? Please be kind - remember to share, like and subscribe!
I saw JB live in West Palm. I'm one of the lucky ones. They closed with Southern Cross.😢
Jimmy has been and will be the soundtrack for my life. I wasn’t sure what it would be like to hear everyone else play his music without him. Last night was amazing.
Yes Sir- I feel the same about Jimmy Buffett!! I hope they play these songs for Jimmy..and all of us here missing him❤❤❤
I loved Jimmy and his music for over 40 years. Many covered it but nobody did this song as well as CSN.
The man still delivers 😍🤩😍🤩😍🤩
I ❤ J.D. Souther! He has written so many songs that were my favorites through the years. Great to hear him now.
I mowed grass so I could buy the Southern, Hillman, and Fury band album I was probably 12 I loved that music!
Dude, the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band harmonies are great! 👍🏼 To this day you remember the album you purchased with that mowing money. I doubt in the future anyone will remember the first time they “streamed” a song 😆
Jimmy knew who to hang with RIP
Glad to still see some real rock musicians playing live.
I know, right?
Born and raised under the Southern Cross, this is great.
What an amazing version of Southern Cross!!! I absolutely love this! Incredible harmonies!
Agree 💯!
what a heavenly, beautiful song. a classic. crosby, stills, and nash do a stellar job of it as well.
l thought steven stills wrote rhis song
Stephen Stills, Rick Curtis, and Michael Curtis wrote the song, first performed by CSN.
@@nzdave4317, now, I don't feel so stupid! I did too. And, he did.
This was definitely one of the highlights of the best concert I have ever seen in my life. JD Souther was awesome singing this.
Great to see Mr Souther.
Jimmy lived the life we all wanted to be or should be.
I am still learning to speak "Southernese."
I was introduced to The Great Jimmy B during Covid when I started jogging after my heart operation and listened to Come Monday on repeat over and over again and again never stopped. Now 4 years later when I jog - here come Jimmy and ofcourse Margarita on repeat …… RIP Jimmy B my idol
Proves you’ve got heart! ♥️ Keep jogging and jiving with Jimmy.
Blessed Jimmy
Thank you, so much, for putting together this together for all of us to enjoy. You are following Jimmy’s generous spirit and his nature of doing what he could to make others happy. Bubbles up!
Wonderful !
Thank you so very much for posting. It was a shock to see JD sing this song since his voice is a little fragile these days. It was wonderful because I think everyone was singing including the audience. A beautiful moment.
🌺❤️🦜✨
I think everyone was singing. Oh heck, I’m not a religious person, but I believe Jimmy was singing along in heaven. At least he was in my imagination 🤗
Fine salute to the man that fashioned my outlook on many, many things.
I saw the Southern Cross for the first time while at the wheel of the tall ship Europa as we sailed the Drake Passage to Antarctica. I always loved this song but love it even more now after that.
I live under it here in Oz (Australia)
JD NAILED this song!
So good....
☮️❤
This old CSN Song was done justice by Jimmy ... JD Souther, good choice ...
Gold !!
Jimmie would be proud
Sounds Great
Thank you for all these videos!
Souther Hillman and Fury! I think I got that correct! Sweet sounds. Okay now I listen.
Stephen Stills wrote it.
SC was written by the Curtis Brothers. SS got his name on it for $$$
@alienhuman Oh yes, Richard and Michael Curtis write “Seven League Boots” to which Stills rewrote the lyrics and chorus (that arguably made SC commercially viable.) Indeed, the song is a collaboration, that’s why all three are credited as writers.
@@ISIXOXISI ✌️
lookin" GOOD Doyle !!
I don't know if they make an appearance, but, it would have been nice to have Graham and Steven sing this song.
Great sound….drop it down a whole step for JD.
This is fantastic! Sorry I don't know but could someone please tell me who the mc/guitarist is? Thanks!
That’s Jimmy’s band mate Mac

did you get 5o clock as well?
No 😢
I thought Stephen Stills wrote this with help from Richard and Michael Curtis. It's more about a long sailing journey after his divorce ....... Southern Cross.
All true! But this was a favorite cover song for Jimmy and the Coral Reefers. Some folks prefer Bubba’s version to CSN 🤗

Also Timothy B. Schmitt sang background on this song with CSN.
Oh yes he did and what a great sound they had.
Wish Buffett would have covered the Ozark Mtn Daredevils' Southern Cross..
No one did one particular harbor?
Yes! Angelique Kidjo did it. If my memory serves correctly.

would have been nice if his mic was leveled, can't hear him as I would have like to...
It was way too fast. Like they had a bus too catch.
I prefer the CSN&Y version.
I do too! It was just CSN then as Young was out and David Crosby was barely back in. Stephen Stills and Graham Nash recorded the vocals, and David Crosby did perform the song with CSN at subsequent concerts. Cheers!
All the guitars... it's just a musical tapestry.
You're gonna give it back or go to jail
I've been personally hit with 3 big losses when it comes to music>> Jimmy Buffett, Toby Keith, and a few weeks ago Eric Carmen
Boat songs...
Man, everyone is getting old and tired. Age is a crazy thing. Not as strong as the old days sadly.
Even old and tired is way better than the pop crap that passes for music today (Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, et. al.).
@billdesinger8604 Wow, in my sixties and love all these artists at the Buffett Benefit. However I just saw Madonna, and dig Rhianna and Beyoncé as well. I say that all have some great stuff to offer.
Pitchy
All these people are talented, but Jimmy was the only genius.
So you didn’t see Paul McCartney on stage !
Thanks for posting these. I love every artist in the tribute. So much talent in one place. Thanks again.
