Bravo! Not only was this a terrific ASMR video but the story and the characters really brought me into the immersion of it all. Thank you for taking your time to make these masterpieces.
I love love love the quality. Sooooo much meat on those production bones! I'd rather immerse myself in something like this time and again while you take your time and birth another masterpiece. You could be a huge freakin star if you'd just sell your soul to the man.
This series is easily the best piece of work to come out of the history of the whispering and ASMR community. I've lurked and watched this shit for the best part of 8 years and I remember after a year of watching ASMR, the first time that I ever saw Soothing Whisper reveal his face, that was a real moment. Before that every whispering video I'd ever seen from anyone had just been a photo or a blank screen. Since then we've seen some mad things come out of the ASMR community. Ephemeral Rift's ruthlessly consistent creativity has always been very hard to compete with, THAT original Space Tours video probably takes the crown for the best blockbuster movie style video, but Pioneer's Lash should be held up as the absolute pinnacle of what an ASMR content creator can achieve in cinematography, lighting, acting, believably, challenging and intelligent plot, narration, world building, immersion, character creation and development, narrative, props, sets, costume, locations - even the soundtrack and sound effects scattered throughout the series are unbelievable in their subtlety. Even the stuff like the interim bit at 15.55 onwards and the intro theme itself are little things that you completely take for granted when watching it, but those sounds perfectly encapsulate the entire series. They're subtle, not showy, but they suit the entire aesthetic and tone of the series so perfectly well.
This whole story may be supposed to make me fall asleep, but it's way too interesting to miss a single piece! I'm definitely a huge fan of your channel
The production value of this is of the wall, and the story as well, i have seen many shows on tv that doesn't come close to this. The time you spend on doing this is very appreciated. And i love all those little things with the light and stove and water sounds etc, it really makes the set come alive and don't look like a green screen.
OMG!!! Couldn't believe it when I saw this on my feed -- this installment was so worth the wait! Also, you should really consider shooting short films!
Wow. Utterly amazing and wonderfully thought-provoking. I can't wait to watch the entire finished thing in a row, one after another. It's like a combination of Twin Peaks, True Detective, and Bloodline that manages to also be insanely relaxing.
Great work, this series is awesome! The story telling and acting was so good that it almost negated the ASMR qualities of the video for me because I was so intrigued as to what would happen next. I usually watch ASMR videos to get to sleep but this series kept me up in anticipation of the next twist and I loved it. However, thats not to say the experience was not very relaxing overall. Can't wait to see Part VII and keep up the great work!
yay! Probably shouldn't have watched this first thing in the morning if I want to get anything done what with the shirt and soft monologues and the sandwich paper. Lovin' those little details again in the window and the stove. You work in film right? Probably a myopic question...
***** as I was doing those tidbits I had lots of shadows of doubt ("Is anyone even going to notice this? Why am I taking the time to make the scale wobble?") so I'm glad you caught them! I've done some videography in the past, but I don't work in film. I wish I did, though!
Phoenician Sailor And the bulb flickering, and the lens flare, and the tiny specks of dust in the light rays... To be frank though, people don't notice those things, generally...So the value in it is questionable. I do think it registers subconsciously. Those things significantly lengthen the render times, especially before I thought "hey, maybe I should render this out separately and then drop it into the project"...Oh, so I noticed you had a banding issue (I always have this) with the Interrogation video. One option that I found hard to find is putting "arithmetic" on a new layer over the composition. Doesn't always work but it was the one thing that worked for me at one point. No need to change any of the values. Either way, when you are sitting thinking that you can rest assured at the very least imma notice.
***** I think those things definitely register on some level. It's the reason you and Mr Sailor here look like professional film-makers and so many others look like people filming in their bedrooms.
Came across this series in the past few days. Really enjoyed it. I have watched your stuff for a little while now and I find you interesting. I would love to know more about your process of making content and your inspiration for this series as it is super creative and detailed but at the same time appreciate that part of your appeal to me at least is not knowing. There seems to be a mystique to you and your work. Good job mate, more of this more often please.
I've just watched this series in entirety and your talent is outstandingly great. Thank you for sharing this creation with us. I hope that one day I can create something to share with this caliber of skill! :)
I just realized Edward Prince was in After Hours with Professor Clemmons. Yet another link between the two worlds of you and ER. Anyway this was excellent, keep up with the fantastic work!
This is awesome. I came here because you were in The Saturday Delivery on Ephemeral Rift's channel. I subscribed and I'll have to watch this series from the beginning later
Instant subscriber, You're amazing, man. You have some of the most interesting videos and just the way you feel as a person feels very relaxed, Thanks for doing videos, you're awesome. ;)
I'm loving this series so far you are by far in my top 3 ASMR artists, Have you ever considered a Matrix style ASMR video / series? I think the insightful and calm way you speak would defiantly fit a Morpheus type character
I approve of your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter...... also I found you because of your collaboration with Heather Feather... I would really like to see more of this series!!!
The amateur detective in me wants to solve the damned mystery, but the ASMR addict in me keeps falling asleep before I can get any meaningful clues. In short, I've listened to this series a dozen times and I still have no clue what is going on. Keep it up!
Out of curiosity sailor, are you working on a new pioneers lash chapter anytime soon possibly? Becoming a huge fan so far of your channel. Especially liked your Voight Kompff test. Man that was awesome. I'm a huge Blade Runner fanatic haha!
Its been a while but lets see here. Stork was interesting. Condescending but think he means well. I think that he is a bit lonely and just wanted someone to talk to, not that he likes people, its just the lesser of two evils when compared to boredom. The clues he gives you are helpful for establishing character motivations and he gives you some leads, the x's on the map. It is a bit odd that he said he knows what happened but wont share because my character wont believe him or i wouldn't know what to do with the information. What i want to know is why does he care about the murder? He has one leg but traveled all over the island searching for clues. A person wouldn't do that just for fun, they would do it for someone they cared about. Then my next question would be why would he sit on the information if he went through all of the trouble of collecting it? I think someone may be blackmailing him to keep quiet. It seems to fit the bill, unless i am just way off track. He cant tell you everything he knows because then the people blackmailing him would know he talked but he did give you enough information to try to put the pieces together yourself. That way the murder would get solved and he wouldn't face the threat of whoever is blackmailing him. The next interesting thing is, and i may be reaching but i think there may be a patch of land underneath the octopus on the map that is important. it would fit with the symbolism presented because my character noted that it was an odd symbol and the key was placed over it, as if it were the key in solving the mystery. The doctor was an odd character. His body language seemed evasive and distant. He fumbled over a few of his statements and repeated himself a few times. He just seemed uncomfortable to be talking to my character. He tried very hard to push things onto Monica's boyfriend. The note was very suspicious. Hospital beds are changed very often so the odds that the doctor would find the note are very slim. Also why would he look between the mattresses in the first place? It also seems odd that he would withhold the note from the police if he cared for Monica's safety, unless he found it after the murder, which makes it even more suspicious. He also mentioned wanting to leave. I feel like a person would decide to leave long before 5 years past, and he made it sound like it would be easy to get a job at a hospital on the mainland so why not leave sooner? because he is involved with the murder in some way and he wants to distance himself from pioneers lash. I dont think he is the killer but i think he knows something. As of this video my main suspects are Zeno and Price. I have not ruled anyone out completely so i will have to see when the next video comes out. I stand by my goal of solving the murder before the final video. I hope i am not too far off the mark so far.
After years being into ARGs I just can't leave this alone without at least some horrible guessing. Plausible: a) the R in the message wasn't Russell, thought everybody (especially Zeno) seems keen to pin the murder on him. b) we haven't met the murderer yet, but we've met at least a couple people who know who the murderer is. c) the doc is one of the few people on the island we can trust. His guess about the assassin is entirely in good faith and not a deliberate attempt at a red herring, and everything he said about his findings is truthful. The only other person I'd say we can trust is the pilot. Wild: - the name of that brother that Stork mentions starts with R. - the person who left that warning to us doesn't really want us dead - they're just trying to scare us away. - the letters on that tombstone: initials (William Bellows + the lost offspring of Montaine?), but the first letters on every line look like directions, too (East-South-East-West). So how did I go?
"Reading not your forté pilgrim?" It wasn't always what with the dyslexia and all- but I would say I have greatly improved! I could read the sign just fine... I just ignored it.
"Why do I call you pilgrim?" Too many John Wayne movies? Thinks it gives you a mysterious and manly air? (You don't need something to give you a manly air beyond that magnificent beard).
"You know Pre-Socratic philosophy? You know Socratic philosophy? You can ... Read right?" Just because I prefer reading Tacitus' Annals over Socrates doesn't mean I can't read, we covered that I can, I just prefer historical accounts and fiction to philosophy. "I'm trying to explain something to you and I don't think it's getting through..." Then you're kinda bad at explaining then? The issue when someone is genuinely trying to learn something but failing is always the teacher, not the student; if you can't figure out a manner to convey what you mean so that they can understand it's your failing. The student is holding up their end of the bargain by genuinely trying. "Did he [Captain] actually give you any usable information or did he just talk in circles?" You mean... Like you? Right now?
You should do like some detective interogation asmr , finding evidence, something like that :) also I think post apocalyptic asmr would look good on ya ...
This doctor Edward Prince wouldn't, by chance, be of any relation to the good doctor who is so fearful of Professor Clemmons? It appears an interesting but, I admit unlikely connection.
Peter Robinson maybe unlikely, but the alternative is that there are two doctors who look like me named Edward Prince ... which seems more unlikely! Creepy. Everyone on that island looks like me. It's an Aphex Twin video.
I think the pilot was trafficking something for the council and captain zeno, monica learned too much so he killed her. now that i hazarded a guess can you pleeeaase make an ending to this series? please....
Zimo is not a skilled detective. The Doc seems more trustworthy and reliable. He said the killer would have to be strong to cause the damage to her neck, but what if she was hung, then dumped in Pumpkinrot Park? It's possible. It would explain the lack of a sign of a struggle at the crime scene.
PHart1291 oh yeah, the Nicolas Cage movie right? (kidding, but I don't have the CPU/GPU power to have 20 mes burning another me, and wouldn't you rather live?)
Unfortunately, my friend. As he (to my knowledge) hasn't even acknowledged this series in over a year it seems that this intriguing series is *dead*. it's a real shame.
I asked him about it. We may never know the rest. He got caught up with a major move and I think sidetracked by other videos. I sure hope he comes back and finishes these. I literally stayed up all night watching them thinking they were complete. :(
Thanks for asking him! Well i do hope that we get to see more episodes, or at least a quick story rap up. Because this is one of my favorite UA-cam series and I'd hate for it to be lost to the never-ending depths of *DEVELOPMENT HELL* .
I approve of your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter...... also I found you because of your collaboration with Heather Feather... I would really like to see more of this series!!!
Your production quality (and patience) is something I aspire towards. Impeccable as always.
Ephemeral Rift aspire to my patience while I aspire to your artistry :)
From the moment I first noticed that octopus, my mind went to Cthulu cults. Thanks, Ephemeral Rift .
+Phoenician Sailor +Ephemeral Rift
You guys should make a feature film together.
You have a delicious whisper, and a wicked cadence. Glad I found your channel tonight.
***** thank you so much :) listening to your pop rocks right now...
I always come back to this series when I want to see some amazing work all round. Even the theme music is amazing.
Woah, didn't expect to see you here! I love your videos!

This totally gives me an old school point and click murder mystery vibe. Really well done.
Point and click adventure games, yay.
Apples Malus thanks, I'm a huge fan of point and click adventure games.
Been waiting for this for a long time and I was not left dissapointed. Fantastic work
Daniel Watson thank you kindly.
This whole story may be supposed to make me fall asleep, but it's way too interesting to miss a single piece! I'm definitely a huge fan of your channel
This is so so so so excellent. Thank you for being so awesome!
Scooperdoodle ASMR hey it's you! Thanks :)
hehe yeah, and it's also you! :D hello!
please make at least a last part. this is wonderful
Seconded
Easily one of your best videos. I love Stork as a character, seems like you had a lot of fun playing him as well!
The production value of this is of the wall, and the story as well, i have seen many shows on tv that doesn't come close to this. The time you spend on doing this is very appreciated. D4NN396 that was the goal, to try and make the green screening less apparent. I'm glad it worked for some.
OMG!!! Couldn't believe it when I saw this on my feed -- this installment was so worth the wait! Also, you should really consider shooting short films!
Christian Bendana thanks Christian, how are you doing?
You're welcome, Sailor! Been doing great lately!
Wow. Utterly amazing and wonderfully thought-provoking. I can't wait to watch the entire finished thing in a row, one after another. It's like a combination of Twin Peaks, True Detective, and Bloodline that manages to also be insanely relaxing.

I am totally hooked and look forward to the next installment. What a great mystery!

You my good sir, have a a talent that is absolute. Why you aren't a more prevalent ASMRtist absolutely baffles me.
Please bring back Pioneer's Lash. Fantastic 😁
another awesome video I cant wait for the next installment, keep up the awesome work.
yay! Probably shouldn't have watched this first thing in the morning if I want to get anything done what with the shirt and soft monologues and the sandwich paper. Lovin' those little details again in the window and the stove. You work in film right? Probably a myopic question...
***** I assumed he was a doctor with his medical knowledge.
***** as I was doing those tidbits I had lots of shadows of doubt ("Is anyone even going to notice this? Why am I taking the time to make the scale wobble?") so I'm glad you caught them!
I've done some videography in the past, but I don't work in film. I wish I did, though!
Lethewards Sunk oh man, that'd be great (but I'm not ... see: recapping needles :))

Yay, glad to see this part is out. I liked the trailer a lot!
Soooo awesome to see the return of the Lash!!!! 😃
That song in the intro reminds me a bit of the Cry of Fear soundtrack
This is the second video of yours I've watched and I just turned notifications on. New fave asmr UA-camr.
Too bad this series is dead.
Came across this series in the past few days. Really enjoyed it. I have watched your stuff for a little while now and I find you interesting. Good job mate, more of this more often please.
+Andrew O'Malley I've been thinking of doing a video covering this stuff, maybe in the next few months.
These are incredible. When are the next set of episodes comes out?
you definitely bring ASMR to the next level, BRAVO!
This whole series was incredible... so beautifully filmed, the characterisation, the little extra touches!
The answer?
I really dig your guitar playing. Your use of intervals and nodality is cool. I really really really like it
I've just watched this series in entirety and your talent is outstandingly great. Thank you for sharing this creation with us. I hope that one day I can create something to share with this caliber of skill! :)
Ava Elizabeth ASMR that's too kind Ava, thank you.
Any update on when the next one of these will be coming our way? I'm really enjoying it so far, keep up the awesome work!
So... its been almost 3 years; still waiting for episode 7!
I just realized Edward Prince was in After Hours with Professor Clemmons. Yet another link between the two worlds of you and ER. Anyway this was excellent, keep up with the fantastic work!
Joe Blomefield thanks, Joe. Yeah, that was quite a while ago now. Hopefully they still get a chance to meet again.
Oh my gosh this is amazing!!!!!
This is awesome. I came here because you were in The Saturday Delivery on Ephemeral Rift's channel. I subscribed and I'll have to watch this series from the beginning later
KineticPhantom thank you (and thanks to ER!)
Instant subscriber, You're amazing, man. You have some of the most interesting videos and just the way you feel as a person feels very relaxed, Thanks for doing videos, you're awesome. ;)
Niclas Jansen thank you, Niclas!
Phoenician Sailor Anytime, pal!
This was the most original thing you ever did on the channel, ASMR serials are extremely rare. Such a shame you never completed it.
Can't wait for the next episode
this is truly compelling, I love the story and I get tingles too haha its the best :D thanks so much for your work keep it up
You should consider making short films, you'd be great at it. Also, this series has been amazing so far 😊
addictedtoasmr thank you! I hope I can make the next one faster.
Hi there... there will be a final episode? or is it supposed to be the way it is?
This may have been answered some where already but I was wondering if you plan to make more in this series?
Just discovered through ER Channel! I like your voice and the production! This is something that I was going for but I need more equipments haha
I'm loving this series so far you are by far in my top 3 ASMR artists, Have you ever considered a Matrix style ASMR video / series? I think the insightful and calm way you speak would defiantly fit a Morpheus type character
+deathstrike626 that could work! Maybe not specifically the Matrix, but a future dystopian humanity enslaved type scenario.
Yeah that would be very cool
I approve of your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter...... also I found you because of your collaboration with Heather Feather... I would really like to see more of this series!!!
Dude this is insanely well made! Big ups from me! :D
GreatWhite thank you, GreatWhite!
oh shittttt it's back!! this is like randomly seeing that there's a new Game of Thrones episode even though the series is over.
PHart1291 I'd love for some lost GoT episodes to appear that have Lady Stoneheart in 'em.
A sailor who talks in circles and calls the kettle black. That and his condescending attitude makes me think the map is a wild goose chase.
When can we expect new additions to this crazy awesome series?
That opening music was wonderful
Made my night - a great of our time!
***** thanks, Danny!
The amateur detective in me wants to solve the damned mystery, but the ASMR addict in me keeps falling asleep before I can get any meaningful clues.
In short, I've listened to this series a dozen times and I still have no clue what is going on.
Keep it up!
David Reames haha, that's great :)
There is a logical reason to why our sailor isn't frequently uploading new videos, some thinks its because quality. I say ney, it's the beard!
TooZanarkand it's the inverse of Samson's hair, it sucks energy from me!
That guitar intro is just..so great, atmospherical
Ovimpendingdoom thank you!
I thought the same thing. Reminds me of The Last Of Us game
Out of curiosity sailor, are you working on a new pioneers lash chapter anytime soon possibly? Becoming a huge fan so far of your channel. Especially liked your Voight Kompff test. Man that was awesome. I'm a huge Blade Runner fanatic haha!
SO GOOD!!
You look like a doctor with the beard, you look like a rock star with a clean shave... I love it!
MASTERGRIEF thank you!
Oh, damn. That linen cloth. Scary.
Did you ever finish this? I would love to see the end
omg omg yes yes yes it's back!
good video
Will there be any more of the pioneers lash videos? The mystery was never solved.
so good
Why is a children's song next on the playlist?
Clearly the real killer is a goblin.
It's youtube you are on. I learned not to question these things.

So how did I go?
+Mira Varia I can't say, but I like your reasoning!
I want this character to roast me AT LEAST once a day! I'd just be way too entertained to be offended 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂! 💚💚💚
+Phoenician Sailor Did you compose the theme to these? I've been meaning to ask.
I think he's said in other comment chains that in fact, he did.
Don't quote me on that.
He's hot even with a grizzled beard and a beany
"Reading not your forté pilgrim?"
It wasn't always what with the dyslexia and all- but I would say I have greatly improved! I could read the sign just fine... I just ignored it.
"Why do I call you pilgrim?"
Too many John Wayne movies? Thinks it gives you a mysterious and manly air? (You don't need something to give you a manly air beyond that magnificent beard).

You mean... Like you? Right now?
So Pioneer´s Lash is Iceland? at least that map you had in the video was.
prciler mc I altered it a lot, but needless to say it's not supposed to be Iceland.
The Cinematography in your videos is incredible. Are you a filmmaker?
Tom Fegredo nope, just an aficionado.
Phoenician Sailor Extremely impressed!
You should do like some detective interogation asmr , finding evidence, something like that :) also I think post apocalyptic asmr would look good on ya ...
Shomix detective interrogation, you say? ua-cam.com/video/DGzSYYMEVNk/v-deo.html
brilliant
I'm sure people tell you this all the time, but normally mens' voices don't trigger me. But you do. THANK YOU
Katie Smith they really don't. I truly appreciate the small subset of people who I can trigger.
Its amazing! Would love to have this song!
Buru Red the intro?
Yes. The video was amazing also! All of your videos are awesome! Glad yourself and the other ASMRers
This doctor Edward Prince wouldn't, by chance, be of any relation to the good doctor who is so fearful of Professor Clemmons? It appears an interesting but, I admit unlikely connection.

Anastasia Allen I may do a radio broadcast summation to wrap up the story at least. Since I went through the trouble of writing it and all :/
Please please continue with the story please❤️❤️❤️😇😇😇

What happened to part 7
AWESOME!
know that you have at least a Brazilian fan.
Henrique Rosa hooray! Thank you.
YAY!
Kit Fox hi Kit!
Phoenician Sailor I owe you stuff. I didn't forget. It's not done yet.
Nice
What is the opening music song called?
Buru Red I never named it anything apart from something like "Guitar Piece #48" or something like that.
It turned out a demon from another dimension called Bob did it.
how on earth do you even make this, i wouldnt be suprised if you had a team of 30 people working on this.
Is the opening guitar music an original P.S. piece?
You multi-talent you.
Jessica Graves yes, it's old though. I thought it fit here so I'm glad it got used somewhere :)
I really hope the end of this is the main character getting killed Wicker Man style
PHart1291 oh yeah, the Nicolas Cage movie right?
(kidding, but I don't have the CPU/GPU power to have 20 mes burning another me, and wouldn't you rather live?)
Do you work in medicine? Lots of medical themes / access to hospitals...
Hamish Duncan nope, but I am close with people who do.
Has anyone ever figured out the mystery?
Where's the rest?
Ahhh whodunnit?! I must know!
only being there for a couple of days and already being pretty much called a dead dog
nice place (not)
chiarakiara I know, right?
I approve of your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter...... also I found you because of your collaboration with Heather Feather... I would really like to see more of this series!!!
