Your best address has been our mail forwarder for 1 year now and they helped us get our truck tag. Very helpful people! Now we are headed north to get our DL from SD.
New friend here. Hubby and I have just started being full time RVer’s. We are researching the domicile and mailing info right now. Thanks for sharing this info.
Great video. I live overseas and was burned by MyDakotaAdress only a few months after signing up with them, which required another flight back to SD. I now use a different mail forwarding company in Sioux Falls, but the process was just as easy as you describe. My visit to the Sioux Falls Department of Public Safety office (DMV to most other states) could not have been smoother or faster. I brought the driver's license I would surrender, my passport, an invoice from the hotel, and two pieces of mail addressed to me at my new SD address. I also had to sign an affidavit stating I intend to reside in SD when I return to the States. Less than 20 minutes later, I walked out of the DPS office with my new SD driver's license. I chose SD because of no state income tax and the country I live in has 100-percent reciprocity with SD for the driver's license, which saved me a lot of money and time for the conversion.
This is all very confusion. Im not sure where to start as someone out of state coming in. I have my valid license, my ss card, a vehicle with valid tags, title, registration and insurance. And I have money for this service.
Although I’m not planning on leaving my home state of Illinois, you two provided a wealth of information for those on leaving and hitting the road, be it retirees or folks with kids like yourselves. Really, just awesome information and the homework that you guys have done to get you all “legal” on your travels. Looking forward to some more of Glacier in the following episodes. Thanks Alissa and Ron for these and subsequent videos. I’m enjoying them tremendously. And all because I happened to look up about Voyageurs National Park. ATB Mike
Hi Mike! Thanks so much! It was a learning experience, much like the rest of our trip has been also! Our last Glacier episode will be tomorrow. I'm so glad you found us!
Yes, we would have headed there next, but they actually close the library in Custer on Wednesdays when they are open for drivers licenses. They use the library as an office in that town!
i'm going another route. You don't want to be married to any state. You thought it was the two of you getting married but the State has enjoined itself to the two of you by seeking their permission to.
Wow..that sounds confusing! And South Dakota is one of the easier places?

Good information. Just for your info you don't need to have a motorhome coach to be a member of FMCA. All types are welcome to join.
Did your vehicle insurance have to be from South Dakota before or after the vehicle registration? Thanks. Great video!👍🏼
In SD ,they didn't deliver US mail for apt?
if i don't have RV the process still same?
Good info. Thanks. Since you made this video, are you still happy with Your Best Address?
If you had domiciled in SD prior to purchasing truck and RV would you not have saved the difference in state tax rates? 4% SD vs 8% MO

does south dokota have free state health care? if so, if im in a different state am i not covered
Auto insurance in Florida is expensive. I moved here from Texas and my insurance doubled.
Do they confiscate /void your original drivers license?
I heard from another source that they do - you must forfeit them.
Good info! But why didn't you guys look into the kids schooling situation before choosing SD? You said you may have to change residency!
If you want good auto/rv insurance go to usaa but you must either be a veteran or related to a veteran as family...
Albert Cassler : DoD silly-vilians(slang for civilians since I'm a Vet) , not necessarily contractors , are eligible for usaa insurance .

🍎 3:10 " titles, going to be hard to get back " ? why ?
Any library will let you print, usually for 10 cents a page

What is your “another route?” Please explain.
Lot of rvers use South Dakota
What were your 2 forms of ID?
We had our drivers licenses and passports as our 2 forms. Then we brought our social security cards to get our new licenses also
Would an out of state drivers license and ssn security card be sufficient?
Why does all that sound like a pain in the ass!?
