The people who took this drama seriously are so dang funny 😂 I mean, it's just their way of promoting each other 😂 Imo tho, this is even more fun than TwoSet vs. Davie 😂 On the other hand, I feel like it's becoming more of Percussionists vs. TwoSet instead of Triangle vs. Violin😅😂
@@PEACHIE-.- it is obviously advertisement. twoset and davie is looking for their "allies and enemies". herman li and another bassist guy is one of them (forgot his name). and now this triangle guy. i love how twoset started it with davie.
Haven't seen bassists defending themselves from the "we can't hear you!" roasts either, maybe bassists and violists are just too mellow to care :P (specifically double basses in this case)
The triangle has many advantages over the violin ... for example: - You can play Tetris while the violinists tune their instruments - You can hang your jacket on it There are many others, you can leave them below if you want ...
They are just promoting each others. I was waiting for that video. Nice one man! Triangle gang, Percussionnist gang! Huge brain! "I trigger people", 504 trigger bass
In a concert band piece my band played, called Farewell Symphony, the entire band ends up leaving the stage in groups as the song goes on, and the final person is a percussionist playing triangle, with a solo at the end. Coolest part.
I like this man. This video was recommended to me by youtube after a week I watched TwoSet's triangle vs. Violin.... I like his humour I like how he explain things.
I had a Triangle Solo!!!!! It was during a Honor Band performance. It was a 2 measure part where I played on beat 3, it was to keep the pulse, but it sounded EPIC
OMG. Mario in your intro made me smile wide, but THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER TOO???!!! Like, NOBODY KNOWS THAT MOVIE, BUT IT WAS SUCH A BIG PART OF MY YOUTH!!! ❤❤❤❤ (I mean, Mario defenitely too, but that's quite popular, so it didn't surprise me a lot to see him. Still happy you include him, tho.)
Alvin Lucier's "Silver Streetcar for The Orchestra" is an exceptional piece for solo triangle; John Luther Adams' absolutely sublime "Mathematics of Resonant Bodies" has a movement called "Shimmer" for several triangles; James Tenney's "Having Never Written A Note For Percussion" can and has been performed on triangle; and Stuart Saunders Smith has a piece called "Angels" for three percussionists playing three triangles each. Lots of great pieces for triangle in the contemporary percussion repertoire, as it should be: a good triangle is one of the most beautiful sounds in all of percussion!
@6:03 could you do another video explaining the dynamics and tone of how this was done. I never knew the Triangke had such a diverse range. New love of triangles found , thanks
As I was once a 3rd chair percussionist, I can confirm that my favorite out of all the ancillary percussion was the triangle. It’s place in the world commands the respect that it deserves!
My band director let us choose our instruments for our Christmas concert. Let me just say that I played that triangle like a freakin boss for the entire concert.
BASS wins. They do not even need to fight. There is no challenge here. Unless you mean something other than triangle when you say percussion. DRUMS and BASS are friends. Triangle alone is no match for the power of BASS, though.
Vionists: *flexes their ability on their instument* Percussionists: " hmm which one of my 100+ instrument shall I pick to totally *destroy your entire career* "
i believe it was leonard bernstein who had a special guest ask to play an instrument in his orchestra, something simple of which the triangle was suggested. bernstein then asked the guest to play a C-note, and repeat, and repeat. to which bernstein then asked which one of those notes was the C.
You can also play different parts of the triangle as well as just the 'sweet spot' like the corner for a quiet and gentle sound while the bottom bar is much louder and harsher in tone. That plus muting (not to mention multiple triangle variants) means that there is much more to it than hit=sound.
Today is a day that will live in greatness: Honored as "Meet Your Marine" of "The Commandant's Own" and displays his excellence as a Professional Triangle Player and challenges TwoSetViolin!
Triangle is actually deceptively difficult. I helped out a band rehearsal once and holy crap, it's difficult to get a nice sound on it. Cymbals, now those are easy.
Lol it was a joke. Have a look at their beginners vs pro series (there is one for percussionists as well) and you might understand their kind of humour.
You can in fact use a vibrato to make it sound nicer. Move the triangle back to front (not to fast, not to slow). It's often used by percussionists in symphonic music. The 'sweet spot' is also a little bit one dimensional. You can create different tones and articulations by hitting the triangle somewhere else.
Hey, in Brazil we use triangle in a bunch of musical genres, like Baião, Forró or Pisadinha. I Loved to see someone representing and kinda protecting this instrument that unfortunately is so underestimated!
Here's what it means to be a percussionist. I was playing in the pit for Fiddler on the Roof and it required triangle, and I didn't have one. So I substituted a 13mm wrench. It worked like a charm.
We hit the 10,000 likes goal! I will write the greatest triangle concerto the world has ever seen.
EPIC

He needs to go to practice...
I can say that safely without being slapped, but you can't hear the bass in songs for what ever reason.
I didn't expect a triangle to be that complicated.
Oh we humans are masters at complicating stuff.
Me too.
Is it because it has 3 sides...
