Yah, I'm a drummer, ringo was a GREAT METER, his timing was impeccable. First drummer left band and said they'd go where.... boy was he wrong... Beatles were masters!!
The first drummer was fired. They went down to London to audition for a recording contract. The record label told their manager the drummer wasn’t good enough, he told Paul, George, and John, and they were the ones who went to Pete Best and fired him, and then brought in Ringo. The record label loved Ringo. It shows they were always prepared to do whatever it took to get ahead.
@@artistjoh They knew Ringo well as a natural pal and the best drummer in the top band in Liverpool at the time. Pete Best could thump the drums but was never part of the gang. John, Paul, George, and Stuart needed a drummer to go to Hamburg and persuaded Pete to go with then as the only one available. His style was OK for dingy dives but not for recording and he didn't fit in as a character. Ringo took a risk leaving his apprenticeship just before completion and took a step down to join play with Beatles - they came to him, not him applying to them. George was most anti Pete and pro Ringo. You're right - they did have ruthless ambition to be best and biggest in world even then. See Mark Lewisohn et al
The reason the Beatles music sounds like it could be today’s music is because they shaped music to what it is now. The Beatles inspired so many bands and artists that you can hear in many of today’s songs. During their time the Beatles also influenced fashion, art and culture. They were a once in a lifetime group that will always be remembered.
the production on Beatle songs is so good because one of the fortunate accidents of history is that the Beatles ended up with George Martin as their producer... they understood each other
Fun fact - That was Billy Preston on organ. The days you do a Beatles song are good days, and this was a really good day. If I may make a few suggestions - While my Guitar Gently Weeps (George), I am The Walrus (John) and Eleanor Rigby (Paul). If you want to hear something Ringo, I'd suggest Octopus's Garden (which actually preceded I Want You on Abbey Road). Yellow Submarine is his most popular Beatles song but he actually wrote the other one.
@@nowhereman4041 Billy Preston played with the Beatles from 22nd - 31st January 1969 and played on 2 tracks on Abbey Road I want you and Something and of course he performs with them on the rooftop session.
@@redletter2008 very true. Though fun fact - The Monkees came close. Micky had a #1 with Last Train to Clarksville and I'm a Believer. Davy had a #1 with Daydream Believer. Mike had a #1 in Canada with Tapioca Tundra and Peter can be very prominently heard on Words, which hit #11.
I thoroughly enjoy watching these reaction videos. It's so much fun to see this young man get his mind blown by the unmatched genius of The Beatles. Love hearing the giggles of delight.
Abbey Road has a song medley starting with, “You Never Give Me Your Money,” and continues through to, “The End,” which is the last song. That’s a total of seven songs many of which are under two minutes. Ringo has a drum solo in, “The End.”
And before Ringo's one-and-only drum solo on a Beatles record, Paul, John, and George take turns taking lead guitar 2 measures at a time, 3 times each, for a total of 18 measures. You can hear their individual playing styles in those 18 measures. Always love that.

I'm an old white guy and I sure love your excitement about the Beatles they were definitely a Time changer and grew up with them is something you will never experience but I did they were more than a band they were an era
A Day in the Life, Tomorrow Never Knows, I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Golden Slumbers Melody and a hundred more
The Beatles were timeless and forever will be unlike some of what passes for "music" these days. Today's music is disposable and geared towards short attention spans. Its here today, hot for a minute or a few days/weeks and then gone.
This was John lennons masterpiece, I remember reading Paul didn't want the music swallowed up in white noise that John wouldn't have it, he said no the white noise will drown it out, Paul also didn't want it to stop abruptly, again John said no it will. It was the best decision considering the subject matter. This song is all about yoko, John gf, the whole theme is sexual, obsessive and passionate. It is a plea from John for her to know he can't think of anything else but her and for her to give in. Then as the song becomes more desperate in its resolution he becomes driven mad and the white noise represent his obsession until it swallows up his craft, namely beatles music. This is by far John's greatest work, he wrote it and orchestrated its sound. Paul on bass 🔊 my God his soloing in between the organ and the guitars is f##### off the charts. And the harmonies between all of them in the chorus sets the bar. God those guys could harmonize the only modern day band that cones close is def leppard, it is any surprise they are from the same country. The beatles were the first orginal band that really couldn't be categorized although they put them in rock n roll. But look at their catalog. When I'm sixy four has horns and jazz, cone togther is rock, love me do is pop and this tune has an undertone of heavy metal. The beatles created their own standards and genre, doing what they wanted. And here we are talking about them today. That's legends, John, Paul, george, and Ringo were exceptional musicians that togther changed the course of musical history.
I loved when you say their music doesn’t sound like it came out 50 years ago. It’s true. It ALWAYS feels fresh as fuck (especially form their rubber soul era onwards)

That is the thing about them, much of their music, even their early stuff, still sounds fresh today. They came in on top and left the same way. They were the perfect storm because after the went their separate ways, they all produced great songs but they never quite achieved the general timeliness. Though I would give a nod to John's first real solo album 'Plastic Ono Band'. He took a complete left turn into what sounds like a prediction of the punk music that would come several years later.
You should hands down react to "Because" by the Beatles, also from the same Album but Very different to this song. Probably one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made

Yah, I'm a drummer, ringo was a GREAT METER, his timing was impeccable. First drummer left band and said they'd go where.... boy was he wrong... Beatles were masters!!
They dumped Pete Best, their first drummer, for Ringo just as they landed their first recording contract.
They were a once in a lifetime group that will always be remembered.
the production on Beatle songs is so good because one of the fortunate accidents of history is that the Beatles ended up with George Martin as their producer... they understood each other
George!
🙂✌️👍👌👏👏👏👏
perfection.pure soul.beatles
Fun fact - That was Billy Preston on organ.
The days you do a Beatles song are good days, and this was a really good day. If I may make a few suggestions - While my Guitar Gently Weeps (George), I am The Walrus (John) and Eleanor Rigby (Paul). If you want to hear something Ringo, I'd suggest Octopus's Garden (which actually preceded I Want You on Abbey Road). Yellow Submarine is his most popular Beatles song but he actually wrote the other one.
Billy preston...the 5th Beatle. He sat in a few times with them.
Billy was indeed the 5th Beatle. No shit. John wanted Billy to be a permanent member, but stuck up Paul said no. True fact.
@@chrisb9122 and John wanted Paul, himself and George to each get 4 songs on an album plus 2 for Ringo, but Paul said no to that too.
How can something that sounds so doomed still sound so fucking beautiful?
You understand what we of my generation (I'm 63) felt hearing this music! I was waiting with anticipation for your reaction to the end of the song!
He cut it off right before it got to the end. Too bad.
@@LaStarza61 That's how the song ends. Suddenly.
Keith and in the end, the love you take is ee. Equal to. The love you make!
Greatest medley of all time.
A killer riff...less then 20 words....a classic timeless masterpiece. Bro, definitely enjoying taking the journey into our music of yesteryear. You rock.❤❤👊
This song was at least 30 years ahead of its time... pure pure genius
That whole last 3 or 4 minutes could be heralding the apocalypse.
I'm an old white guy and I sure love your excitement about the Beatles they were definitely a Time changer and grew up with them is something you will never experience but I did they were more than a band they were an era
How fking cool does this song sound. Every instrument, the organ the guitar, bass, his vocals ..
A Day in the Life, Tomorrow Never Knows, I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Golden Slumbers Melody and a hundred more
GOLDEN SLUMBERS, ...... YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Perfect suggestion.
@@tesIa.Iives.on.24 Absolutely no doubt whatsoever.... so easy! In fact it's much harder to find a daft one!!!
They were ahead of their time,, love Ringo Starr. Great song, great reaction. ✌
I loved when you say their music doesn’t sound like it came out 50 years ago. It’s true. It ALWAYS feels fresh as fuck (especially form their rubber soul era onwards)
i'm glad you enjoyed it; this is my favourite beatles song. The "I want you" section is so groovy, yet the "she's so heavy" section is so hypnotic
Well i have to admit that my first hearing of this on vinyl loud it blew me away
It makes me so happy to see you vibe so hard with The Beatles. Some of their real early stuff is a little dated but everything for 1966 on is straight fire.
I like the early stuff just as much, sounds both dated and fresh at the same time
@@junkersish yes you are right and early stuff influenced many singers , in 1963 she loves you (Ozzy Osbourne, sting, Phil Collins....)please please me (lemmy kilminster) and in February 1964 the Americans (Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, joe Walsh, joe Perry, Steve lukather.,Tom petty...)

This song just soothes the soul! Hard rock heavily infused with blues. Lovely! Long live the Beatles!
Play the medley on Side 2 Starting with You never give me your money all the way to the end of the album. 16 Minutes of pure genius.
You can always tell a John song, excellent vocals And you never know where the songs going to you hear it
Congratulations. You're now part of the latest generation to get hooked on The Beatles. The timelessness of their music is amazing. Everything they did paved the way for pop music for decades after they broke up. You can't spell "Beatles" without "Best." 👍
In 1973 wrote my 7th-grade history paper on "Who Changed the World" on The Beatles. (Had to really talk the teacher into it, btw 😀)
This is from Abby Road, came out in 1969. I was a freshman in high school. We were so excited every time a new Beatles album was released because they were all so different!
This song and almost every song by the Beatles were and still are as good today as 50 years ago. Thanks so much for your reaction to this masterpiece! ☮️. Once you begin listening to their music, the more you just love it! ✌️
They were blessed by God. Outstanding talent, nothing can compare to them. A miracle of nature.
Next time you do Beatles, do the entire Abbey Road medley. It's probably the greatest thing in the history of recorded sound.
While I agree regarding the medley (suite?), perhaps he should react to Chris Bliss' juggling performance to that piece. Watch heads 'splode, lol.
Truth
Ohhhh yeah
Truth
Ahem ok computer
That ending is absolutely Epic! I love that Windstorm effect , the church organ, Paul's unbelievable Bass playing, Ringo's drumming wow! Its hypnotising! When I first heard this back in 1969, I was shocked with the Abby Road album and " I want you" twisted my head! The Beatles once again like every album previous had a different sound, different approach, more explorations, for me the turning point was the " Help" album it was so crystal in everything and the Film was just Suburb and the boys were in color and looked fabulous!! What else can we say about The Beatles or the Boys they are still our beautiful ever artistic, imaginative, color, funny fantastic musicians! And have sold more records then any band or singer on the planet and keep selling. Beatlemania 2022.
When he mentioned ringo's drumming, I'm like "this guy gets it"
Beatles, “Rain”, Ringo shows out on that one too.
I think you would like the Beatles "Yer Blues"
Oooooohhhhh one of my fav!!!!
@@carolinacuchacovich Me too
Yeah Yer blues , its very high in my top hundred , Lennon killer voice and heavy guitars...
Check out The Dirty Mac "Yer Blues"
Greatest "supergroup" EVER! John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Mitch Mitchell. From Rolling Stones Flying Circus.
You stoked about rocking out to Helter Skelter had me dying 😂😂 love it
That is the thing about them, much of their music, even their early stuff, still sounds fresh today.
The best solo Beatle album. Imho.
Y Mccartney se adelantó a la música indie....con Ram....
@@octaviomoramelendez6003 Estoy de acuerdo
Ringo is one of my favorite drummers and a big influence on my playing. Say what you want but when he plays you know it's him.
🎼☯️ There’s that Paul McCartney’s bass again! These cats were “heavy!” 🎼💟
This is WHY the Beatles have never been surpassed musically speaking.
The Beatles are Time Lords - and their music lives in an Eternal Now. It's that 'simple'...............................
John Lennon inventing heavy metal with this cycling, savage White Noise Drone Riff at the end ⚡️
...Wait for the John Lennon SCREAM!! Woo hoo! You can hear the guy in the Control booth freaking out!
You are so cute Michael... you really love the Beatles
@@carolinacuchacovich, indeed! I grew up with them!
John's vocals on this, is off the charts fantastic! Then again, they always are.
She’s so heavvvvvvy!
You should hands down react to "Because" by the Beatles, also from the same Album but Very different to this song. Probably one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made
Totally agree!
Agree!
Beautiful song. Because and I Want You (She's So Heavy) are my two favourite song on the album. It's my favourite Beatles album too, so that's saying something. :)
Probably their best harmonizing song.
I love the total mood change from this song to Here Comes the Sun.
Paul's bass and Ringo drumming ,gets you straight into the groove of the song. Only the Beatles with their magic can do that
The only thing greater than listening to The Beatles is watching you listening to The Beatles. ☮️❤️
Yes Sir. Most definitely Ringo. When I heard that the first time, it hit me about the same as you. In the day, the Beatles had access to the best audio recording equipment. You have a great ear.
Peace ✌️🕊️
They made 13 albums (in 7 years) and there isn't a bad song on any of them.
Act Naturally is a crap song. 😄
@@DocRobert In YOUR opinion, NOT in mine. It's a pretty good cover version of a Great Buck Owens song.
