Playing Eldrazi into Dino on turn three and cascading into boarding party into Hunter is the best experience i have ever had. Turn 1 Forest, Arbor Elf Turn 2 Forest, Utopia Sprawl (Red), Eldrazi Turn 3 Dino, Cascade Boarding Party, Cascade Hunter I won the game btw. 22 power on turn 3, 11 of it being trample
Good stuff! No surprise about affinity dominating. The ponza deck is very difficult to play against. I know it sounds silly but I’ve beat it a few times in practice with slivers. If you can get the mana sliver on turn 2 and haste sliver on turn 3 you can go wide enough to get there and the slivers tapping for mana is a good work around the LD. Thanks for the videos. 😊
As a Ponza player, I think Ponza struggles against very aggressive strategies that don't need many lands to beat you up and can bolt your elves early in the game, preventing you from ramping. I've seen some monored decks running Raze as sideboard, targeting Ponza's enchanted lands, which destroys the deck
Imo, ponza is very good whenever it is built around for the meta and no one is really expecting it to be around. Once people catch on, it somehow makes ponza mid. But with the new eldrazis, i think ponza have a lot more ways of winning.
well MH3 just released and Affinity got the most new toys, so i expect to see a lot of affinity (probably because its super popular to play currently) and most decks will play with new MH3 cards since most people are trying to experiment with them.. come back in a month or so and the stats will say more of the powerlevel of the format.. Though sneaky snacker seems busted
Ponza results are more a consequence of the amout of affinity decks. That being said, the new eldrazi brings a lot of consistency and help the deck's game plan in a lot of ways.
maybe an insane deck idea.. but what about esper fam fam (with the new refurbished familiar), could use disputes and wellsprings for card advantage and some black removal, snap replap fam to eat away at opps hand seems kinda cool. no clue where you make room for all that but seemed interesting, a lot of time you are over drawing with the deck, this way you can start eating their hand away instead of over drawing... snap replay ephemera... opp hand will disappear fast. but i am not a pauper person, probably a terrible idea lol.
Would you be interested in trying a classic style tortex build? It’s got a neat engine and I would love to hear your take on it and possible ways to improve it
I'm up for trying new decks for sure. If you do want me to play a specific deck I'm always up for a deck donation. We can set that up via Patreon or dm
Hey, you always talk about picking up cards for your battlebox in the cardmarket intro. Do you have any thoughts about what decks would go into one? I've been trying to think about what would make a good battlebox that's approachable for new ppl and OKly balanced. Pauper elves and goblins seem like classics, but super enjoyable decks like current day cawgates would blow them out of the water. Do you have a battlebox? What do you use?
I would probably want to pick the top 3 decks of the meta and then pick up a couple of linear decks like bogles, madness burn, or (shudder) ponza/RG ramp stuff
@@kalikaiz Thank you! Yeah makes sense, meta makes balancing very easy rather than old decks. Ponza is not allowed within 5miles of this box :P Can't do that to a new player
As the guy who has played ponza for a while and has had pretty good challenge and league results seeing how good it is now and having to play the mirror at least once a league when I never seen it before it makes me happy and really annoyed at the same time lol
Hey, maicmaic here! Thx for the in deep analysis and for the “first to play the energy package” mention 🙏🏼really appreciate that! 🔋⚡️
You on discord at all? Id love to chat about the deck?
Nicely done!

Slivers can definitely go crazy

Yeah definitely elves and walls!

Funny how far out of left field Writhing Chrysalis was. Don't think I saw the card in any 'top pauper cards of MH3' discussions.
Single-handedly makes Gruul/Jund a powerhouse contender. I love it and I'm not even playing it. Just happy to see a lot more variety.
Yeah, everyone focused on Familiar when this beast can come up as early as t2, if you play 2 early it's basically gg
Yeah I had no idea!
Lol my brother was excited to put it in his pauper cube but we did not think it would be this good
Totally I don’t recall seeing it mentioned anywhere
No shout-out to the 4 tix 5-0 mono blue?
Dang I missed that!

All true, I didn't expect this wild swing though!

I doubt tbh

I spitballed that but I haven't worked it
@@kalikaiz :) Could make a good video if nothing else

thanks for that tip on boarding party ;]
Cash money!
At long last. Arbor Elf reigns supreme.
Nooooo
@kalikaiz the jolted awake can return to battlefield also the artifact lands
Ah neat
The biggest surprise for me was ponza. Eldrazi is really a thing now.
Yeah I hadn't anticipated that

@@christopherchapman9853 new people love to make big guys so include at least one "big guys" deck!
Just noticed the cap you're wearing. You from NorCal? Looking for someone or place to play when I'm visiting my folks there.
I am originally from Reno NV! Tahoe was my favorite as a kid. We visited a few years ago
Whoop, whoop! Trophy Tuesdays spiced up by MH3!
Very spicy!
Oh hell yea!
Thanks for coming!
FYI, the most played cards on mtggoldfish seem broken. 100% and 4 ofs for Ponza only
Ponza and RG yeah
Crazy stuff. Fams players must be sad😢
From experience, yep
Writhing Chrysalis is absurd in limited.
I believe it!
Bro just looks so sad and annoyed seeing ponza just crushing it right now
It's not making me happy that is for sure
