- NO SOUND PROCESSING HAS BEEN USED on this video - so you can hear what the compressor is doing !!! You may need to turn up the volume a little :)
PRO's: VERY quiet, VERY transparent. works well with vintage output guitars, can be left on all the time. Great sustain.
CON's: Not true bypass, It will not quite get up to unity on the initial attack with medium and high output guitars.
WISH LIST: 1- A little more output, 2- A blend control, 3- True Bypass ( or a way better buffer ).
thanks for watching
Nice demo Rog, if I played I probably buy one.
thanks.. I just had to try one .. the grass is always greener right?
Great you tested the buffer. To me is important, 'cause I don' t want it on all the time. Thank you for this demo.
and thank you for the kind words ...
Yet youtube at 480p adds compression to the recording no? really really badly in fact.
different in some aspect from a cs2?
quite.. CS2 is not an optical and is a lot more 'heavy handed' this is quite transparent tone wise .. but it needs more gain imho
@@thebrainard to give sustain in solos, what is better?
Thanks for the comments
if 'lead boost/sustain' is the criterion cs2 is great. As are the dynacomp - keeley ross clones - etc. really depends on how your signal chain is set up and used. I found the Maxon CP101 very good for the way i use a comp. BUT it could not reach unity gain on transients with even a vintage HP pickup ..soooooo bye to it. The aformentioned units will all give a nice boost and a LOT of sustain.. but i like to leave a comp on as part of my baseline signal chain to just real in some peaks using the guitar vol for more saturation rather than turn it on and off. I am back to just cranking my Marshall 50 and smiling
appreciated !
